Coronavirus – A Perspective from Britain Part 9

I have decided to write two articles per month for the moment, as doing just one meant some information from the beginning of the month had been superseded by newer or updated information. I will include the graph for cases in Birmingham & Solihull in the second article each month.

First, some information that appeared too late to be included in the last article.

On July 14th – the UK Column website ran an article about the so-called ‘excess deaths’ in the UK. It says, in part:

COVID-19 has been circulating for at least a year and yet there was no notable increase in unseasonable mortality anywhere until Lockdown regimes were imposed between late February and late March 2020. Let me repeat that: everywhere, the overall or “all cause” mortality data consistently tells the same story: there was no notable deviation from the statistical norm in any country until lockdown regimes were imposed. (Emphasis added)

According to the World Health Organisation…this is a global pandemic which has infected approximately 0.15% of the global population and has allegedly led to the deaths of 0.007%. This makes it slightly less deadly than a bad seasonal influenza which can kill 0.0085% of the world’s populace in a single year. (Emphasis added)

Yet governments around the world decided that the only way to respond to this particular respiratory infection was to roll out the most oppressive form of governance ever seen in the west, outside of a time of war. (Emphasis added)

The measures taken by our “elected representatives” have already killed many people and will prematurely end the lives of many more in the weeks and months ahead.

The Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) found SARS-CoV-2 in sewage samples collected on December 18th 2019 from Milan and Turin.

Two separate samples, gathered independently, from Brazilian wastewater showed the that the virus had been present in November 2019.

Researchers from the University of Barcelona found a number of samples indicating the presence of the virus in mid January 2020, 6 weeks before the Spanish Lockdown, with one sample dating as far back as March 2019, a year before any lockdown regimes were rolled out. (Emphasis added)

On July 21st, Health Secretary Matt Hancock told a Commons committee that the results of the death-number review would be published “very, very shortly“. Other parts of the UK only include only those who died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus.

On July 30th, RT News carried an article with the headline Coronavirus can HIDE in human EARS. However, the article itself does not claim that. It notes the virus was apparently found in the ears of three people undergoing autopsy. It says:

there may be many other factors and comorbidities that affect the colonization of the mastoid and middle ear with coronavirus and these may differ in the living host. There may be significant differences between dying from COVID-19 vs dying with COVID-19. (Emphasis added)

The article can be seen here: www.rt.com

On July 31st, the BBC said the lockdown was being tightened amid a rise in cases, facemasks will be mandatory by law in ‘most indoor settings’ from August 8th, and Boris Johnson said it was time to “squeeze the brake pedal“. Unless such a law is specifically repealed when masks are no longer required, it will remain on the statute books permanently.

Chris Whitty said “we have probably reached near the limit, or the limits, of what we can do in terms of opening up society.” I will leave the reader to ponder what that might mean.

A document entitled ‘Guidance for public health officers. Potentially infectious persons’ from the Department of Health and Social Care & Public Health England was published on the government website during July. It includes instructions to health officials and the Police on how to remove people from their homes, forcibly if necessary, and place them in government-sanctioned quarantine centres for up to 48 hours, if they are suspected of either being infected, or have come into contact with someone known or suspected of being infected.

It is also interesting to note the second page also states ‘PHE supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals‘. That means they are being controlled by the UN, and if the UN said we need to use no electricity four days a week to ‘save the planet’, that’s what PHE would tell us to do.

This is the chart for new cases in the UK up to August 15th.

The retired senior government scientist I am acquainted with produced this graph to July 31st using two different datasets, which matches fairly closely the official one.

I have stopped looking at Covidly, because their data discrepancies are getting larger each month. On the 5th, they showed Spain with 305,000 cases, while Worldometer shows 352,000 cases. Covidly also shows Spain in 12th place, one place below the UK, while Worldometer shows Spain in 9th place, three places above the UK.

The World Health Organization, having said for months they do not recommend facemasks, have done an about-face and now recommend facemasks. Many suspect this is not based on any science, but is purely a political decision.

On August 1st, the UK dropped from 4th place to 5th place for the ‘official’ number of virus deaths, having been overtaken by Mexico. We also dropped from 10th place to 11th place for the number of recorded cases, being overtaken by Iran on 31st July.

There was no mention of this in the mainstream media, because like with ‘climate change’, good news is no news.

Also on August 1st, the website RT revealed the SAGE group had issued a warning to the government about probable significant public unrest if more lockdowns were instituted. The warning also said the Police would probably be unable to handle such disturbances, and the armed forces may be required to maintain law & order. This warning was apparently given on July 2nd, but it seems to have been largely ignored by the government.

The same day, lbc news reported the government saying if they allow schools to re-open, pubs and restaurants may have to close.

The logic behind this is….interesting….to say the least.

Also on August 1st, the Independent newspaper reported Ken Marsh; chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, responded to the PM’s speech about making masks mandatory in buildings, saying that the new policy will be impossible for Police to enforce.

They want us to enforce the new rules in these other places now, but next door there might be a pub or a restaurant where people don’t have to wear a mask. It doesn’t make any sense, it’s absolutely bonkers.

He further said “How do they want us to enforce it in places of worship? It’s impossible. We’re just veering from one thing to another, almost seemingly on an hourly basis, and it always ends up becoming the police’s problem. We can’t enforce that. It has to be a collective social effort, we have to do this all together. They are losing the will of the police and the public in terms of what they are expecting from us.” (Emphasis added in both paragraphs)

The following day, the BBC virus webpage said the weekly death toll had stayed below the five-year average for six consecutive weeks, and the UK dropped to 12th place by cases, being overtaken by Colombia.

By the 12th, that had extended to seven consecutive weeks, as in the chart below.

