TNT Radio: Government Public Education Standards Nose Diving

Two recognised UK education experts reveal the depths of the dramatic decline in government-funded education. Professor Gloria Moss and math teacher and national test examiner, Sarah Plumley share with TNT Radio listeners what the mainstream media cynically covers up.

September 18, 2022 – Hi and welcome to another episode of Sky Dragon Slaying where we bring you the truth on science, education and current affairs the mainstream would rather you didn’t know.

I’m John O’Sullivan, CEO of Principia Scientific International.  Joining me as usual are Texan engineer extraordinaire, Joe Olson and Canadian space scientist, Joe Postma!

Today we are doing a deep dive into our failing public education systems. To help us are two British education experts, Professor Gloria Moss and Sarah Plumley.

Sarah is a well-respected math teacher and examinations officer who offers online home-schooling courses from her website, www.sarahplumley.com. Professor Gloria Moss is an expert in education strategy and the author of six books, over thirty peer-reviewed journal articles and has been keynote speaker at several major international conferences.

Professor Moss and Sarah Plumley go into detail as to how and why mass taxpayer funded education has deteriorated to such an extent it is palpably failing our societies.

Parents are seeing the wisdom in taking their children out of government schools and teaching them at home. The Internet significantly changed the resources that the public can access. This applies to almost everything, including homeschooling resources and support groups.

Many textbooks and workbooks are sold online, which is still many parents’ preferred homeschooling method. However, more and more online resources have popped up. These homeschooling resources include apps, educational computer games, and online homeschooling curriculum.

Home schooling and the introduction of new online independent universities now appears to be a better way of preparing our future generations app children at home, as an increasing number of studies are showing.

Growing evidence proving this case is collated at The National Home Education Research Institute which reported that homeschooled students score above average on both the SAT and ACT.

In 18 U.S. states that shared data, the number of homeschooling students increased by 63 percent in the 2020-2021 school year, then fell by only 17% in the 2021-2022 school year.

These students have consistently scored higher on standardized tests than their public-school counterparts. Studies by the NHERI have shown evidence that homeschooled children’s social, emotional, and psychological development is above average, as well.

The US Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey Shows Significant Increase in Homeschooling Rates since the Fall of 2020.

In the US, data shows that the biggest rise in homeschooling occurred in metropolitan areas in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, seeing a jump from under one percent to nine percent during the pandemic. This means that around 2 million children are now being taught at home in America.

Professor Moss has been a champion for more independent online education for all and has pioneered truthuniversity.co.uk in the UK a promising antidote to the failing public sector.

The Sky Dragon Slaying broadcast goes out live on TNT Radio between 7 pm to 9 pm (E.S.T.) every Saturday.
