By suggesting and calling COVID-19 treatment leads to falling into the trap, i.e., assuming COVID-19 exits. Scientifically speaking, it is not accurate. The COVID-19 is a name assigned to a disease that is supposed to be caused by a virus (SARS-CoV-2). However, SARS-CoV-2 does not exist because no one has seen it, isolated it, or studied it. Therefore, by extension, COVID-19 does not exist either.
If and when people have an illness, the physicians should have the freedom to suggest treatment as per the observed symptoms and/or clinical observations.

Oh, is this a “great news” or “another reason to avoid vaccination” or “how to prevent covid-1984 infection” or another case of “modern angelology?” I can see the similarities with this angelology — there are several “camps” — (a) full blown validity (b) there are pins, but no angels (c) there are angels, but no dancing pins and, of course, variations of ‘b’ and ‘c’ and (d) there are no angels nor dancing pins; and, do not forget, the origin of it all and role of CCP…
In the meanwhile Ontario (15M of Canadians) is implementing another “emergency stay home order” by tomorrow; based — well, you may have guessed it — on “modeling!”
I wonder, shall we change the discussion focus from covid-1984 infectiousness to efficacy of guillotines? That may prevent all sorts of bad things happening to good people…

As you may have noticed I, and others, have begun to foucus upon the glaciers of the Alps. Last night another of my coincidences occurred, which I consider to be God sightings.
I do not normally even look at what programs might be occurring on PBS (Public Broadcasting System), but the other old TV programs, which I often watch, were programs of what I did not consider the first time to be really good (interesting) stories. And there was an hour long NATURE program featuring many aerial videos of the Alps. And I discovered (saw) what the topography of the Alps actually was and is. And I can believe it hasn’t changed much in the last 10,000, or 20,000, years. And I was not imaging what I saw as I pondered about the formation and existence of glaciers. But also know I have had an experience in the past which gives me a leg-up on those who have not had a similar experience.
So keep tuned as I ponder and compose using this NEW information.

Hi Jerry.
I nearly emailed you before Christmas to bring to your attention the global weather map. The extreme cold in the Northern Hemisphere was relatively anomalous and things are looking a little more less unique now.
What was happening was there was an unusually straight stable Mean Sea Level Pressure airstream flowing around the Arctic where the Arctic Sea is contiguous to the Northern Continents (Canada Europe).
Then a high pressure system formed in the Bering Strait and started dragging that cold air all the way down to Miami Beach and every where in between.
Another high formed over Europe and dragged that same cold arctic airstream over Europe as far as the Mediteranean and the most recent area to cop it was South East Asia.
Then there were some severe storms to spread all that cold air around the Northern Hemisphere. Crazier than throwing pots and pans around in the kitchen, a phenomenon I have never observed.
I have emailed John and asked if he can bring Michael’s article back from beyond the event horizon.

First, relative to your Christmas information, I believe you can visualize this general picture of the atmosphere’s global circulation and the fundamental factors (high pressures and low pressures) much better than I am able. I know about the pieces but cannot put them together on the global scale which is real.
I wonder (question) are you using Fluid Earth Viewer (FEV) to help you see (https://fever.byrd.osu.edu/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/orthographic=-82.98,39.98,335)?
For those who do not know, Fluid Earth Viewer, a computer model which uses actual measurements and observations to describe what has happened instead of computer model which uses the latest data to predict the future weather. While it allows one to look a significant variety of data, the most fundamental is the atmospheric temperature and the wind (which is illustrated not by numbers but by streamlines) near the earth’s surface where we live.
So, after finally seeing (Nature program) what the topography of the Alps actually was, I was very curious of what I would find at the Fluid Earth Viewer. For I knew there were many near vertical surfaces of near1000’s of feet altitude, or depth, with little horizontal areas at the bases of these near vertical surface. Hope you get the ‘picture’ of every narrow valleys or merely great cracks in the earth’s surface at the same time the tops of the mountain peaks have very little area also.
Hence, I, or anybody, can have no idea of the elevation of the reported s or winds. Another fact about FEV is it gives on a snapshot of every 6hrs of the past if you are beginning at the latest possible image. And you can see the variations in the temperatures and winds. And another very important fact. When one clicks on a given point, the precise latitude and longitude are reported as well as the temperature. The winds are never quantities. It is said a picture is worth a thousand words, so if interested and curious, use the link to take a look.

