Why Nikola Tesla and George Westinghouse are Famous for all the WRONG Reasons!
I use original documents to answer why and how Nikola Tesla became famous, how that story is based on misunderstandings and why George Westinghouse’s personality and accomplishments have been stolen from him.
In January of 1912, almost 20 years after the war of the currents was over, George Westinghouse Jr. was awarded the American Institute of Electric Engineering’s highest honor, the Edison Award for the development of the alternating current system for light and power.
In his introduction, the influential and delightful scientist Michael Pupin said that it was so great that the alternating current system is now an almost universal adopted system, and the medal named after the man, Edison, who 22 years ago was the chief opponent of the alternating current system.

Deja Vu. It seems Hippolyte Pixii was the inventor of the alternator.

This design is used in bicycle ‘bottle dynamos’. Not really a dynamo because a dynamo is DC, but is an AC alternator instead. If one applies AC and gives the shaft a twist, it will continue to run.
