WATCH: Stunning New AI ‘Could Be Conscious’, With Elon Musk
Worried that artificial intelligence (AI) is taking over the world? How about your job? If you aren’t, you should be. Advances in AI are coming at such a fast and furious pace it can now do tasks once consigned to only humans. Is sentience next?
AI has gotten so advanced that it now understands objects and the relationships between them. That means if you ask the AI featured in this video, OpenAI’s Dalle 2, to draw an image showing a koala riding a motorcycle, it’s produced within seconds.
You can also take an existing image and ask for edits like changing the hairstyle. Simply select an area and tell Dalle 2 what you want, e.g., give the woman a Mohawk.
One artist noted, “the AI is better than a human artist in almost every sense, creating art in seconds, in thousands of styles.” He added that Dalle 2 is “capable of art and design quality that 99% of humans will never achieve!”
He believes most professional artists are on the verge of losing their jobs. That’s because there are also some impressive new AIs that have narrower skills, such as taking a photo from 1875 and bringing it to life like a movie.
Other AIs are being used in Hollywood and changing the way films are made. Green screens are being replaced by LED screens, creating realistic reflections and colors on the actors.
As the camera moves, the LED background updates to match it, and the background can move more quickly to create a sense of depth.
It’s not just for Hollywood either. AI can be found in specialized robots, farming and harvesting equipment, security guards (robot dogs), medical treatments, and can even play musical instruments.
The video also features comments by Elon Musk, who believes that AI will do anything that humans don’t want to do and change the world more than self-driving cars.
Musk thinks AI will someday become sentient, meaning self-aware, and we’ll have a robot in every room. He’s already suggested using AI to weed out the Twitter bots and blue-checking the humans.

‘It’, doesn’t understand anything It isn’t told. It has no awareness. What if it’s told to draw something it doesn’t know about? Where is the creativity? A child given pencils will start to scribble with no intervention. Will this apparatus? Back to square one I’m afraid.

In the original onset of robotic programing I was a fan of the MIT program called COG!
I too thought a robot could learn social behavior thru interacting with humans.
I suspected that the agency of will was programable, as this paper shows that predictive programing is required . I also wondered if a robot would learn like we do through experience, would getting social interaction equivalent responses, as do
people, require not only visual but also the other physical senses such as pain ect …Which we used to modify child behavior not to many generations ago.

The the question arises , After taking on our attributes what part of robots will we discriminate as machine and what will we attribute to being human ?
Will there be retribution? Will outcast machines from previous iterations be segregated from humans, like the movie I AM ROBOT when a superior AI mind, judged older robot models, an impedance to taking over the humans . Elon musk himself said AI could be our demise!

Saighdear, very good questions. PSI Readers, I question if Mark really knows the difference between good and evil and accepts that he, like me, does both evil and good. And because he states he is a Christian, he believes that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our evil acts. However, Mark, like Howdy seems to have a problem, he claims to be anarchist as Howdy confessed. Which must mean that he does not accept the AUTHORITY of God, THE FATHER. Hence, there seems to be an inconsistency. As the Native Americans (Indians) stated: “White Man seems to speak out both sides of his mouth!” (or something like that and it was TRUE). We all must deal with our evil deeds and accept that God is the final judge because He knows everything and demands that WE confess our evil deeds.

All reasonable intelligent people would grasp very quickly that I have never advocated anarchy which as a “democracy” it is just a prelude to totalitarianism. I do however harbor the strange notion that the government should be strictly limited to specifically enumerated and delegated functions as outlined in out original constitution. The federal government should be limited to basic functions only, such as providing for national defense (no provision for a draft exists) maintaining a federal court system strictly as outlined in article three of the constitution and securing the border. Since you Jerry apparently never miss an opportunity to wave the banner of religion when ever possible, I must point out that the New Testament authorizes the organization of government in Romans 13:1 and others. We also have the example in the Old Testament where the Israelites instead of being led by God through his prophets, demanded a king. We also know how that worked out. I am also aware that the books will be opened and we will all be judged.
