Joe continues to accept the false premises and physics that the believers in man caused climate change do and uses math that has no connection with reality. Since the density of mass changes with altitude you cannot treat the atmosphere as constant during changes in altitude. Saying the temperature decreases at a constant rate in the troposphere ignores the change in mass.

At one point, a single temperature of -18C is derived. This assumes a heat loss due to radiation to space that’s the same all over the globe. However, loss (W/m^2) is a highly non-linear function of local temperature, T^4. In reality, the sunside equator radiates way more than than the poles, and so on, so the total Watts rejected will not come out the same as a uniformly warm globe’s would.
Further, the heating due to internal fission in the Earth must be considered.

I think I saw your name in the chat box. I could not get logged in to leave comments. Here is a question you can ask Joe. If the surface of the Earth is heating the atmosphere how can the temperature over the ocean ever be greater than the surface temperature of the water?

Only a quarter of the earths surface is warming at any given time, the other 3 quarters is cooling at all different rates, only the quarter in the time zone from sun up until mid day is warming.

Joe is delusional on his “cold cannot heat hot” notion. All object release radiation constantly. Therefore all object (regardless of temperature, except absolute zero) can be said to be heating all objects in their vicinity. So his assertion that only hotter objects can heat cooler objects is just nonsense. The stubborn fool does not realize that he has misinterpreted one of the laws of thermodynamics which correctly states that cooler objects cannot INCREASE THE TEMPERATURE of hotter objects, which obviously has a very different meaning that what he stated.
Also he is completely delusional about H2O (there is no such thing as latent heat of condensation). But this is okay since everybody but me carries this same delusion.

Hi James.
The 2nd law of thermodynamics is wrong because it talks of temperature instead of energy. Objects do not radiate or transfer mass, only energy. When objects collide they follow the law of conservation of momentum. An object with greater velocity (energy) will add velocity to an object with less energy, regardless of the masses of the objects. I you run a small car into the back of a large slower truck the car will slow down even though the truck has more kinetic energy.

I really believe you are missing a financial opportunity here. Imagine how much money you could make as a consultant to GE or the U.S. Navy explaining to them that they’ve had it wrong for the past 150 years! Those fools must have no idea how steam turbines and condensing units work. But now they have your brilliance to show them the error of their ways! Imagine how much you could save them!
