Top WHO Diseases Expert: No More National Lockdowns

Dr Maria Van Kerkhove, who helps lead the WHO’s pandemic response, said that ‘localised’ measures should instead be used to stem Covid-19.

The World Health Organisation has urged countries not to reimpose national lockdowns in an attempt to stem the spread of Covid-19 due to the health, social and economic repercussions.

In an exclusive interview with The Telegraph Dr Maria Van Kerkhove, who helps lead the WHO’s pandemic response team as the head of the emerging diseases unit, said that countries should instead adopt localised strategies.

By the end of March, as the coronavirus outbreak spiralled out of control across the globe, well over 100 countries had imposed a full or partial lockdown – affecting billions of people.

Dr Van Kerkhove described these measures as a “blunt, sheer force instrument” that bought countries time to build the public health infrastructure needed to tackle Covid-19.

But reflecting on events since the WHO declared a global health emergency six months ago – when fewer than 8,000 cases and 170 deaths had been reported – she added that the economic, health and social costs of lockdown have been “massive”.

“Lockdowns are not something that WHO recommended, but they needed to be used in a number of countries because the outbreaks were growing so quickly,” Dr Van Kerkhove said. “But we’re hopeful that countries will not need to implement national lockdowns again.”

Though now it has been revealed that numbers of deaths had been declining before lockdown.

So, the WHO now admits, the cure was worse than the disease.

I fail to see how they did not “recommend” national lockdowns when their planned approach was very clear in their “Operation Crimson Contagion” carried out last year up to September, the report by the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board, “A World at Risk” issued in September last year, and “Event 201”, carried out in October last year.

Then the next month, we got the actual (alledged), outbreak. Funny that?

I demand the resignation and arrest of the head of the WHO, along with his co conspirators like Dr. Neil Ferguson, Dr. Fauci and all the others who brought the Western world to it knees. Not to mention the likes of the laughable “philanthropist”, Bill Gates. Traitors to humanity the lot of them.

I didn’t hear the WHO shout out to stop the lockdowns. I must’ve missed that one.

Why do healthy people need to be locked in their homes? We suffer from many diseases and common sense has worked so far by individuals staying at home until they recover.

Amen! We need an expert who knows better to stand up for the truth and what is right! Healthy people do not deserve to be locked up, and to live life involves taking risks. I say it’s better to risk and live an awesome life but never take risks and live a boring life. Governor rotten copper thinks the latter option is better for N.C., though. I swear if I could id lock him up for two weeks and see if he changes his mind.
