The Story Of An Impressive Recovery From A Brain Injury
We call this process STIMMING (short for ‘stimulating’).
The Case Study concludes with some further implications and speculations.
~ Background Description
I met Kieran in mid-April 2023 when he came to me in hope of resolving the horrendous problems he was dealing with as a result of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) he suffered at the age of 10 which caused his mood and behaviour to deteriorate significantly.
He got into drugs, frequently got in trouble with the law and had three short stints in prison.
At his best, Kieran is a 34-year-old male in fine physical form, highly intelligent, caring, well spoken, well read and with a great deal of social grace. Success always seemed to come easily to him whenever he applied his skills to any new venture.
Because of the injury to his brain, he would engage in a behaviour that he was mostly unaware of and that deeply troubled him after these destructive events occurred. He was desperately wanting to straighten out his life.
We started his treatment protocol in mid-April with a ‘Stimming session’ (described below). Following his second Stimming session three months later in mid-July, his mother wrote to me with the following observations.

“Hi Cliff, You asked Kieran for a few paragraphs and I thought you might like a few from me, from my perspective.
Then:
Kieran started behaving “differently” aged 10. There had been some difficult life events around this time, and he seemed to become distant with outbursts of extreme anger. He could not manage his emotions when disappointed and his self-esteem was diminished.
This was not a passing phase, it grew. He became impulsive and drawn to excitement like a moth to a flame. Then self-medication began, and that grew. Each episode boosted his self-esteem for a moment before he crashed again.

He had no joy. He could not experience happiness. He hated himself and wanted to die almost weekly. Over a period of 20 years he had witnessed and experienced so much trauma that he appeared to be suffocating underneath the heavy layers.
He looked so twisted up, maybe this was an indication of what was happening in his brain. It felt like he had been hijacked. And he always wanted it to change. He desperately wanted to feel normal, to behave like the unique individual he knew he was, and to experience happiness.
Now:
BOOM! The results of your treatment have lifted the layers and revealed the artistic, creative, funny, able and sociable person that was hidden away. Kieran is reading again, socialising, paying bills!
He has found joy in the most peaceful way and stands taller. His physiology has changed, and in turn, he is more approachable, so is finding positive connections with others. He is able to negotiate without using aggression. He is able to focus. He is able to find solutions to challenges.

HOW DID THIS STUNNING TRANSFORMATION HAPPEN IN SUCH A SHORT TIME?
~ The STIMMING Method
During Kieran’s first STIM Session, I administered a 40-minute treatment on two consecutive days using the stimulation technology protocol shown here:
a) Cranial Electro Stimulation (CES) on 100 Hz setting for 40 minutesb) transcranial Photo Bio Modulation (tPBM) on Continuous Waveform setting for 40 minutes
The stimulation treatment was combined or ‘stacked’ while teaching Kieran to use some simple exercises to reprogram his brain.
RESULTS FROM THE FIRST STIMMING SESSION
A couple of days after his STIMMING treatment, Kieran’s Mother reported back that “Kieran is doing very well indeed. Gratifying. One week later, Kieran called me saying “I’ve noticed a positive and significant shift in my mood and demeanour.”
Time passes. I don’t get my hopes up. Let’s face it, recidivism is very common in our line of work. Fortunately, Kieran had had a significant “AFTER Session Effect”.
~ IN Session VS AFTER Session Effects
Studies show that in about 15 percent of cases of first time STIMMING with ‘very unhappy, disoriented and out-of-control individuals’, there is an AFTER Session Effect. “IN Session Effects” happen almost immediately right in front of your eyes roughly five percent of the time.
The Client’s eyes widen in amazement, their whole face relaxes and lights up, and then they smile blissfully as their worries and frustrations seem to just vanish while their brain reorganizes its pathways into a wholesome, healthy, supportive configuration.
It’s quite the thing to see.
An “AFTER Session Effect” usually happens later that same day or after a sleep cycle. The AFTER Effect is less dramatic than an “IN Session Effect” but the Client experiences the same profound neuroplastic shift in their connectome’s neuronal interconnected arrangement.
Basically, the brain finds a lower energy cost, neural network arrangement and does so overnight with the result that YOU feel AMAZING because of it. In Kieran’s case, it was as if the overwound elastic band that had kept him in high alert reactive mode for so long snapped and released all the pent-up emotions and misbehaviour patterns of the past in his brain.
Most people (the other 80 percent) experience this calming, soothing, freeing transformation within seven to 10 days following the STIMMING Session.
RESULTS FROM THE SECOND STIMMING SESSION
Following his second STIMMING treatment in mid-July, Kieran wrote to me to report on the benefits he is still experiencing from this profound neuroplastic shift. “My world has changed. I am not who I was.”
Kieran continues to thrive and make the most of his new found life. He has:
– Completed his Physical Training Certification course.
– Completed his Sports Massage Certification training.
– Started a new business.
– Got rid of his useless house mates.
– Regained the trust of his son who has moved in with him.

