NASA’s Mars InSight lander’s days appear numbered
Recent photos from NASA’s Mars InSight lander demonstrate that even the Register readers’ filthiest PCs cannot compare to the effects of Martian dust.
Although consequences of poor PC hygiene can result in blocked fans, overheating silicon, and even the odd dried animal corpse, a build-up of dust on spacecraft solar panels can cause a permanent cessation of activity on the surface of the Red Planet.
Case in point – Mars InSight.
The lander went quiet in January as it dropped into safe mode during a dust storm which reduced the sunlight reaching its solar panels. It has since clawed its way back to a semblance of normal operations as the storm settled but… well… just look at it.

The above image was transmitted to Earth last weekend and, unless a passing dust devil clears away some of the grot, it appears the lander’s days are numbered.
NASA’s engineers remain optimistic and a spokesperson from JPL told The Register the team was assessing the effects of the latest dust dump and reckoned that the impact appeared small. However, “it can take many weeks for all of the dust to settle out of the atmosphere, and we won’t know the full extent of the reduction in power for some time.”
InSight is on borrowed time. All its primary science objectives (excepting the unfortunate mole) are complete, and the probe is on an extended mission, funded through December 2022.
Will it make it that far?
The spokesperson told us: “Within the next year, the team expects the power level to get low enough that science operations will come to a close.”
During a recent presentation in a Mars Exploration Program Analysis Meeting, InSight principal investigator William Banerdt warned energy levels could drop below that required to operate the lander’s instruments in the May-June timeframe.
Another attempt to remove some of the dust by sprinkling sand on one of the arrays is planned for the coming days but barring a statistically unlikely natural cleaning event (like those experienced by the Spirit and Opportunity rovers) the dust accumulation will continue and operations will come to an end.
So if your PC is a dusty horror, you don’t have the excuse of it being millions of miles away for not giving it a jolly good cleaning.

If you believe there is a small vehicle-like machine on mars, placed there by NASA, roving around collecting and transmitting data to earth, you have been deeply deceived.
A cursory investigation of nasa reveals video of nasa employees, ‘astronauts’, and politicians as high as the office of the president (0bama) stating publicly that all ‘moon landing’ data and technology have been lost, and that nasa is still seeking to go farther than “low earth orbit”.
There are multiple images and videos of ‘astronauts’ stating they never landed on the moon and, moreover, of these same astronauts making freemasonic hand gestures (for example, Aldrin was openly a high degree mason). You can also find nasa employees celebrating en mass with ‘satanic’ hand gestures.
Then, interestingly, there are all of nasa’s 666s. For example, according to NASA, the earth’s orbital inclination around the Sun is 66.6 degrees, the earth orbits the sun at 66,600 mph, the speed of sound is 666 kps, the force of gravity is 666 newtons… The list goes on to include key nasa reports numbered 666, and media releases stating the certain ‘astronauts’ spent 666 days in space.
Regardless of how opposed you may be to entertaining ‘conspiracies’, you must admit that something is not right here. Remember, much of what was recently called ‘covid conspiracy’ or ‘misinformation’ has now been shown to be true.

This website seems to love to write about “space”. “gravity”, the “globe”, and all the other absolute nonsense that is clearly science fiction. Most of the nitwits just suck it all in just as they have been indoctrinated to do. The earth is clearly not a globe. Mars is actually a wandering star whatever that is. Certainly not a planet in space that has a rover on it.
Most all the so called stars and planets look entirely different than NASA CGI when viewed through a Nikon P900 camera on high zoom. Most look like pulsating water reflections similar to what you see on the bottom of a swimming pool on a sunny day. Perhaps it’s the lights of heaven shining through the waters above and the firmament.

Mirage?? Glad you mentioned it Howdy. See a “mirage” would present an upside down image if it was a true mirage. For example the Chicago city skyline when viewed from Michigan. It should not be viewable due to the so called “curvature” of the baal earth. (Not a ball and curvature does not exist) Yet people have seen it across the lake and thus curvature is a fraud. So the “authorities” and their inbred owned media proclaim it’s a mirage. But mirages are always upside down. Yet the Chicago skyline is right side up?
How can that be? Because the earth is flat and the viewer is seeing Chicago across the lake when the visual conditions are favorable. No mirage.

Not sure what to think of this site? Obvious spaceball promoters up in this place. All one has to do is research the fake “Moon Landings” to start the journey to the truth. Along the way they will see that constellations are the exact same as they were over 3000 years ago. Not possible in a supposed ever expanding Universe. They will see that Noon is still Noon 6 months later. Again not possible on a ball earth. They will discover that Orion’s belt can be seen on the Summer Solstice as well as the Winter Solstice certainly not possible on a globe.
They will discover that no curvature exists. They will see that the Moon is nowhere to be found during a so called eclipse. They will discover that crepuscular rays from the sun could never happen with a nuke furnace that never goes out 93 million miles away. They will realize that a globe spinning at one revolution per day with a 24,000 plus mile circumference produces a tip speed of over 1000 MPH at the equator and a pirouette at the poles yet no difference is felt and somehow “gravity” just somehow magically and deliciously adjusts to keep trillions of tons of oceans affixed at a spin of 1000 MPH and just right at the pirouette zones at the poles. Yeah right it just all works out doesn’t it?
