Massive Anglo-Saxon cemetery and treasure unearthed in England

A massive Anglo-Saxon cemetery was uncovered in Northamptonshire in the U.K. during January 2021. Nearby, archaeologists also discovered a 4,000-year-old Bronze Age burial site.

The archaeologists uncovered a total of 154 Anglo-Saxon burials, dating back around 1,500 years, holding nearly 3,000 objects, from weapons to jewelry. A nearby Anglo-Saxon settlement also held 42 structures that were approximately 1,500 years old.

The Anglo-Saxon period lasted for about 600 years from about 410 to 1066, when migrants settled in England, so the new discovery would have dated to the early part of that period.

Older finds at the site included 46 prehistoric burials and seven structures — three burial mounds called barrows and four buildings — dating back to the Bronze Age, which lasted from about 2300 B.C. to 800 B.C. in Britain. The treasure trove of artifacts provides a snapshot of how these ancient people lived and died.

The site was only discovered when several companies began developing a new housing estate near the small village of Overstone. Archaeologists from the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) carried out the site excavation, which was funded by the housing companies that bought the land, Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

The Overstone site contains by far the biggest Anglo-Saxon cemetery ever found in Northamptonshire,” project manager Simon Markus, an archaeologist at MOLA, said in a statement. “It is rare to find both an Anglo-Saxon settlement and a cemetery in a single excavation.

The team unearthed approximately 150 brooches, 15 rings, 2,000 beads, 25 spears, 40 knives and 15 shields, as well as personal objects such as cosmetic kits and bone combs. Another noteworthy find was a patch of Anglo-Saxon textiles [above]. Usually, such ancient fabric disintegrates before archaeologists can get to it, but this scrap was mineralized and preserved by a nearby metal brooch.

The excavations will help us understand the way people lived in both the Anglo-Saxon period, around 1,500 years ago as well as the Bronze Age, nearly 4,000 years ago,” Markus said in the statement. “The human remains will tell us about diet, health and even the origins of the people themselves, whilst their buildings can teach us what their day-to-day lives were like and how they utilized the local landscape in these two different periods.

How long must one be buried before an archaeologist is not a grave robber?

Hi Andy. Basically a rhetorical question but I can imagine the people attending the funeral could be a little put out.

I would imagine it would never have occured to them that anyone would want to dig up their graves thousands of years in the future 🙂

In the picture with the green patina objects, you can see 3 familiar symbols. The horseshoe object is the cradle. You can also see a version of the cross of thwarts. A thwart is a line in opposition. A bend, wind, turn, crook represents this. The lightning bolt cross is one and it symbolizes the 4 turns of the solar year. The Schwastika is another representation, as are the 8 pointed star symbols from Babylon. Hard to tell if that is an eagle or a vulture, but both are still in use today.

I couldn’t care less about any artifacts, I just want the corpses to be genetically tested.

Since this is long before the Zionist Jew Kelergi plan Began flooding Europe with africans there will be no trace of miscegenation and ethnic cultural enrichment as is eradicating the white countries today. Like to get ages of death and general physical build. I bet the average woman then did not weigh over 170 lbs. as in Jewmerica today.

Every comment you make on any article is about the Jews. Give it a rest.

          Hello Andy:
Maybe you just have a problem with the truth. The Kelergi plan is well documented as to it’s origin and sponsors. It is the most traumatic event affecting Europe. Count Kelergi financed by the Warburgs (Rothschilds) who founded the Pan European Union in 1922 wrote about the purpose being to eventually breed out the white Christian races which was the goal of the Jews from the beginning. It is no wonder they have been kicked out of 109 countries. White Europeans need to think about their children’s future in the ethnically divided battleground of 3rd world poverty that will be the result of this disaster.

I don’t have a problem with ‘the truth’. I have a problem with seeing basically the same comment repeated ad nauseum, especially in an article about archaeology.

It’s a real skeleton, but not a foetus. It looks to me like a young adult.

It is estimated that there have been nearly 100 billion inhabitants on earth that have passed on. I wonder what happened to them, where they were buried, how they died and why. I know I will never get a truthful answer.

No-one knows how they died, but what happens to most burials is if the soil is either too acid or too alkaline, the bones simply dissolve over time. This most famously happened at Sutton Hoo.

        Hi Andy,
I think they died due to a Zionist conspiracy.

          Greetings Herb:
According to the wide range of dates given this would be before the Northern kingdom of Israel was carted off by the Assyrians (God told Solomon the kingdom would be split over his sins).. This is long before the Romans designated the area of Palestine and of course before Rabbi Hess and the New religion of Reform Judaism,.

We may take note that the descendants of these Saxon’s discovered here were lots smarter than those of today who now occupy the remnants of an Empire on which the sun never set but is now just a hollowed out multicultural shell of it’s former glory as a result of doing the Zionist bidding in two world wars.

They should have followed the historical example of of their ancestors when in 1290 they kicked the Jews out of the country.