~ Conclusion and Discussion
Based on Kieran’s results and my 40 years of my research in the field, I can confidently say that non-invasive, safe, effective, inexpensive, easy to use, home based Mental Health Wellness products are now here and available.
How does the protocol work?
I hypothesize that:
1) The treatment provokes the Client’s brain into reorganizing itself so that it can process emotionally charged information more efficiently.
2) Our brain gets stuck in a sub-optimal configuration and gets twisted up, like an ever-tightening elastic band, tightening in the effort to cope with the world around us. This can affect some of us more than others.
3) Our brain learns to cope with and adapt to the pressures of living. This coping and adaptation are not optimal but ‘good enough in the moment’, plus there are insufficient mental resources to improve or get out of the situation permanently.
4) The energy supplied by the STIMMING is sufficient to allow the brain to spontaneously reorganize itself into a better configuration. These two scientific papers support these hypotheses and corroborate the mechanisms of action at work:

Kieran experienced his BOOM! Effect like an elastic band snapping, releasing and never going back. My research shows that others have reported the BOOM! Effect to be like an elastic band that very rapidly, suddenly unwinds, like the one on the propellor of a kid’s balsa wood plane.

~ Next Steps
I am now replicating the Kieran experiment with other individuals to see how well the protocol generalizes into the mainstream population.
~ Implications
There are a number of implications from the results of this Case Study:
When we are kids, our personalities change quite a bit over short amounts of time. It’s noticeable. If you haven’t seen your niece since she was eight, you will notice a significant change in her when you hang out with her again on her 12th birthday.
We are often surprised at that change, and we comment on it. It is rare, but not unknown, for a similar radical change to happen again in later life. A transcendental experience will do that.
A very effective transcendental experience is a Near Death Experience. Another is an unlooked for Epiphany, like suddenly experiencing the Peace That Passeth All UNDERSTANDING.
That’s a doozy. Lucid Dreaming can do it. A good dose of Brain Reprogramming and Applied Neuroplasticity can work wonders too of course.
In my Brain Reprogramming line of work, I frequently see the effects of these beneficial personality changes, very much like the changes in your niece, only in much later life, like Kieran.
I call these changes ‘Skips’. Like when an old vinyl record skips a track, that kind of idea. You ‘Skip’ out of your groove into a better track.
Now, it gets very interesting when one Skip provokes another Skip to happen. A bit like an avalanche effect. Cost Substitution Dynamics This SKIPPING phenomenon has also been reported with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
Regrettably, a TMS device is extremely cost prohibitive (on average US$750,000) and therefore requires that the Client pay regular visits to the nearest clinic for their treatments and never own the device.
By comparison, the devices used in Kieran’s Case Study can be purchased by the Client for US$2500 in total. Most importantly, the Client owns the devices and can have their treatments in the comfort of their own home whenever convenient and for as long as needed.
I predict this Assemblage will become the Gold Standard of treatment over the next five years.
