PM urged to sack Tory peer after ‘fake’ virus videos claim

A Conservative peer has denied the pandemic exists and blamed Chinese “fake videos” for fears about Covid-19, sparking calls for her to be sacked from her government job.

Helena Morrissey, a director at the Foreign Office, suggested the crisis has been exaggerated because people are not “dropping dead in the street”.

The data shows we are NOT in a pandemic,” tweeted the peer, who was sent to the House of Lords by Boris Johnson last year. “If people were dropping dead in the street we would notice & not go to M&S and have all those football matches.

Baroness Morrissey then made claims about the role played by the Chinese Communist Party, adding: “CCP fake videos started this. It is ridiculous.

The comments were condemned by health experts, the families of coronavirus victims and Labour, with demands that the prime minister discipline her.

The peer, a leading asset manager, is the senior non-executive director at the Foreign Office – a government role created to provide “strategic leadership” and “advice on performance and delivery”.

Angela Rayner, Labour’s deputy leader, called for her to be removed, saying it was simply the latest example of Conservatives undermining the fight against the virus.

The controversy follows criticism of the failure to act when Tory MP Desmond Swayne said Covid statistics “appear to have been manipulated” and risks to the NHS were “manageable”.

The prime minister must finally wake up to the threat of disinformation and conspiracy theories in his party’s ranks,” Ms Rayner said. “He must take action against Conservative parliamentarians who undermine our national effort to defeat this virus and put more lives at risk by legitimising, promoting and endorsing deadly disinformation.

The Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice group, which is campaigning for an independent inquiry into the pandemic response, called the comments “shocking” and “deeply upsetting”.

We would urge Helena Morrissey to consider visiting the National Covid Memorial Wall opposite parliament, where palm-sized hearts for each of the lives lost to Covid-19 cover a wall half a kilometre in length,” it said.

Professor Christina Pagel, a member of the Independent Sage group of scientists, attacked “damaging ignorance”, saying: “It’s despicable. She is gaslighting the families of the 150,000 people who have died.

And another member, Gabriel Scally, professor of public health at University of Bristol, said: “The pandemic indeed kills far more poor people and ethnic minority people than it does rich, white baronesses, but having a very public Covid-denier in a prominent governance role in the Foreign Office is surely unacceptable?

Baroness Morrissey, who charges up to £20,000 for speaking engagements, also retweeted comments from the British rapper Zuby criticising the lockdown as “bulls***”.

It attacked shops, gyms and restaurants being closed while Americans were “going to nightclubs and throwing parties”, saying: “The UK is on some BS.”

Her comments on the Chinese ruling party’s alleged involvement in the pandemic come during increasing tension between Beijing and London.

The UK recently imposed sanctions on Chinese officials in response to the treatment of Uighur Muslims. The foreign secretary, Dominic Raab, has stopped short of labelling the situation a “genocide,” but has said it constitutes “appalling” human rights violations.

Downing Street declined to respond to calls for the prime minister to discipline the peer. Baroness Morrissey has also been approached for a response.

It was Blair of the Labour Party who faked WMDs . It’s what governments do – tell lies .

‘Good to hear Dominic Raab speaking out in favour of human rights, but then, if I were cynical, I might suggest he, being the obvious replacement for Boris should he be sacked, would say such “populist” things to get national support for PM. Then, when installed, we will get the same old same old shit.

It’s so funny that she cites evidence then she is attacked with feelings, no evidence at all. This is just more evidence that this is about compliance and nothing to do with a virus. Opposition is not allowed. She’s right, this pandemic is a hoax.

Keeping the fear narrative going is very important for this power-grab scamdemic. This is just like Castro keeping power in Cuba because he was constantly saying that the US was prepared to invade. Hugo Chavez did the same thing in Venezuela, claiming loudly that the US was the enemy and not him.

Now, the government is claiming to protect the people from the skeptics who identify correctly that there never was a pandemic, just a normal or below normal flu season. When 96% of claimed Covid-19 deaths are accompanied with 2.9 to 4 co-morbidities, Covid-19 was just an small added physiological effect that broke the camel’s back.

Heat waves kill people. Interestingly the death rate goes up during a heat wave, but down after the heat wave, which indicates that the heat wave simply killed people who were going to die in a month or two anyhow. Cold snaps kill people. There is rise in the death rate during the cold snap, BUT the death rate goes back to normal when the cold snap is done. This indicates that people died who were otherwise healthy and also that one of any age can die of cold.

Well done to Baroness Morrissey, the mother of nine children, for her tremendous courage in telling us the truth.

Have you seen the list of 40 new billionaires who made their fortunes from Wuhan Covid? It turns out that over 50% of them are of Chinese ancestry, 15% are from India, a few from Europe, one each from Turkey & Japan, and no Brits. Forbes tried to conceal these awkward facts by using just one black & white photo of three of them, and no photos of the rest, and labelling immigrants as “from Canada”, etc. But the Daily Mail showed photos of them all:

Well, if Boris DID sack Baroness Morrisey, perhaps she could take him to a tribunal. Now THAT would be interesting, given the amount of evidence out there proving the whole pandemic been blown up out of all proportion. I’m sure Michael O’Bernicia could help her out…. I feel sorry for those people who lost loved ones, I really do. But the figures show that these people were either on their last legs from other causes, or they were already very old. Suddenly death has become something that people feel is unfair or wrong, instead of an inevitable part of living.
