Planetary Physics 201: Earth’s Temperature

If you happened to miss this livestream (Sept. 16, 2023, 8pm MDT) you can now view it in full. This was the first time in history where the entire temperature structure of the Earth’s surface and atmosphere (i.e., the troposphere) is explained all in one place, in one lecture.

This has literally never happened before, anywhere, or in any university, although it easily could and should have.

The academia-shaking lecture and include yourself as one of the ones who was there to witness this original and paradigm-shattering scientific event!

It is good to see the issue of average temperature being discussed. It is one of the basic variables used to support the climate alarmism and it is completely meaningless in physics. I don’t understand why this is not understood by more people. If there is an average temperature it must be proved by experiment. An average mass exists because there is a total mass which we can prove by weighing individual items, adding them to find a total and then weighing them together. A total temperature does not exist. Measure the temperature of two cups of water, put them together and the temperature will not be the total. I cannot think of a single example in physics or engineering is used in any calculation. Using the average load on a bridge to design it would result in its collapse. Using the average thrust on a plane journey to size the engine and the plane would never get off the ground. Use the average temperature at a location to design a central heating system and we would freeze in winter. How did the human race become so stupid that the majority cannot understand this?

Using the average heat emission by a body for an energy balance to the average heat input from a heat source is definitely a reasonable approach which works for a system. From the average heat emission you get the average temperature via the fourth root. There´s nothing wrong with that. With that said, the greenhouse energy balance is completely wrong.
