With Australia and the world now facing an energy crisis, suddenly nuclear is no longer a dirty word.
Increasingly, European nations are embracing it as an emissions-free option and here in Australia, the question is this: faced with soaring electricity prices and supply problems, why not seriously think about going nuclear?
Nuclear energy scares many people but are those fears reasonable? We could produce all of our energy from nuclear right now but the main obstacle is really psychological.
People have long confused nuclear energy with actual weapons. The way power plants work has nothing to do with that. WATCH:

I work the energy sector and can attest, nuclear is not carbon neutral. It’s a meme. It’s like saying owning a home is cheaper than renting. It’s not. Only people that DON’T sit down and list every little detail then balance that against the carbon reduction think it’s a free meal. Again, nuclear is NOT carbon neutral! No more than that EV car was carbon neutral and you’d have to drive it for 20 years (without any breakdowns or battery replacement) to break even- I’ve done the math, trust on that much!
The only real available solution, in order of “greenness” is wave/tidal motion capture (still experimental), hydro, solar then probably wind- though the last two have issues. namely the units don’t last long and take a lot of energy to produce replacement parts and add transportation etc…

I think everyone should embrace nuclear power, it’s the safest industry in the world.
