The English Revolution was in history nothing more than an event local character, tied to a given people – it was a strife between parties, while the death of Louis XVI was a warning, a direct expression of popular anger, thrown in the face of all European monarchs.

To suppress the freedom-loving thoughts of Europeans who fell under the influence of the French Revolution, the monarchs organized an alliance consisting of Austria, Great Britain, Russia, Turkey, Sicily, Sardinia, Naples and a number of other states that fought against revolutionary France.

The Second Coalition (1798-1802) is a military alliance created on the initiative of Great Britain with the participation of Austria, Russia, the Kingdom of Naples, the Ottoman Empire, several German princes and Sweden, in order to limit the influence of revolutionary France and restore the monarchical system.
