Until 1975, homosexuality was recognized for what it is, a developmental disorder.

For more than 20 years, I and a few psychiatrists have felt like an embattled minority, because we have continued to insist that gays aren’t born that way.
For most of this (20th) century, we have considered this behavior aberrant…a pathology. We had patients who would seek out one sex partner after another-total strangers-on a single night, then come limping into our offices the next day to tell us how they were hurting themselves. Since we were in the business of helping people learn how not to keep hurting themselves, many of us thought we were quietly doing God’s work.
Now, in the opinion of those who make up the so-called cultural elite, our view is “out of date.” The elite says we hurt people more than we help them, and that we belong in one of the century’s dustbins. They have managed to sell this idea to a great many Americans, thereby making homosexuality fashionable and raising formerly aberrant behavior to the status of an “alternate lifestyle.”
HOMOSEXUAL REVOLUTION ORCHESTRATED
How did this change come about? Well, the revolution did not just happen…
It was all part of a plan, as one gay publication put it, “to make the whole world gay.” I am not making this up.
You can read an account of the campaign in Dennis Altman’s The Homosexualization of America. In 1982 Altman, himself gay, reported with an air of elation that more and more Americans were thinking like gays and acting like gays. There were engaged, that is, “in numbers of short-lived sexual adventures either in place of or alongside long-term relationships.”
Altman cited the heterosexual equivalents of gay saunas and the emergence of the swinging singles scene as proofs that “promiscuity and ‘impersonal sex’ are determined more by social possibilities than by inherent differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals, or even between men and women.”
Heady stuff. Gays said they could “reinvent human nature, reinvent themselves.” To do this, these re-inventors had to clear away one major obstacle. No, they didn’t go after the nation’s clergy. They targeted the members of a worldly priesthood, the psychiatric community, and neutralized them with a radical redefinition of homosexuality itself.
In 1972 and 1973 they co-opted the leadership of the American Psychiatric Association and, through a series of political manoeuvres, lies and outright flim-flams, they “cured” homosexuality overnight-by fiat. They got the A.P.A. to say that same-sex sex was “not a disorder.” It was merely “a condition”-as neutral as left-handedness.
HATRED, INTIMIDATION & INTOLERANCE
This amounted to full approval of homosexuality. Those of us who did not go along with the political redefinition were soon silenced at our own professional meetings. Our lectures were cancelled inside academe and our research papers turned down in the learned journals. Worse things followed in the culture at large. Television and movie producers began to do stories promoting homosexuality as a legitimate lifestyle.

A gay review board told Hollywood how it should deal with or not deal with homosexuality. Mainstream publishers turned down books that objected to the gay revolution. Gays and lesbians influenced sex education in our nation’s schools, and gay and lesbian libbers seized wide control of faculty committees in our nations’ colleges. State legislatures nullified laws against sodomy.
If the print media paid any attention at all, they tended to hail the gay revolution, possibly because many of the reporters on gay issues were themselves gay and open advocates for the movement. And those reporters who were not gay seemed too intimidated by groupthink to expose what was going on in their own newsrooms.
And now, what happens to those of us who stand up and object? Gay activists have already anticipated that. They have created a kind of conventional wisdom: that we suffer from homophobia, a disease that has actually been invented by gays projecting their own fear on society. And we are bigots besides, because, they say, we fail to deal with gays compassionately.
Gays are now no different than people born black or Hispanic or physically challenged. Since gays are born that way and have no choice about their sexual orientation, anyone who calls same-sex sex an aberration is now a bigot. Un-American, too. Astoundingly now, college freshmen come home for their first Thanksgiving to announce, “Hey, Mom! Hey, Dad! We’ve taken the high moral ground. We’ve joined the gay revolution.”
My wife, Clare, who has an unerring aptitude for getting to the heart of things, said one day recently in passing, “I think everybody’s being brainwashed.” That gave me a start. I know “brainwashing” is a term that has been used and overused. But my wife’s casual observation only reminded me of a brilliant tract I had read several years ago and then forgotten. It was called After the Ball: How America Will Conquer its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the 1990s, by Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen.
That book turned out to be the blueprint gay activists would use in their campaign to normalize the abnormal through a variety of brainwashing techniques once catalogued by Robert Jay Lifton in his seminal work, Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism: A Study of Brainwashing in China.
These activists got the media and the money to radicalize America-by processes known as desensitization, jamming and conversion. They would desensitize the public by selling the notion that gays were “just like everyone else.” This would make the engine of prejudice run out of steam, i.e., lull straights into an attitude of indifference.
They would jam the public by shaming them into a kind of guilt at their own “bigotry.” Kirk and Madsen wrote:
All normal persons feel shame when they perceive that they are not thinking, feeling, or acting like one of the pack….The trick is to get the bigot into the position of feeling a conflicting twinge of shame…when his homo-hatred surfaces.
Thus, propagandistic advertisement can depict homophobic and homo-hating bigots as crude loudmouths….
It can show them being criticized, hated, shunned. It can depict gays experiencing horrific suffering as the direct result of homo-hatred-suffering of which even most bigots would be ashamed to be the cause.
Finally-this was the process they called conversion-Kirk and Madsen predicted a mass public change of heart would follow, even among bigots, “if we can actually make them like us.” They wrote, “Conversion aims at just this…conversion of the average American’s emotions, mind, and will, through a planned psychological attack, in the form of propaganda fed to the nation via the media.”
In the movie “Philadelphia” we see the shaming technique and the conversion process working at the highest media level. We saw Tom Hank’s character suffering (because he was gay and had AIDS) at the hands of bigots in his Philadelphia law firm. Not only were we ashamed of the homophobic behavior of the villainous straight lawyers in the firm; we felt nothing but sympathy for the suffering Hanks.
(Members of the Motion Picture Academy felt so much sympathy they gave Hanks an Oscar.) Our feelings helped fulfil Kirk and Madsen’s strategy: “to make Americans hold us in warm regard, whether they like it or not.”
Few dared speak out against “Philadelphia” as an example of the kind of propaganda Kirk and Madsen had called for. By then, four years after the publication of the Kirk-Madsen blueprint, the American public had already been programmed. Homosexuality was now simply “an alternate lifestyle.”
Best of all, because of the persuaders embedded in thousands of media messages, society’s acceptance of homosexuality seemed one of those spontaneous, historic turnings in time-yes, a kind of conversion. Nobody quite knew how it happened, but the nation had changed. We had become more sophisticated, more loving toward all, even toward those “afflicted” with the malady-excuse me, condition.
By 1992 the President of the United States said it was the time that people who were openly gay and lesbian should not be ousted from the nation’s armed forces. In 1993 the nation’s media celebrated a huge outpouring of gay pride in Washington, D.C. Television viewers chanted along with half a million marchers, “Two, four, six, eight! Being gay is really great.” We felt good about ourselves.
We were patriotic Americans. We had abolished one more form of discrimination, wiped out one of society’s most enduring afflictions: homophobia.
Best of all, we knew now that gay was good, gay was free.

Homosexuality Destroys A Society for two reasons:
1) On a strictly biological level it is indeed deviant behavior. Biologically the only real purpose of life is to survive long enough to reproduce and continue the passing on of your DNA and the species.
2) On a cultural level allowing homos to legally marry starts a cultural down a very slippery slope. Once you allow homo marriage then how can a culture stop any other type of marriage. Such as polygamy , or incestuous marriages. If two men or two women are allowed to marry because they ” love each other” then why can’t a brother and sister or two 1st cousins marry for the exact same reason???
Homosexuality will never be a ‘healthy alternative’ lifestyle. It is depraved, grotesque, unhealthy, unholy, warped and wicked. They are physically, mentally, and emotionally broken people with a vile and insatiable appetite to make the whole world as broken as they.

Can’t say that described even one gay person I’ve known. They are very like all of us. Work,family,home,pets,hobbies. I always recall the Rep senator who lacerated homosexuality at every turn but was found with a male intern in his own office. He was no doubt tortured by his inclinations did everything to stop them but truth will out wether we like it or not.
The Christians amongst us need to have a more detached view of Bible ‘truths’. It’s a much tampered book and sometimes it’s best to live and let live,to love thy neighbour as thy self and keep an open heart and mind. If their is a loving God then let him love all of us.

Actually it isn’t about depopulation. It’s about the downward spiral of society due to idol worship. When society denies/rejects the God of the bible, He turns them over to the wickedness that lies in their own hearts, see Romans 1. All that is happening is spiritual. When Abraham talked with God in Genesis 18, he asked if God would spare Sodom if there were any righteous…there were not. Sodom had become so vile, so wicked. Perversion was widespread, sexual sin was rampant. God poured down His wrath. Once again we see society headed for judgment. The push for acceptance of perversion, pedophilia, transgenderism, etc will lead to the destruction of mankind. It all starts with idolatry, worshiping that which is false. America is filled with dead churches, dead religion, false gods. We are reaping what we have sown.

