Jordan Peterson: The Truth About Cancel Culture

peterson

Dr. Jordan Peterson sits down for a second time with Frosti Logason in Iceland to discuss his rise to fame, his own net worth, the insanity of Twitter, cancel culture, reputation derogation, and the future of psychology.

In this snippet from a much longer interview, he discusses cancel culture and its disastrous results on society.

Peterson says “there’s a malevolent aspect to it” in which people take delight “in being destructive.”

He says it’s “part of the whole constellation of … antisocial behavior” with “a more subtle element to it, which is reputation inflation.”

Peterson goes on to say that there’s “nothing more valuable than your reputation. … People try to game the reputation system and that’s what narcissists and Machiavellians and psychopaths do,” or as he calls it, the dark triad.

“Narcissists have the confidence of the competent but without the competence. And so what they do is overclaim their contribution, so if you work with a narcissist everything that goes wrong is your fault, and everything that goes right is their doing.”

He says “they will loudly proclaim that, especially to their superiors, and denigrate you like mad if you dare to offer a counter proposition.” WATCH:
