About 9 months ago, I posted an article to this forum, it was about how the EU makes law. Since then, it has been viewed over 30,000 times. The chance of something like this being published, before the worldwide web, would have approached zero. But 30,000 thought it sufficiently interesting to take a look.
The old days of establishment control, where ideas could be effectively censored from books, newspapers, television and radio, have gone. Internet publishing opened the door after decades of the establishment doing its best to eliminate new ideas. It had a cringing fear that ideas would feed ideology and bring back the political hell of the mid-20th century where ideology caused millions of people to act in a robotic and inhuman way. They tempted fate, thinking starving ideology of ideas would keep the monster in check.

Scientists have discovered a star 200 light-years from Earth that may hold the building blocks for life.
The white dwarf star spotted in the constellation Boötes has an atmosphere rich in carbon and nitrogen, and even the ingredients for water.
Researchers say the planetary system tied to this star could be much like our own solar system, suggesting that some of the components that give rise to life are not all that uncommon.

Scientists studied the volcanic system at Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, which has been dormant for more than 700 years, according to a hazard assessment by Verkis Consulting Engineers for Invest in Iceland.

For several years, some commentators who deal with historic temperature data in their daily work, such as Joe D’Aleo of ICECAP, have stated that warming trends suddenly appeared in areas in which there were no such trend previously, such as the state of Maine.
Until about 2011, the government published data showed no trend from 1900 to present. Suddenly, government published historic data showed a warming trend of about 3 degrees F. Tony Heller (who goes by Steve Goddard) has followed this issue, graphically showing that trends appeared in recently published historic data, where earlier historic data showed none.

A mysterious weather phenomenon called blue jets and red sprites has baffled scientists for years, and NASA still has no explanation for what appear to be lighting bolts that shoot up toward space rather than down to the ground.
European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen captured the flashes of light on video in 2015 while he was on the International Space Station. He talked about witnessing the upward and colorful flashes of lighting during the presentation above.