Why I will not do as you have just suggested I could (might)..To illustrate this I ask you a question. Have you gone the websites where you can read the data being measured continuously and often averaged over the measurements made during the previous hour. Although NOAA has a project (SUFRAD) which reports the averaged continuous measured diromg the previous minutes. And this reported data about which I read, I believe it has never been influenced (changed) by the computer program which directs what is to be done with the measurements that the invented instruments are measuring. No human influence until I begin pondering what the reported data mean to me. And when I write about what it means to me you can decide for yourself what it means to you.
By this I do not suggest you should stop reading and pondering the information you gather from these other sources. Clearly I do this everything I quote what another author has written that is meaningful to me.

Very, very interesting. The figure is of the distance between 1000 units and 500 units of atmospheric pressure as only measured by atmospheric soundings. Which in the southern hemisphere and over all oceans (except for islands) are few and far between. Yet, in the figure the contour lines are labeled as pressures. The Australian meteorology has a computer program which takes this data, just as the Fluid Earth Guys do which fills in the spaces between these few data points (locations). What is absolutely important is they are both using actual quantitative data being regularly measured.
And from this figure you can picture the global circulation of the global atmosphere in your mind (a really great computer).

Hi MattH,
Relative to the elevation difference between the atmospheric sounding data of 1000 and 500 pressure units, I just checked some sounding data this morning to confirm the ‘truth’ to which I draw your attention. Somehow readings are regularly, if not always, readings are alway made (reported) for 1000, 500, and 300, except an atmosphere pressure at higher elevations cannot be made at 1000 units. Hence, the reported elevation for 1000 units is calculated for an imaginary hole deep enough to have an imaginary atmospheric pressure of 1000 units.
So, you were initially correct about the elevations being reported for 1000 and 500 units even if a pressure of 1000 units was never measured and the elevation reported was below the earth’s surface elevation,

MSLP is Mean Surface Level Pressure.
I will do some quiet research on what you are saying and up until recently I only predicted anomolous weather by what occurred over sea surface and have been a little reserved about land masses with mountain ranges and micro climates etc.
I do notice in smaller more localized maps the isobar pressure gradients will separate around mountain ranges or even just land masses.

Polar jet streams are typically located near the 250 hPa (about 1/4 atmosphere) pressure level, or seven to twelve kilometres (23,000 to 39,000 ft) above sea level, while the weaker subtropical jet streams are much higher, between 10 and 16 kilometres (33,000 and 52,000 ft).

Hi MattH,
R.C. Sutcliffe (Weather and Climate, 1966) has 6 pages (front and back) of cloud pictures taken from mainly ground (only two from satellite) on glossy paper between pages 64 and 65. The caption of the first picture is: “1. Cirrus uncinus. Dunstable, Bedfordshire. A warm front was approaching and rain arrived within 6 hours.”
Most meteorologists (atmospheric scientist) only learned of the existence of atmospheric ‘jetstreams’ after WWII. For one of the best kept secrets was that more than 1000 hydrogen balloon from Japan landed in the USA as far east as the Mid-West. And in 1966 Sutcliffe understood the Cirrus uncinus clouds were commonly observed to be in these jetstreams whose velocity relative to the Earth’s surface could be more than 100 mph and commonly in a west to east direction.
Hence, the paths of these jetstreams can be seen from space. And would seem that where these jetstreams originate could be seen from space. But I have yet to read any speculation about this. Which I consider curious.

Hi Jerry.
It is a shame we can not have a jet stream map sitting next to a Mean Surface Level Pressure map so we amateurs could then understand the vertical weather a little better in real time.
I checked out the Cirrus uncinus clouds, height and temperature and as they are called Mares Tails I will give a satirical neigh next time I notice some.
I checked Carbons reference, pretty sophisticated stuff.
The Global map I referenced takes I while to adjust to the Coriolis Effect with the opposite rotational directions of the hemispheres so I have to double and treble check the surface wind currents of the Northern Hemisphere.

Oh, and Jerry, you probably know that on the surface maps i study the wind direction does not always follow the actual direction of the pressure gradients but the wind sheers away from the center of a high and is drawn inwards towards the center of a low pressure system as well as following the pressure gradients.

