The planners behind the scenes have managed to centralize many of the APIs used for online commenting. This allows them to “filter” comments and focus narrative driving agents towards articles and videos they disapprove of. They have a need to control the narrative, and decentralizing the commenting software used online may be one way of countering it. It wouldn’t be a complete solution, but it would dilute the effects of the narrative agents. Their response time would be slowed as they expend resources locating online content they wish to control, and the agents wouldn’t have the aid of moderators who can shadow ban comments as “waiting for approval”.