Also on the 2nd, the Daily Mail reported the government was considering plans to make the over 50s stay at home to help contain the virus. Also being considered the paper reported, are proposals which would restrict travel beyond the M25 in the event of a serious outbreak in London.

The article does however note Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has cast doubt on these reports, calling them ‘just speculation’.

It can be seen here: www.dailymail.co.uk

On the 4th, The Telegraph reported on government plans to demolish care homes, factories, offices and even private homes deemed to be ‘contaminated’ as a last resort if the virus starts to run out of control. The Daily Mail carried the same story: www.telegraph.co.uk

Also on the 4th, the BBC announced lockdown restrictions have been re-imposed in Aberdeen due to a ‘coronavirus cluster’ in the city. Pubs and restaurants were ordered to close by 5pm on the 5th.

People are being told not to travel to Aberdeen, and those living in the city face travel restrictions.

Nicola Sturgeon said there were now 54 cases in the “significant outbreak” and that community transmission could not be ruled out.

The restrictions mean that the 228,000 people who live in Aberdeen city are no longer allowed into each others’ houses.

On the 5th, PSI reported the British vaccine company Astra Zeneca has been granted full immunity against prosecution if its Covid vaccine kills or injures people: principia-scientific.com

On the 6th, the Metro newspaper carried an article claiming hair loss may be a long-term result of having the virus!

metro.co.uk

The same day, the BBC virus webpage made a surprising admission. Commenting about the gradual increase of new cases, it said:

However, these daily confirmed case numbers released by the Department of Health and Social Care mask the fact that the number of tests being carried out is also increasing – and these tests are targeted at areas where infection rates are highest. (Emphasis added)

As BBC health correspondent Nick Triggle points out, if you are testing more, you are likely to find more cases. And if you look at the percentage of tests coming back positive, the rise in cases becomes marginal, once daily fluctuations are taken into account, he says. (Emphasis added)

Also on the 6th, the Metro newspaper carried an article claiming hair loss may be a long-term result of having the virus!

On the 7th, I shared an image on social media that showed the warning on a box of facemasks that I’m sure some of you have seen, to which someone had attached the ‘fact checker’ comment saying while the label is legitimate, people are ‘misinterpreting it’.

I copied this from the ‘fact-checking’ link – It is true that ear loop masks do not protect the wearer from COVID-19. But it is false to say they offer no protection.

So, facemasks don’t offer protection, but they do offer protection. Err….what???

At the bottom of the fact checking link, there is this statement: Our fact check work is supported in part by a grant from Facebook. What a surprise.

On the 8th, the Mirror reported the head of the SAGE group; Sir David King, said unless the government sorts out the track and trace ‘disaster’, the UK could be put back into full lockdown in September.

The article can be seen here: www.mirror.co.uk

The Gov.uk website says this about the ‘track and trace’ system:

‘Once a person has a confirmed positive test result for coronavirus, this person is transferred to NHS Test and Trace and a case is opened for them. There is not a rigorous process for de-duplication of the data being passed into the contact-tracing system each day, as the emphasis is on transferring these cases quickly, and so some people may have their case transferred to the contact-tracing system more than once.’ (Emphasis added)

This gives the impression there are more cases than actually exist.

It can be seen here, under the heading ‘Contact Tracing’: www.gov.uk

On the 10th, the BBC virus webpage announced 69 people who had previously been included in the death toll were found not to have tested positive for coronavirus before their death.

On the 11th, the BBC website had a frankly ridiculous article about ‘safe sex’ during the ‘pandemic’. It says in part:

The Terrence Higgins Trust has published advice suggesting people avoid kissing, wear a face covering and choose positions that aren’t face-to-face during sex.

The best sexual partner during the pandemic is yourself or someone you live with, the Trust says. Masturbation, using sex toys or participating in phone or online sex are recommended as the safest options.

The article also suggested getting tested for STI’s before having sex!

On the 12th, various media outlets announced the virus death figure review has been completed, and the number of deaths has been reduced by….12%. Not the 70-80% it should have been, but more than I was expecting. This took us from 46706 according to Worldometer, down to 41101, and drops us into fifth place in the number of deaths.

The BBC webpage says new deaths will only be counted if they occur within 28 days of a positive test like the rest of the UK, so the daily number of deaths from now on should be greatly reduced.

However…the same page also says deaths occurring after 60 days will also be added to the total if Covid-19 is mentioned on the death certificate. Therefore, we are being told in advance the death figures will continue to be exaggerated.

If this review were conducted with complete impartiality, we should have expected a 70-80% reduction in the number of recorded deaths. However, as predicted to save face, the government only took a small token amount off, and the ‘conspiracy theorists’ who had been vilified for saying the death numbers were grossly exaggerated, were proven right.

I wouldn’t hold your breath for any relaxation of government policy towards the virus though.

The illustration below shows that with the 28-day cut-off, daily deaths have effectively approached zero. This illustration appeared on the BBC virus webpage for just three days before being removed.

The number of people in the UK in critical condition had dropped from 1559 at the end of May, to 279 by June 30th, to 84 by the end of July, and to 73 by August 15th.

Across the world, at the time of writing, Worldometer says there have been 21.6 million cases and 769,000 deaths. Of the 6.5 million currently active cases worldwide, 6.4 million are mild, while just 64,000 (1%) are classed as serious / critical.

A telling statistic appeared on the BBC virus webpage on August 15th. It says Of the deaths registered in England and Wales in the week to 31 July, 193 involved coronavirus, or just 2.2% of the total of 8,946.

I will submit the second article for August in the first week of September.

    An important update, Andy.
You are essentially chronicling the descent of the UK towards totalitarianism.
