Scientists Concerned As Earth ‘Spins Faster Than Usual’

Earth

Researchers at the UK’s National Physical Laboratory have found the Earth is “spinning faster than normal”, which makes days shorter than usual.

Scientists recorded the shortest day on record on June 29 after the Earth’s full rotation took 1.59 milliseconds less than 24 hours.

Experts have warned there would be drastic changes to the time and date on computer systems if the irregularity continues.

Astrophysicist Graham Jones said if the Earth’s fast rotation continues, it could lead to a “negative leap second which could create problems for IT systems”.

Scientists Concerned As Earth ‘Spins Faster Than Usual’

With the “unfortunate” manifestations concerning human health and pharmaceuticals, climate change and associated agendas, and the uncompromising love of power and money, many of us are spinning faster. Those who are not spinning faster have become comfortably numb, detached, or cold bloodedly angry. (best served cold)

Whilst a positional change in the earth’s spin axis can create synchronous efficiencies, what is not mentioned in the article is the 18.6 year lunar cycle, how that can influence oceanic mass distribution and inertia.

    Defund physics. Bridges lives matter.

This will make no difference to us. There are a thousand milliseconds in a second, so it would be many years before there was even a few minutes difference. The Earth is also constantly being slowed by the Moon.

It’s that black hole produced at CERN, now residing at the center of the Earth and slowly eating us all away.

    Hi PSI Readers,

Decades ago I read about this phenomena but just as the Earth was observed to spin faster; it was observed to spin slower. So these SCIENTISTS concluded that the tiny variations being observed had been going on since there was an Earth.

    Have a good day, Jerry

    No. It is Trump’s fault.
Everything is Trump’s fault according to the Dems.

People should be worried….very worried about the moon’s orbit increasing…..one day it’s going to leave earth’s orbit and just orbit the sun. OK, it’s millions of years away but worry anyway…..as if anything can be done bout it.

This is just another sign that the globe is cooling. As more ice accumulates near the poles, it is moving mass toward the axis of rotation and speaking up our rotation, per the conservation of rotational momentum.

Also, the orbital decay rate of the space station has decreased as the atmosphere has contracted, as in cooled, and the drag on the station has decreased. Thus, they can go for longer between making orbital adjustments to a higher orbit.

In the world of real science, the behavior of the Sun, solar cycles, and ocean cycles, and atmospheric density and altitude, and Earth’s spin all indicate that we are cooling and in for more. CO2 is NOT in control of climate and in the world of real science, CO2 is the best coolant in the world—thermodynamic physicists cannot get CO2 to warm anything.
