Millennials Facing Climate Crisis Meltdown

Young people are writing to us expressing enormous anxiety triggered by the relentless climate alarmist propaganda in the media. As always, we offer reasoned scientific reassurance.

One example, (name withheld) has prompted us to post this article to rebuke the junk science claims, and to shame the idiotic purveyors of doom.

Below is the latest distressed email:

The alarmists have a lot to answer for … wastage of $$ trillions, ruination of landscapes and priceless agricultural land with wind turbines & solar panels, relentlessly rising energy bills for the general public, closing down of coal-fired power plants (leaving national power grids extremely vulnerable), etc, etc. …. and the fragile mental health of an entire generation (millennials).

Dear ******  relax, the world is a wonderful place and nothing bad or unusual is happening with the climate.

As any geologist knows, Earth has warmed and cooled throughout its extremely long history (4.5 billion years), driven by the sun’s fluctuations, not CO2.

Earth is now cooling, not warming. Here are two proofs:

The chart shows that since February 2016, Earth’s average monthly temperature has fallen (in a ‘sawtooth’ way as always, with minor ups and downs).

2) Arctic sea ice is growing again. See Figure 1a & 1b here …

These two charts show that the minimum area of Arctic sea ice this summer (the minimum occurs every September, when winter re-freezing begins in the Arctic) is far larger than the record minimum area of 2012. But 10 years ago Al Gore said that within 5 years Arctic sea ice might completely disappear (melt) every summer. He was catastrophically wrong (but you won’t hear that on the biased BBC). How dare this man, with little or no scientific training, make such predictions and scare so many people?

The above charts (temperature and sea ice) are deeply embarrassing for climate alarmists.

Society has been deceived into believing that CO2 is a “pollutant” that is making Earth warmer. In fact Earth’s recent warming (ending in February 2016) was caused by the sun’s recent ‘Grand Maximum’ event, which has now finished, so Earth is cooling again (see above and below).

The people driving this CO2 deception are biased. They have huge vested interests. In other words they stand to make a lot of money or gain a lot of power from public belief in man-made warming (by CO2). Such people include politicians, owners of media organisations, manufacturers of wind turbines, ‘climate scientists’ (they are not real scientists, and their jobs depend on the public believing in ‘man-made climate change’ (by CO2), so they are bound to say it exists), etc., etc. Unfortunately they have managed to convince millions of honest but untrained people, who are mostly well-meaning when they parrot the usual nonsense about CO2, but are entirely wrong.

Thousands of geologists like me around the world know that CO2 is harmless. It’s a pity that most of us have left it rather late to stand up and say something, the reason being that we knew from the start that the idea of man-made warming (by CO2) was so ridiculous that surely nobody would believe it.

Read these two items, very short and easy to understand, both with well over 10,000 viewings, and send them to as many friends and family members as possible, and especially to school teachers …

The truth will eventually come out, but it will take a few more years, and in the meantime you’ll hear a lot more people spouting the usual rubbish.

Trust me, within 10 years we’ll all be shaking our heads in amazement that so many people were fooled by ‘The CO2 Delusion’.

Keep recycling, but stop worrying about CO2 and the climate.
