Global Warming Pseudoscience Will Wreck The US Economy

In his book Unsettled, Dr. Steve Koonin uses publicly available data to refute all of the claims of the proponents of the global warming hypothesis as relates to ‘extreme weather’ events and rising sea levels.

In my book Global Warming: The Great Deception, I refute all of the pseudoscience employed by the proponents of the fraudulent global warming hypothesis, using proven first principles of science in the disciplines of thermodynamics, spectroscopy, atmospheric physics, and quantum mechanics.

Peer-reviewed, published scientific research demonstrates that the world’s temperature databases for the lower atmosphere, landmasses, and oceans depict virtually no increase in the average temperature of the Earth over the period that satellites and submersible floats have measured temperature.

Since 1979, NOAA satellites using microwave-sounding technology have measured an increase in the average temperature anomaly of the lower troposphere (first 8 km of the Earth’s atmosphere) of only 0.13° C/decade, or 0.013° C /yr.

Since 2005, when NOAA inaugurated the Argo Float Program, the temperature of the world’s oceans has reportedly increased by 0.02° C/decade, or 0.002° C/yr.

NOAA reports that the temperature of the Earth’s land mass has increased by 2° F during the period 1880–2020, an increase of 0.014 F°/yr., during a time when thermometers were graduated to 1, 3, and 5° F. Arguably, all of these measurements are within the measurement margin of error.

Unbiased, scientific analysis demonstrates that CO2 has virtually no effect on the Earth’s climate; it is all about water vapor.

The concept of an average temperature of the Earth is an abstraction — a figment of the climate scientist’s imagination, conjured up in an effort to prove a fraudulent hypothesis.

The Earth is never in thermal equilibrium; the temperature of the Earth is different at every point in time and space. The average temperature of the Earth has no meaning in scientific analysis; it cannot be measured, and an effort to calculate it is nonsensical.

To set a goal for man to limit the increase in the “average temperature” of the Earth to 1.5° C over any period of time is folly. Temperature is a proxy for the average kinetic energy of the molecules in a system. Man has no more control over the climate of the Earth than the forces of gravity.

If all of this is true (and it is), then why are the U.S. and Western Europe permitting the pseudoscience of global warming to threaten to wreck the world’s economies?

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) fired the first salvo in the war on the carbon atom in its seminal report in 1990.

It declared that if the world continued to emit CO2 at the then current rate, “this will result in a likely increase in global mean temperature of about 1° C (3.8° F) by 2025.” The publicly available temperature data above prove that prediction to be false.

After taking office, President Biden joined the war on the carbon atom by opening a front against the U.S. energy sector. He canceled the Keystone XL pipeline project permit and froze the leasing of prospective oil-producing properties in ANWR.

Then, in a further nod to the left-wing of the Democrat party, on December 8, 2021, Biden signed an executive order that set a goal of “100 percent carbon pollution-free electricity (CFE) by 2030, at least half of which will be locally supplied clean energy to meet 24/7 demand.”

In 2021, 60 percent of the electricity produced in the U.S. came from ‘fossil fuel’–powered plants, 20 percent from nuclear plants, and 20 percent from renewable energy sources. Wind and solar energy production in 2021 accounted for 12% of the total electrical energy output.

While it may be possible to increase the capacity of wind and solar electricity production in the next 5–10 years, the big problem remains the unreliability of wind and solar energy sources.

They are vulnerable to changes in weather (clouds obstruct sunshine, and the wind does not blow) as well as extreme weather events, as the recent experience in Texas demonstrates.

Permitting nuclear power plants remains a challenge. On Feb. 9, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission voted to permit the first nuclear power plant to be built in the U.S. in over 30 years, over the objections of its chairman, who voiced safety concerns.

It is not possible to replace 60 percent of electric power production in the U.S. by 2030 with alternative energy sources.

Such a mandate would require a rapid increase in wind and solar plant construction and operation, and ‘fossil fuel’ generation would still be required to serve as a backup when renewable energy sources fail.

Those ‘fossil fuel’ plants that remained in operation would be required to purchase carbon credits to offset emissions to achieve 100 percent ‘carbon-free’ operations.

But CO2 emissions will not be reduced by buying carbon credits. The only benefactor of such a policy are those firms that trade carbon credits.

