The bigger question is WHY do so many people fall for the phony grift?
My 2 cents: People susceptible to non-sense are those who are fundamentally insecure, or hate their parents. Most ‘trust fund kids’, such as Al Gore, John Kerry, the Kennedy Family, Sheldon Whitehouse (RI Senator), Barrack Obama, etc. resent or dislike their parents. They like the money and perks associated with the situation, but they harbor anger and resentment. They eventually understand they have pathetic, meaningless, pointless lives. Thus, they need a ’cause’ to bring ‘meaning’ to their lives.
Don Quixote needed a ’cause’. Thus, he went chasing imaginary Dragons in the form of actual windmills.
Not much has changed in 400 years since Cervantes wrote Don Quixote.
