A rather remarkable story broke this week. Dr. Deepak Kaushal, who oversees the Texas Biomedical Research Institute’s $40+ million Southwest Primate Research Center, which according to Science, “receives about $10 million in federal funding per year and houses about 2,500 marmosets, baboons, and macaques,” was credibly accused of research misconduct by the US Office of Research Integrity. He settled.

According to his bio:

“Dr. Kaushal is principal investigator on 15 NIH-funded grants and is co-investigator of 9 other NIH grants. He is also funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation among other private granting organizations.”

Here’s his autobiography on ResearchGate:

The HHS’s Office of Research Integrity (ORI) put out a press release on August 8, 2022, that their investigation into Deepak Kaushal, Ph.D., of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute indicated that he had committed research misconduct, over and over again:

“ORI found that Respondent engaged in research misconduct by intentionally, knowingly, and/or recklessly falsifying and fabricating the experimental methodology to demonstrate results obtained under different experimental conditions that were included in the following one (1) published paper and two (2) grant applications submitted for PHS funds” (src)

The paper from February 2020 and two grant applications (in 2019 & 2020) all involved tuberculosis.

On the Texas Biomedical Research Institute’s website, they claim that Deepak “is recognized for having developed the macaque model of TB using the natural inhalation route of infection and a model of Mtb/HIV co-infection.”

ORI’s list of Deepak’s alleged offenses is very lengthy. According to an article by Science, the investigation was sparked by a tip submitted by an anonymous whistleblower. WATCH:

We now have three separate medical fraud scenes in Texas. Brook Jackson exposed Ventavia trail fraud for Pfizer. We have UTMG Galveston will illegal Gain-of-Function with Wuhan lab and illegal agreement to mutually destroy evidence, if discovered. Now we have fraud by UTMB San Antonio by the leading primate lab. What level of corruption warrants criminal prosecution in this UNIPARTY police state ?
