John Kerry – Climate Doom Zealot

President Biden’s climate envoy John Kerry says that unless the word’s top 20 worst emitters do not take ‘bold action’ to tackle the climate crisis, the global environment will reach a point of no return. (1)

Recently, Kerry said that many countries of the globe, including the Arctic, the Antarctic and the world’s coral reefs, have already reached a ‘tipping point‘ that is irreversible, Kerry called for countries not only to make pledges but also ‘to accelerate the implementation of those actions.

There are 20 countries that are responsible for about 80 percent of all the emissions in the world, and if those countries are not doing enough, the rest of the world is doomed by their actions—or lack of actions, as the case may be,” he said.

According to the intergovernmental International Energy Agency, the top 20 emitters as of 2018 were China, the US, India, Russia, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Iran, Canada, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Italy Poland and France. (1)

Where did he get his information about the Arctic, Antarctic and coral reefs?

Let’s do some fact-checking.

Antarctic

Sea ice at the south pole has rebounded over the past two years to levels seen 30 years ago. (2)

John Turner and colleagues report that the Antarctic Peninsula has actually cooled in the past two decades. (3)

Arctic

Polar ice has remained steady for the last decades. In April 2020, the Northern Hemisphere experienced its 2nd largest 2-month drop in temperature in the 497 month satellite record. (4)

Great Barrier Coral Reef

The annual data on coral cover for the Great Barrier Reef produced by the Australian Institute of Marine Science showed the amount of coral on the reef is at record high levels. Record high, despite all the doom stories by reef science and management institutions. (5)

Like all other data on the reef, this shows it is in robust health. For example, coral growth rates have, if anything, increased over the past 100 years, and measurements of farm pesticides reaching the reef show levels so low that they cannot be detected with the most ultra-sensitive equipment.

Once again- a question for Kerry—how did you ever get to a ‘tipping point that is irreversible‘ for the Antarctic, Arctic and coral reefs?

Wild statements about climate change are nothing new for Kerry. In a major speech in Jakarta in February 2014, he claimed that “climate change can now be considered another weapon of mass destruction, perhaps the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.” (6)

Kerry also said that air conditioners and refrigerators are as big a threat to life as the threat of terrorism posed by groups like the Islamic State. (7)

He raved in a Washington Post op-ed about the following:

*CO2 made Boko Haram kidnap hundreds of innocent girls

*CO2 is causing Norfolk Naval station to sink

*Debating CO2 will kill US soldiers (8)

A prediction- we will here more from this zealot about the evils of climate change, just do not expect his information to be backed up by peer-reviewed scientific research, but be assured it will be alarming.

I knew all the way back in the late 60s and 70s that if people like John F ing Kerry ever got their hands on the reigns of power we would be totally screwed as a society- I debated people like him constantly. These people are not capable clear, logical thought based on meticulously analyzed data sets. It’s all emotion and ideological dogmatism.
