Scottish University Will Rename David Hume Tower After George Floyd

The University of Edinburgh in Scotland announced that it would rename a university building after George Floyd on Thursday. The Hume Tower was previously named after Scottish Enlightenment philosopher David Hume, who is thought of as a notable classical liberal philosopher.

The Hume Tower will now be known as 40 George Floyd. The prestigious university, located in Scotland’s capital city, explained in a statement that the renaming was taking place because “of the sensitivities around asking students to use a building named after the 18th century philosopher whose comments on matters of race, though not uncommon at the time, rightly cause distress today.

Many of Hume’s ideas and publications had influenced the American Revolution and later European movements against absolute monarchy.

The University of Edinburgh claims that the strange renaming is only temporary, but give no timeframe as to when the tower will be reverted to its original name, or changed back at all. They’re probably setting up some clueless, feckless university administrator to back down in the face of militant liberal activists who demand that the Floyd name be honored in perpetuity.

Floyd is primarily known for his controversial death during an arrest in the Minneapolis Police Department, in which the fentanyl and methamphetamine-intoxicated felon died under highly questionable circumstances. Floyd had been convicted earlier in life for participating in an armed home invasion robbery that earned him a prison sentence of several years.

It seems that Floyd has been canonized as a saint of ideological American liberalism, going to the point where he is honored in other countries with no connection to the Texas and Minnesota native.

Great! Well done U o Edinb!
You are such a beacon of light is these troubled times.
Thank you so much for renaming the tower, honoring it with the name of one of the greatest American thinkers of this century, fit for a university of your caliber.
A truly magnificent and necessary step forward whilst redeeming those who tried hard to establish their merit but were purposefully pushed aside for obvious reasons.
Let George Floyd be a role model for our youth; his life quotes and wisdoms wil keep humbling us all.

Einstein’s reply is a svelte, cultured work of art.
Moffin’s reply is uncouth, as are the impositions enforced without informed democratic process.

This is a clear case of “cultural misappropriation”.
The theft of another culture’s and country’s cultural identity and ethnic treasures is all too common by those who do not respect diversity and minority groups. The committee responsible for this has obviously had no training.
They should develop their own cultural customs such as burning the kilt, and for those especially guilt ridden for not being members of a minority group, burn their own kilt while still wearing it.

The next step is to burn down all writings by Hume and have George Floyd apocrypha published as if it was the revelation of the secret source of Western Philosophy. That would please the goyeshekopf’s masters.

    Fake news is everywhere.
The tower is located in George Square.
Renaming it has nothing to do with George Floyd and everything to do with location.
And maybe a bit of not liking David Hume all that much.

I have every sympathy with anybody who has suffered adversely due to his race or colour. White supremacy is often touted about negatively but surely it is merely one group of people doing what humans do which is looking after its own whether it is a nation, race team or family. Thats what we do. I think a good question to ask is would it be any different if the position was reversed and we had a history of white slavery and black supremacy?

You should study the history of slavery and find out how many white people have been in slavery and how many black people have been and still are held in slavery by other black people,

“White supremacy” is a joke. There is no such thing. There may be individuals that still consider themselves to be better than others, but it is not a “racial trait.” It is always a tool of fools trying to excuse their own lack of motivation or effort. To blame all whites for the actions of a few would be no different than blaming all blacks for the likes of BLM.

I do not pretend to be colorblind, but judge people from my own experiences with them. My level of expectation is driven by prior experience and yes, it differs according to ethnicity to some degree. That doesn’t mean I am a “supremacist” because I happen to be mostly Irish, thus am “white,” it means I think for myself, and decide for myself, and not by someone else’s playbook.

“We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories. And I think that what we really tried to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk.” — Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Marxist Black Lives Matter.

Have you noticed that everyone is pretending that George and Derek aren’t friends, doing security together at the El Nuevo Rodeo club on Lake Street![1] The media has spiked the story that the two worked with each other at the club, and Derek has refused to admit the association, informing us that George is a police informant.

That informs us of the Marxist ‘false opposition’ fake ‘conservative’ media, hand-in-hand with these false flag operations the Marxist mainstream media regurgitates, the purpose being to cement racial animosity, the ultimate purpose being the “abolition of religion”, and the destruction of those civilizations “whose spiritual aroma is religion”.[2]

By the way, how does someone with a violent criminal record get to be doing night club security work with police officers! He gets the gig because the criminal is a police informer:

“The head of the Minneapolis police union says George Floyd’s “violent criminal history” needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a “terrorist movement.”

“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter posted Monday on Twitter.

Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.”

    CONTRADICTIONS AND HILARIOUS BACKTRACKING

El Nuevo Rodeo club owner, Maya Santamaria, caught in a lie, where in early reports she says Derek only worked outside the club, therefore Derek didn’t know George who worked inside the club, “Chauvin was our off-duty police for almost the entirety of the 17 years that we were open,” Santamaria said. “They were working together at the same time, it’s just that Chauvin worked outside and the security guards were inside.” But another club security employee, David Pinney, says Derek worked inside the club, “Derek [was] extremely aggressive within the club with some of the patrons, which was an issue.”

Maya Santamaria caught in another lie where she’s reported saying both Derek and George worked together up to the end of the year (2019), “A former club owner in south Minneapolis says the now-fired police officer and the black man who died in his custody this week both worked security for her club up to the end of last year.” But now the story has changed, where David Pinney details “several interactions he said occurred between Floyd and Chauvin, claiming the duo worked together for up to six months in late 2015 and early 2016.”

Then Maya Santamaria plants both feet into the manure, inadvertently incriminating herself as a racist enabler by allowing Derek for seventeen yeas to abuse Blacks, “I told him I thought this is unnecessary to be pepper-sprayed. The knee-jerk reaction of being afraid, it seemed overkill,” Santamaria said. “It was a concern and I did voice my opinion, but police officers have a way of justifying what they do.”

Naturally, of course, Maya never spoke to Derek about breaking up fights between Blacks who were fighting, but the lie has caught her as a ‘racist enabler’ in this race-based false flag drama. If Derek had been abusing anyone at the club, he would have been fired, not working at the club for seventeen years until the club closed in December 2019.

Then David Pinney took back an account that George and Derek knew each other well within the club. Why was this account changed? Because “she [Maya Santamaria] did not have a close relationship with him [George] as I did”. Huh? Pinney recants his account of both George and Derek knowing each other well, where Pinney says Derek was aggressive towards George, because Maya Santamaria did not know George well? That makes no sense, and tells us Pinney spoke off script, tripping over the truth.

    Solution

The West will form new political parties where candidates are vetted for Marxist ideology/blackmail, the use of the polygraph to be an important tool for such vetting. Then the West can finally liberate the globe of vanguard Communism.

[2] Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right, Karl Marx (1843)

“The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion.”

    …and…

“The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is
required for their real happiness. The demand to give up the illusion
about its condition is the demand to give up a condition which needs
    illusions.”

    …and…

“It is, therefore, the task of history, once the other-world of truth has vanished, to establish the truth of this world.”

Now you know what Marxists are referring to when they utter the phrase, “The Struggle”…

“The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion.