Here at PSI by writing and by personal speech I have reviewed what I believe a historical fact. But I have not seen or heard what I attempted to communicate (discuss) was considered by the others with whom I attempted to communicate
All I read and hear is this person claims this and another person claims that. And this and that are direct opposites. The only thing I can claim to know from experience is, if one raises pigs (swine, hogs) successfully, one must vaccinate his herd against known hog diseases plus quarantine his hogs from a neighbor’s hogs. And if his hog herd is very large, he separates (quarantines) his portions of his herd from each other. For he as learned that hogs are very susceptible to contagious hog diseases and it seems that humans are also susceptible to these contagious hog diseases.
The hog farmer (raiser, feeder, breeder) quarantines his hogs because he/she knows there sometimes occurs a ‘new’ virus for which the simple vaccination is not effective. Sound familiar.
What I read early in 2020 was that China had lost 50% of their hog herd due to a new virus; for which previous vaccinations were not effective. This I believe. Hence, there rightly occurred, in China, a crash attempt to discover a new vaccine effective against this new virus. And then it was found that this new virus also caused a new human disease.
However, it seems to me that there is no evidence that anyone has paid any attention to the historical fact (which I still believe) that China lost 50% of its hog herd in 2019.
Instead, its being claimed that the Chinese government purposefully created this ‘natural’ virus. So I believe the problem, in which we are now living, is the result of evil people of the ‘free’ world who want to control others (the many, many common people). And right now the elected President of the USA, now still in office for a few more days, seems not able to stand against these evil ‘elites’ even though he continues to fight mightily. He refuses to be silenced.

You are correct about the many many stories surrounding the virus, Jerry. The French supposedly gave the state of the art at the time virus lab to the Chinese in Wuhan because the French believed the Chinese were going to fool around with viruses any way so why not have the safest lab. The USA government also gave some millions to this lab (incredible and unbelievable to me). There is also the “Bat Woman”…a Chinese virologist who seeks out bat viruses for study. It is possible that someone in the Wuhan lab became infected with the virus and showed no symptoms and then infected friends and family who also showed no symptoms until numerous were infected and some becoming seriously ill. The virus may or may not have been altered by the lab…some virologists say the virus is from a lab and others say no….but the Chinese system allowed the local authorities to first be irresponsible and then after denying any problem, a coverup began and we likely will never know the truth. Thank you for those insights.
Blood clots (thrombosis) in the lungs appears to be a new phenomena as I have researched this a little and have only found science that says blood clots in the lungs come from deep vein thrombosis moving through the arteries to the lungs.
So a form of pneumonia causing blood clots and the lungs turning to mush appears to be a new virus or huge mutation of an old virus.
I remember reading about the pigs you mention and it is a timely reminder.

Maybe I should have put this comment closer to your comment about ‘normal chaos’. But I like longer lines.
I write to encourage you to keep doing what you have been doing. Because you have been observing and are observing natural phenomena during your entire life as a fisherman and a surfer. And I am not sure you recognize how unique you are and appreciate the knowledge you have. This new insight of mine is because I finally looked at the Antarctica polar view of the Fluid Earth Veriwer (FEV) and saw how cold (little above zero C the atmosphere was near the oceans surface at about 45S latitude just after the beginning of the southern hemispheres summer. Really not much different than the atmosphere’s temperature over the oceans at 45N even though there is much less ocean in the northern hemisphere.
The important thing about you is you have been ‘naturally’ making your observations because you are interested in making your observations of your world. Now, you must ‘follow’ the FEV’s data and compare it with your first hand observations of your actual world as you step it back work wards and forwards (starting sometime in the past) every six hours.
And we need to get Michael Clarke to tell us how (or if) we access the visual satellite images being made every 90 minutes so we can simply see what the clouds are actually doing. For these cloud images well clearly show where and when the low pressure weather systems are being active etc. etc. For a picture is worth a thousand words and a thousand atmospheric pressure observations which od not exist.
And I know from experience it only takes a few days, maybe weeks, to learn the details of the global atmosphere and the importance of what can be simply seen which might seem chaotic but begin to appear cyclic.
And there is no substitute for actual ‘human’ observations. I am excited what we can (might) see if we actually look at the actual images of the clouds which cover about 50% of the earth’s surface at any one time as they move here and there.

