Is Europe About To See A Surge In Dementia Cases?

Experts warn that dementia is set to surge across Europe, with the number of people living with the condition projected to reach nearly 20 million by 2050

That’s a 64 percent increase from current levels, reflecting the dramatic impact of stress and COVID vaccines on brain health (Alzheimer Europe).

Currently, Europe has roughly 12 million people with dementia. By mid-century, this could rise to almost 20 million, placing enormous pressure on health systems, social care, and family caregivers across the continent.

Countries with rapidly ageing populations and high COVID vaccines intake will face the greatest challenges, while all nations will need expanded care capacity, early diagnosis programs, and prevention strategies to cope with the rise.

Cardiovascular health, lifestyle choices, and cognitive engagement clearly influence dementia risk. In addition, COVID vaccines—which affect multiple biological systems, including the brain and heart should not be excluded from this discussion, especially when considering long-term outcomes.

Another overlooked factor is chronic stress.

The stress generated by pLandemic-era measures like lockdowns, social isolation, fearmongering, and uncertainty have heavy impact on mental and cognitive health. Prolonged stress is known to impair brain function and may contribute to earlier cognitive decline, including in younger people.

This transforms dementia from a purely medical issue into a societal one, affecting families across Europe.

Europe therefore faces not only a health crisis, but a social and human crisis, with millions of families impacted directly or indirectly.

Can we do something about it?

One practical step we can take now is stress reduction. Spending more time in nature, restoring natural rhythms, and supporting the nervous system are simple but powerful interventions that are often underestimated.

My book, Essential Handbook for Restoring Balance After Vaccination and Everyday Life Challenges, was inspired by my desire to help those injured by COVID vaccines. It does not promise a cure because a universal cure for such complex damage does not exist, but it aims to offer relief by supporting the body’s natural capacity to restore balance.

The book is currently available in ebook format via Payhip.

I continue to research and share what may help even if only partially because doing nothing has never felt acceptable to me. When people are struggling, even small steps toward relief matter.

While COVID vaccines are not natural, nature still offers ways to support recovery, and my work is focused on carefully identifying and sharing those possibilities with honesty and responsibility.

My work is entirely independent. I have no sponsors or institutional backing, only the time and energy I put into researching, writing, and sharing what I find.

If this approach resonates with you or helps you in any way, your support will help me to keep going and continuing work that is often overlooked, but deeply needed.