I once read of a study which claimed 45% of male homosexuals would be cured with simple testorene jabs and another 45% with a pill which affected how they responded to pheromones in the air. leaving those conducting the study with just 10% they couldn’t cure with chemicals. I will have to see if I can find it again, it was about 20 years ago I read that.
Anyone else read of any similar studies?

Chemicals change the way the brain operates, so small wonder a change appears, but what about side effects. Does it effect a cure? Of course not, it simply hides the truth.

I do not believe at all that it is a widespread mental health problem. Such appears closed-minded to me. As for the moral facet? BS! Like anything else in this God forsaken world, it has been used for agenda driven purposes. Should a same sex couple live near me their life is there own. None of my business. I don’t shun them because of their way of living. Is it a moral issue to me? No, I would be immoral for judging somebody based on their own choices in how they live their life. Indeed, in genuine cases, it is not a choice at all.

Homosexual and bisexual behavior is common in other primates (bonobos), mammals (lions sheep, cattle, bats, dolphins), and birds (vultures, ostriches, penguins). I think it is a natural phenomenon and should not be considered somehow un-natural or deviate. (In Ancient Greece it was accepted as a way for warriors to bond.)
I recall an article (don’t ask me where) that showed when a pregnant rabbit ingested a certain mold her male offspring exhibited homosexual behavior so there may well be a chemical that alters development leading to this behavior, as well as social factor.

Hi. The article you are referring to is “The Effect of Fungal Toxins on the Sexual Behavior of Rabbits” Nutrition and Health, 1987 Vol 5, No.1/2 pp 95-97. The test animals were fed a meal which included a fungus, Fusarium roseum, which produces an estrogenic molecule. All the male rabbits became infertile, non-aggressive towards other males and exhibited “homosexual behavior” (the male rabbits cuddled with other males and “repeatedly mounted one another as in copulation”)…the treated male rabbits withdrew from female rabbits, and only 1/12 showed “a willingness to copulate with a female rabbit on isolated occasions.” The authors found it interesting that these major behavioral changes occurred after one administration of mycelium from the fungus. Perhaps they were just fortunate in having the rabbits ingest the estrogen at a vulnerable period, if that, in fact was the cause.
Does the same apply to humans who also have mammalian brains? I don’t know. I suspect the genetic diversity of humans means, if early estrogen exposure is an actual influence on sexual behavior, that there would be a wide range of effects including no effects.

That explains homosexuality. It is NOT a mental illness, it is not a result of not being parented correctly. It is birthed from ‘LUST’, just as Romans 1 states. Men lusting after men, women lusting after women. Why? Because they are ‘depraved’ in their minds, they cannot discern right from wrong because of their own sinful desires. They go after that which is against nature, which means man with woman and woman with man.
We need to bear in mind there are those who came from ‘normal’ upbringings who are sexually immoral as well. Sin is never due to someone else, it’s birthed in each and every one’s own mind.

The sexual sin of homosexuality comes from within the one who pursues, lusts and fulfills his/her lust. They are accountable before God, each sinner is accountable for their sins, regardless of what those sins are. Most cannot even fathom how sinful they are…

I think it’s important to acknowledge respect in a society that has little to no respect for those who oppose a certain mindset.
What makes me tick on the subject of homosexuality is what God has revealed to me in His word. The root cause of ALL that is wrong with this world is sin, which lies in the heart of every person ever born. It’s what continually flows from the heart of mankind – So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.” Matthew 15
This is why the world hates Christ and His people, because He exposes their wickedness/evil sinful ways.
Mankind tries to ‘excuse’ sin, for example – homosexuality and all perversion. Many blame upbringing, or call it mental illness. This alleviates accountability, or so they think.
Touching on Matt. 15 again, the ‘heart’ of man is the source of all sin. In Jeremiah 17:9 it states ‘the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked, who can know it?’. The heart represents the whole ‘inner man’, the thoughts, mind, will of all mankind. All that is deceitful, which is defined in the Hebrew as ‘full of trickery’, and desperately wicked defined as ‘incurable, sick’. The entire human race is fallen, sinful, loving the darkness they are in and hating the light of Christ and His truth because that reveals their darkness and causes them to recoil, to avoid at all cost the ‘light’. Mankind loves it’s sin, its darkness that it wallows in. Sin comes in tons of forms, for example- greed, corruption, immoral behavior, murder, idolatry, etc. No one is guilty of just one sin, all are guilty of sin in the plural form.
Those God saves He gives a ‘new heart’ which is found in Ezekiel 36:26 for example, and again in John 3 when Christ says ‘unless you are born again, you cannot ‘see’ [meaning discern, understand] the kingdom of God.
Understanding Christ, His Gospel, His truth is a work of God. Opening a sin cursed, darkened mind to truth is what God the Spirit does, then His people ‘see’. We have clarity on our own sins, and why the world is such a mess, always has been since the fall of man and will be until the return of Christ.
Everyone still in their natural sinful state cannot know God nor understand His ways, they deny His very existence. That too stems from their own corrupt minds.