On three or more occasions I have read where you write that the temperature does not get lower than the due point temperature and that is a proof against Anthropogenic Climate change or something to that effect.
That is totally outside what I understand and I was wondering if a brief essay on this concept would assist me and other PSI readers to understand this observation.

Thank you for alerting me about your problem, which other PSI readers might have. For I now see (am reminded) that I have never worked backwards from Anthropogenic Climate Change to Global Warming to the idea known as the Greenhouse Effect of Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide. And, I seldom write the word Anthropogenic because every time I wrote it I have to look up how to spell it and I know that this uncommon word’s definition is simply ‘human caused’. So why not write ‘human caused’ instead of Anthropogenic?
Preface: This is very long comment and I have no idea if it will be accepted as submitted as a comment. But I like to experiment to see what can and cannot be done. And if this comment is not accepted, I will submit it to John O’ for his consideration to post it as an essay.
I have just reviewed, after reading it several years ago, a 1840, relatively brief, biography titled ‘The Martyr’s of Science’ by David Brewster. It is about the lives of Galileo, Tycho Brahe, and Kepler.
And I read: “From the elementary works of geometry, Galileo passed to the writings of Archimedes [287?-212 B.C.]; and while he was studying the hydrostatical treatise [3] of the Syracusan philosopher, he wrote his essay on the hydrostatical balance, [4] in which he describes the construction of the instrument, and the method by which Archimedes detected the fraud committed by the jeweler in the composition of Hiero’s crown.”
I review this because I have not found any evidence that any authors of PSI postings and comments have read Svante Arrhenius’s essay (1896) titled ‘On the Influence of Carbonic Acid in the Air upon the Temperature of the Ground.’ And if one has not read this essay, one cannot have studied it.
About Tycho Brahe (1546-1601 A.D.) I read: “In April 1559, about three years after his father’s death, Tycho was sent to the University of Copenhagen, to study rhetoric and philosophy, with the view of preparing for the study of the law … ; but after he had been sixteen months at college, an event occurred which directed all the powers of his mind to the science of astronomy. … With this view, he applied himself secretly to the study of arithmetic and geometry, and, without the assistance of a master, he acquired that mathematical knowledge which enabled him to realize these early aspirations [of astronomy].”
But Tycho had another scientific interest. For I read: “When Steno [Tycho’s uncle] learned that the study of chemistry was one of the pursuits of his nephew, he granted him a spacious house … for his laboratory.” This chemistry was that historically known as ‘alchemy’ in which alchemists were trying to find the right process to turn earth, water, and air into gold and silver by using the heat of fire. This because Aristotle and his fellow philosopher buddies had reasoned, nearly 2000 years earlier, that earth, water, air and fire were the four elementary elements from which all matter could be made.
Being a chemist I am aware that, given modern chemical knowledge, that some other scientists, who have little actual knowledge of the history of modern chemistry, consider these alchemists, to be ‘stupid’, as they tried to ‘make’ gold and silver. But it was the experimental results of alchemists which forced the conclusion that matter was not endlessly divisible as reasoned by Aristotle and his fellow philosopher buddies. But instead, it was atomistic because the alchemists’s experimental results forced this conclusion
Just as Galileo had seen physical evidence with his telescope which qualitatively refuted these Greek philosophers reasoned conclusion that the ‘earth stood still’. But at the same time Galileo qualitatively refuted this wrong idea, Tycho was making naked-eye quantitive observations of the planet positions as they moved about the heavens with a sufficient precision that Kepler could mathematically analyze Tycho’s data and find that the orbits of the planets about the sun were not perfect circles as Galileo believed; but instead their orbits were perfect ellipses as Kepler discovered there were three mathematical laws which described the elliptical motions of the planets about the sun.
Here, as I attempt to edit out my common mistakes, I must define what a scientific law is. It is not an hypothesis (theory) which explains its existence. It is just what is observed to consistently occur reproducibly in a specific case. It is a ‘fact’ which exists until there is not an observation which is not consistent with the law.
Yes, Galileo, Tycho, and Kepler made their discoveries more than a century before the alchemists made their fundamental discoveries, but these three astronomers could literally see what they were studying whereas the alchemists could not see the atoms they discovered.
MattH, the point of this lengthy comment is that it takes years of experiences to become a ‘real’ scientist. So do not ask a scientist to explain what he/she has learned during the many years of actual observations (both qualitative and quantitative) and the study of these many, many observations about which one needs to be aware.
Do not expect the real scientist to pour his knowledge into your mind with a one page comment, or five page essay if you have not read, in this case, Arrhensius’ 39 page essay. There is a reason why it took me 6 years to earn my Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry, and than spent three more years as a post-doc doing actual experimental work. These early scientists whom I have named, spent a life time of experience to learn the knowledge they eventually saw.
I seem to remember I have written that I really did not become a scientist, who must see, until I read about how Louis Agassiz taught his students to see, as written by his students about their first Agassiz assignment by which they learned to see all that Agassiz had seen before they could pass on to their second assignments. For it not about reading what has been written, it is about seeing the obvious which it seems may not have yet been seen by anyone else. Which is the problem where Archimedes, Copernicus, Galileo, Tycho Brahe, and Kepler found themselves so long ago.
And where it seems I find myself at the present. For as Einstein wrote: “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.

