Nuclear Physicist DEBUNKS Greenpeace Nuclear Energy LIES

In today’s eye-opening video, Elina Charatsidou, a nuclear physicist, tackles some of the biggest misconceptions and outright falsehoods about nuclear energy perpetuated by Greenpeace on their website.

Since Greenpeace have had a lot to say over recent years about nuclear energy, Charatsidou’s mission was to fact check their website and statements regarding nuclear energy. From their general website and mission statement nothing stands out as incorrect but the moment you open their nuclear energy page you are confronted with the statement “Nuclear energy is dirty, dangerous and expensive. Say no to new nukes” and this statement is wildly inaccurate.

The mention of the word nukes, when these types of weapons are commonly called nuclear weapons is meant to evoke a specific image of nuclear energy in the mind of the reader. This statement is incredibly misleading and is using terminology that is not usually applied to nuclear energy and the nuclear industry.