Which is why I use God’s word, the only source of truth, even though the unregenerate do not comprehend, twisting His word, ridiculing it, etc is the natural man’s response to what they cannot comprehend.
The natural mind cannot comprehend the spiritual darkness that engulfs this world, the demonic activity that takes place. The wicked sinners who hate Christ, who have Satan as their father are the ones wreaking havoc on the world, even when that means they oppose each other. For example, Putin is evil, he is using his power and military to serve his purposes. The U.S. Government is evil and in opposition to that. Yet, this same U.S. Government has for decades bullied other nations to get more power, resources, etc to increase their own wealth and power. There will always be wars and rumors of wars until Christ returns and destroys this world by fire, then makes all things new. This is what I look forward to. There is no continuing city here for God’s people, or anyone for that matter – for ALL die. No one has a permanent home in a world that is itself temporary.
The turbulence and turmoil of this world is all due to sin. Spiritual darkness is also a result of sin. Only those God gives ‘ears to hear’ will comprehend.

God requires one truly repents and lives a life of FAITH in which we Fear Nothing and totally care for us. Unfortunately from the Beginning Adam and EVE did not obey God so we know GOOD and EVIL. So when when makes choices, one cannot excuse oneself by claiming I did’t know what I was doing was EVIL.
No one can Save you from your stubborn, disobedient SELF except God. And He clearly expects to SEE a truly repentant Heart when you draw your last breath.

No one can say on their deathbed, “I accept Jesus”, why? Because salvation is contingent on what Christ has done, not one a sinner does at any given point.
As for divine justice, NO ONE deserves anything but judgment. God has elected to save a people from every tribe, tongue, nation for Himself. He is the Potter, we are all the clay. He has every right to do with each and every one as He sees fit. Romans 9 makes that crystal clear- You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” 20But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” 21Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?
As for only God knowing if a person has truly repented, as Mark Tapley says, that is hogwash. Again, I refer to Peter calling out Simon the sorcerer and telling Simon, ‘your heart is not right, Peter used God given discernment to make that call. He knew Simon was not truly a believer, regardless of what Simon said.
True ‘repentance’ is given by God, see 2 Timothy 2:25. What is repentance? to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider. To think differently about what? It refers to Christ and His gospel as the only means of salvation, not contingent on the sinner. Not contingent on dead works, which must be repented of {See Heb. 6:1}. Organized religion always presents works in the mix with their accursed gospels they present.
Your heart is not right either Howdy, your comments reveal what lies in your heart. What you present does not line up with His truth. The ‘god’ you adhere to does not exist, your ‘god’ is all loving, no judgment, no punishment for sin… your ‘god’ is a figment of your own depraved mind.

You cannot read a person’s mind, nor determine their eternal destiny. Only God can do that. The question posed by Howdy dealt with deathbed confession. This is not a case where the individual can be “judged by their fruit.” We can point out obvious errors from what the scriptures teach but only God can in his omniscience render judgement in such a case. Our job its to do as commanded in 2 Peter 1:10:
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.
You might also take heed of Paul’s warning in Corinthians 9:27
1 Corinthians 9:27, KJV:
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

As for those who ‘call’ on Him…how do they call?

“For by grace are you saves, through faith. And that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man boast” . Eph.2:8,9.
Faith, salvation and grace are all the gift of God Paul was referring to. He used the phrase ‘and that’ which is a neuter demonstrative pronoun, meaning the writer did this on purpose because he wasn’t referring to any one thing in particular, he was pointing back to all that was prior to ‘and that’.
