Spiritual vs Materialistic Theories of Science

This week, Nexus Podcast host Mark Solar invited me to debate the contentious topic of “science” since he correctly observed that while we share many points of agreement about geopolitics, my general way of looking at the world “scientifically” (as outlined in my book ‘Science Unshackled’) is nearly the total opposite of his way of looking at the world through the lense of a scientific materialist.

In this debate (which is actually more of a chat), Mark and I discuss whether or not modern science allows for a spiritual/psycho-physical substrate guiding the whole, and whether materialism can explain the realm of spirituality, or if a moral/spiritual foundation must lead in the dance of Mind and Matter.

In particular, we talk about whether or not there is meaning in the universe, or if meaning is a naive artifact of anthropomorphizing reality. We also address whether mind, and its power of reasoning purposefully is a natural part of the universe, or if the universe is a cold mechanical place separated from the realm of mind by an unbridgeable chasm. How can we know? Where to begin? Is there even a point to asking such big questions? Since this debate took place, at least you can be sure that we both had faith that an answer was possible…

(As a sidenote: If you haven’t had a chance to read Plato’s Protagoras dialogue—dealing with the question of man being the measure of all things- then I promise that it would make for a very fun and rewarding follow up to this chat).

Or watch the debate on Youtube here, Bitchute here or SoundCloud here

Of all things, ‘modern science’ is not a science at all. It is geared to self gratification and glory seeking. Solutions in search of a problem, and the more ludicrous the solution, the higher it is held. True intelligence is in the past.
Gone are the days of simplicity, and convoluted confusion is now how it works, for anything, for no benefit.

The Universe is a host, not something to be conquered. When the time comes, the Universe will be part of the understanding. Of course, due to the cyclical nature of all things, that understanding will eventually be lost, and Humanity will once again, wind down to where it is now, and so it repeats.
The reason for that? God must know everything, which, while Christians do not agree, It does not. Were that the case, Humanity would not need to exist. No need to put people through hell if the outcome is allready known, right?

Religion or belief in the existence of a source power is a science. While astronomy uses material objects to look and find answers, the individual uses intuition. That the logical minds cannot see any further than the lens of the telescope does not make my claim wrong.

The ‘Spiritual’ is something to be attained, and not a given. As a science, it will never be embraced since it does not require an external material method and provides no recordable proof, so is taken as simply ‘all in the mind’. In today’s cases, that is all it is, with claims of second births, kundalini, NDE and so forth.
There is a difference between Spiritual occurrences and mental gymnastics that may be believed to be the real thing.

Nobody commands the creator of all things, as is allways the case with claimed spiritual matters. At the moment I see mass delusion in the ‘spiritual communities’, with each driving the other in a never-ending loop.
Question them, and you will see the illusion at first hand as you are thrown to the wolves for asking simple questions.

Spirit does not exist for the major whole, yet those that are will never speak of it in a format that brings them any kind of gain, or gratification.
It is not about the self…

How do I have a double post? It was only one after it was submitted, and for a day after, now there’s two.

Many models in science are successful/accepted not because they are accurate, tested, empirical but because they fit criteria for belief, foremost amongst this criteria being whether or not other people who you respect, emulate, or simply have encountered also believe it. This happens to us on a subconscious level so we are not aware of it. It is a survival mechanism that has the deepest roots in what we believe about ourselves and the meaning of our existence.

This is why so much of science is a sh1t show. For example, this is why people believe plainly stupid notions, like the belief that when water evaporates in earth’s atmosphere it becomes gaseous. You can show people an H2O phase diagram and they will just ignore it. Their minds shut down. They literally can’t think.

Most people go their whole lives believing themselves to be rational arbiters of truth. This is the deepest of human delusions.
