Never-ending Big Bangs and Big Crunches?
Sir Roger Penrose believes that our universe has had many Big Bangs, with more to come.
Penrose, a mathematician and physicist at the University of Oxford who recently shared this year’s Nobel Prize in physics, claims that our universe has experienced many Big Bangs, with another on the way.
Penrose received the Nobel Prize in Physics for developing mathematical methods that proved and expanded Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity, as well as for his black hole discoveries, which demonstrated how objects that become too dense undergo gravitational collapse into singularities – points of infinite mass.
Penrose’s acceptance speech repeated his confidence in “a crazy notion of mine” that the universe would expand until all stuff decays. Following then, a second Big Bang will birth a new universe.
“The Big Bang was not the beginning,” Penrose said in an interview with The Telegraph. “There was something before the Big Bang and that something is what we will have in our future. “What proof does the physicist have for this theory he dubbed “conformal cyclic cosmology” (CCC) that goes against the current Big Bang dogma?
He claimed to have discovered six “warm” sky regions (named “Hawking Points”), each approximately eight times the size of the Moon. They are named after Professor Stephen Hawking, who proposed that black holes “leak” radiation and eventually evaporate.
Finding such holes is exceedingly unlikely because it might take longer than the age of the universe we inhabit in (13.77 billion years).
Penrose (89), a Hawking collaborator, argues that we can witness “dead” black holes left by previous universes or “aeons.” If confirmed, Hawking’s theories would be validated.
The physicist’s 2020 study, published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, shows “anomalous circular patches” with increased temperatures in the CMB.
The spots were identified using data from the Planck 70 GHz satellite, and up to 10,000 simulations were used to establish their existence. Penrose’s 2018 paper discovered radiation hot spots in the CMB generated by evaporating black holes.
Penrose and Vahe Gurzadyan of Armenia’s Yerevan Physics Institute revealed support for cyclic cosmology in the CMB’s uniform temperature rings in a 2010 paper.
At the time, astronomers suggested that the rings were created by gravitational wave fingerprints from merging black holes in a universe before ours.
Some cosmologists disagree, citing the difficulties of turning an infinitely big universe in one aeon to a super-small one in the next. This implies that as the universe ages, all particles lose mass.
Penrose’s most recent paper, “Apparent evidence for Hawking points in the CMB Sky,” is available here.
Another noteworthy possibility is Penrose’s theories on the quantum-level beginnings of human awareness.

Why does this matter? in 10 years there will be no one on earth to debate this anyway.,

Remember when “experts” had to explain faults with the theory that the Earth was the center of the universe, by way of epicycles?
Roger’s claim fits into the same category. BS IMO.

“Many Big Bangs with more to come”…..how many?…..how many more?……infinite? Is a Big Bang the creation of massive energy from…..nothing?

so who/what created the creator?

“The spots were identified using data from the Planck 70 GHz satellite, and up to 10,000 simulations were used to establish their existence.”
As always, “scientists” find and define their new and old theories through mathematical process and computer simulations. I have little faith that anyone has enough knowledge in the human race to accurately define the underlying factors that would be needed to ever “simulate” anything with regards to the universe. Look how impossibly pathetic their efforts are at with regards the Earth alone? All their “simulations” do is “verify” their belief sets” BECAUSE they are designed to do exactly that, not discover truth. That is all you can do with a simulation – program a duplication of what you believe, and they lack the knowledge to ever create a “model” with a computer, if, in fact, it could be accomplished.

How many more? None, Period. There never was a big bang. According to the BBT we are at the center of the Universe. We have been there done that crap and it was wrong. We are not the center of the Universe and we will never will be.
