HCQ: Video Explains When and How to Use It

Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are oral prescription drugs that have been used for treatment of malaria and certain inflammatory conditions. Watch this 8-minute video to learn more about this amazing and cheap medicine.

Nowadays there are case reports or trials suggesting the use of Chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine alone or in combination with Azithromycin In this video, we will talk about when & how to use, side effects, dosing and various studies on these medications in COVID 19 or SARS COV2.

Recently randomized study from China in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 found no difference in recovery rates. These drugs should be used only for: 1. treatment of COVID 19 positive patients 2. as prophylaxis for Asymptomatic healthcare workers involved in the care of suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 and also for Asymptomatic household contacts of laboratory-confirmed cases Physicians should educate themselves about the strength of available data regarding HCQ and CQ in treating COVID-19.

They should avoid misuse of HCQ and CQ for the prophylaxis of COVID-19, because there are absolutely no data to support this. Recently there have been reports of the use of ivermectin an antiparasitic agent in the treatment of COVID-19. It’s not proven yet.

I will come up with a new video if any update in the treatment or management comes.