The consumer will pay the price for higher, more unreliable energy costs.

It is the height of naïveté to think our economic competitors in the world like China and India will wreck their economies based on a fraudulent global warming hypothesis.

I completely agree. Global warming is as fraudulent as germ theory. I am sure there is a tie in somewhere as they both seek to control humanity in some way.

“The pseudoscience will wreck the US economy.” It has already happened in Germany and is well under way here.

The German periodical” Business Leaders” has started a running list of companies leaving Germany because of rising production costs. As of 14 September the list included about 40 departing companies, including Ford, BMW, Thysssen-Krupp Steel, Swiss Steel, and Heinz-Glass & Plastics Group (founded in 1622).

    https://notrickszone.com/2022/09/25/german-industry-collapse-companies-leaving-in-droves-can-no-longer-bear-cost-explosion/

What is profoundly amazing about this decades-old collapse here and abroad is the silence that seems to be the only response of business, and even business organizations, not only to this news (if they know it at all), but by the witless complacency they seem to exhibit while the environmentalist-Luddite tide sweeps away civilized modern life and its bounty (prosperity and better health).

Hi Tom (the first) and PSI Readers,

I almost again made my common mistake of not reading the article before making a comment about a your comment “Global warming is as fraudulent as germ theory”. Now that I have read the article and pondered what Guy wrote and what you wrote, I no longer agree with all that Guy wrote and then with what you wrote.

Guy began: “In his book Unsettled, Dr. Steve Koonin uses publicly available data to refute all of the claims of the proponents of the global warming hypothesis.” I terminate how Guy continued in his statement because it suggests that the data did not refute ALL the claims. Therefore, it seems Guy believes he can complete the job by reasoning with the “first principles of science”.

I agree with Richard Feynman, who in a 1966 lecture, stated: “The third aspect of my subject is that of science as a method of finding things out. This method is based on the principle that observation is the judge of whether something is so or not.” (The Meaning Of It All, 1998). Data is the product of the observations which Koonin cited and nothing more (unless it is a new observation) can be needed. I must add, that any new data cannot make the previous observations (data) false unless there was previous experimental error involved.

    Have a good day, Jerry

(Jerry I still haven’t found out why you keep showing up in the moderation bin which forces me to approve them every time I come to the admin board it appears it is time for me to get the blog owner involved and maybe with WordPress too, really sorry that you have been putting up with this irritating experience) SUNMOD

Can anyone in this audience tell me when their body feels a room temperature difference of 1 degree Celsius?
I would be astonished if you could.
Fish, animals, and plants all live with drastic temperature changes of 10-30 degrees C, or more. How is it they adapt and survive these ‘seasonal fluctuations’? Miraculous!
I imagine if you tell the American Black Bear, who lives through temperature changes each year from well below freezing to extreme heat that he will die if his winter is less cold, he will first laugh, then claw the skin off your face.

      Hi Kevin Doyle.
When it is 0 degrees celsius the good people of Rhode Island have a saying, “it is cold today”.
When it is minus one degrees celsius those same good people say, “bluedy hell luv, it be freezing”.

Another thing that galls me, is the fact that so many ignorant people believe the AGW Theory just because it is told to them on TV.
AND… they vote for the fraudulent politicians that push the fraudulent claims.
The dishonesty of the left-wing politicos is unacceptable and they must be voted out of office. IMO.

    Hi MattH and PSI Readers,

Looked for your comment about the recent January 2022 volcanic eruption and could not find it. And I looked for the following 2018 article to see if it had been posted here at PSI, and I could not find that it had.

is a very good historical article, which when coupled with modern technology is something I can trust. Which I encourage everyone to read and ask: Is history and the Earth’s weather being repeated?

To all of the readers and those posting comments:
You must get in their face every time Climate change is mentioned. Fight, but few of you do!
To all of the teachers, engineers, and scientists who participate and do not speak up, I have particular disdain.

After watching a circa 1997 indoctrination video as part of his assignment, my 6th Grade Grandson refused to provide the answers expected. Instead, he type in the refutation of the doctrine for each of the 5 questions. He received an F. Next day, new assignment, more refutations of another video. He received another F. This cost him a perfect report card. He stood up, he’s god damned 11.
    What is your excuse
