Climate Alarmist Article Shoots Itself In The Foot Four Times

Last week, the Australian 9News website carried an article with the title ‘Carbon dioxide levels in atmosphere highest in four million years

The article reads:

The cause of global warming is showing no signs of slowing as heat-trapping carbon dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere increased to record highs in its annual spring peak, jumping at one of the fastest rates on record, US officials have announced.

Carbon dioxide levels in the air are now the highest they’ve been in more than four million years because of the burning of oil coal and gas. The last time the air had similar amounts was before human civilisation took root, scientists said. [emphasis added]

The US-based National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration announced that the carbon dioxide level measured in May in Hawaii averaged 424 parts per million. That’s three parts per million more than last year’s May average and 51 per cent higher than pre-industrial levels of 280 ppm.

It is one of the largest annual May-to-May increases in carbon dioxide levels on record, behind only 2016 and 2019, which had jumps of 3.7 and 3.4 parts per million.

“To me as an atmospheric scientist, that trend is very concerning,” said NOAA greenhouse gas monitoring group leader Arlyn Andrews.

“Not only is CO2 continuing to increase despite efforts to start reducing emissions, but it’s increasing faster than it was 10 or 20 years ago.”

Emissions used to increase by maybe one part per million per year, but now they are increasing at twice and even three times that rate, depending on whether there is an El Nino, Andrews said.

“The relentless rise in atmospheric CO2 is incredibly worrying if not wholly predictable,” said Brown University climate scientist Kim Cobb, who was not part of the research.

Carbon dioxide levels are rising so that each year is higher than the last.

However, there’s a seasonal cycle with carbon dioxide so that it reaches its highest saturation point in May.

That’s because two-thirds of the globe’s land is in the northern hemisphere and plants suck carbon dioxide out of the air, so during late spring and summer carbon dioxide levels fall until they start rising again in November, Andrews said.

Carbon dioxide levels rise more during El Nino climate cycles because it is hotter and drier in the Tropics. An El Nino is brewing. That 3.0 increase may be a sign of an El Nino bump, she said.

Notice the lines I higlighted in bold.

The last time the air had similar amounts was before human civilisation took root. So what caused CO2 to be as high as it is now? Perhaps it was Lucy the Australopithecine driving her 4×4.

…depending on whether there is an El Nino. So El Nino’s cause a sudden increase in CO2. Funny that isn’t it, as we are constantly told it is only human activity that did that.

However, there’s a seasonal cycle with carbon dioxide so that it reaches its highest saturation point in May. Ah, so there are natural events that cause changes in the level of CO2. Funny we rarely hear that in the media isn’t it.

Carbon dioxide levels rise more during El Nino climate cycles because it is hotter and drier in the Tropics. So now we are told the weather in the tropics affects the level of CO2. And yes, I said weather not climate.

9News is of course right that atmospheric CO2 is the highest its been for four million years, but it is also the lowest its been for the last 300 million years, as the graph below illustrates:

This article at least admits there are three natural mechanisms that can alter the level of atmospheric CO2, but at the end of the day, it is still written in an alarmist tone that blames us for the alleged artificial rise in temperatures.

All the ice core surveys show temperature changes first, followed at least 800 years later by a change in CO2.

Therefore, CO2 does NOT drive temperature, temperature drives CO2, but do alarmists or the mainstream media ever admit that?

No of course they don’t, they have to maintain the fearmongering according to the grand plans of the UN and World Economic Forum.

This is the main reason I got involved with PSI, to counter the alarmist garbage with facts and truth.

We all know global warming is fake. You can tell because there have been no sustained weather trends in most of the world that suggest the weather is warming over the last 40-50 years. Would have been better if this article shot itself in the head.

Why not stick to basic thermodynamics? Heat, by definition, is thermal energy transferring from one place to another, and always from a high temperature to a lower temperature. It would make sense to talk of thermal energy being trapped but never heat. In natural systems, anywhere in the universe, there is always a temperature difference and so thermal energy will never be trapped. Even a thermos flask does not trap thermal energy. It slows down the heat loss significantly but does not prevent it.

This ignorance comes from believing that home insulation traps heat. It does not, it slows down the rate of heat loss. But in summer when it is hotter outside, it slows down the rate of heat entry into the house and so keeps the house cooler than an uninsulated house.

The atmosphere does just the same. It keeps us cooler when the sun is shining and warmer when it isn’t. Proof – look at the moon. It’s temperature reaches around 106C on the side facing the sun. Without an atmosphere we would burn to a crisp.

“Heat, by definition, is thermal energy transferring from one place to another..”

Actually, that is not quite accurate. “Heat” is a result, it is not a “thing” and cannot be transferred from one place to another. Only the energy can be transferred and exchanged from one entity to another. “Heat” is a result of that energy, the molecular vibration of the atoms and molecules. “Heat” is a result, not a “thing”, and energy can only transmit from a greater source to a lesser source. (ie: higher vibrational state to lower vibrational state, or, higher energy to lower energy). People mistakenly identify “heat” as a thing that can be moved around, transferred, captured. You cannot “capture” heat, you cannot transfer “heat” and “heat” cannot “pile” (ie: no matter how much 130F coffee you pour into your cup, it can never exceed 130F temperature).

These facts are but some of the behaviors that make the so-called “greenhouse effect” impossible in this universe. Such a process as the so-called “greenhouse effect” violates many fundamental laws of physics that govern our universe. Simply put, if the so-called “greenhouse effect” actually existed, we would not, our universe, as we know it, would not exist.

The Climate Cultists do not even realize that THEY are the useful idiots who btw are made out of carbon, who are also likely jabbed with the death shot as they blindly believe and parrot everything the criminal cartel in DC says. We are actually low of the life gas co2 compared to times in the distant past when the earth was much greener. There is a war on all life on earth and reducing co2, aerosolizing toxic metals and other poisons in the atmosphere is part of that agenda. Here is a great site who has been censored numerous times for spreading truth about the Sun, GSM, Space weather, etc..https://electroverse.info/global-warming-is-caused-by-the-sun-not-co2/