Hi Jerry.
I know what you mean by spelling anthropogenic. I was pretty proud of myself when I could spell and pronounce “hydroxychloroquine” but when I could spell and pronounce “coccolithophores” I considered nominating myself for the Nobel prize, literature.
Coccolithophores are an oceanic algae with a shell that combine to drop billions of tons of calcium carbonate ( CaCO3 ) to the ocean floor annually and contribute to the many reasons the ocean does not become acidic.
I mention this because there may be somebody read this who does not know that which you and I have read and accepted.
There was a German born scientist who was despised by the Hungarian born German scientist Philipp Lenard who once said, “if you can not explain it simply you do not know it well enough.”
May I suggest Jerry, that in a few days or a week you may comprehend a clear way to simply write your knowledge, a little at a time, on a word processor, and in a month or year we could have Johnny The Editor publish that which you clearly understand.

Hi Jerry.
The coccolithophorids help in regulating the temperature of the oceans. They thrive in warm seas and release DMS (dimethyl sulphide) into the air whose nuclei help to produce thicker clouds to block the sun. When the oceans cool, the number of coccolithophorids decrease and the amount of clouds also decrease. When there are fewer clouds blocking the sun, the temperature also rises. This, therefore, maintains the balance and equilibrium of nature.

But I doubt if anyone who writes at Wikipedia even considers that clouds have more influence upon the outgoing IR radiation being emitted from the ocean surface. Hence, fewer clouds means a cooler ocean surface. For you just reasoned as Arrhenius did as he reduced the incident solar radiation incident upon the ocean surface (and land surfaces) and then ignored any influence of the same clouds upon transmission of the IR radiation being emitted from the earth’s surfaces, whether solid or liquid. Which is why he proposed that atmospheric carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases was balancing his radiation balance calculation. That is why everyone who has an comment about the GHE, Global Warming, Climate Change should read his 39 page essay which is available for free on the internet.
This so you can believe the meteorologist, R.C. Sutcliffe who wrote (Weather & Climate, 1966): “Clouds which do not give rain, which never even threaten to give rain but which dissolve again into vapor before the precipitation stage is ever reached, have a profound effect on our climate. This is obvious enough if we only think of the difference between a cloudy and sunny day in summer or between an overcast and a clear frosty night in winter.”
But fault Sutcliffe for not pointing to difference between a clear and overcast night in the summer. Much dew forms on surfaces during the clear nighttime and little to no dew forms on surfaces when the nighttime is overcast.
Thank you for your comment because it gave me an excuse to review what Sutcliffe observed, what I observed, and what I believe you have observed and evidently have ignored.

Hi MattH,
Need I remind you that clouds light the transmission of IR radiation being emitted during the daytime also? As when there is a thin overcast during the daytime and nighttime for several consecutive days, record high atmospheric temperatures for that given day of the year are measured over a large area (region even) because such thin overcast can cover a large region for several days.

I have never realized dew does not form when it is raining, I wonder why, let alone on an overcast night.
So on a clear night, usually in the center of a high pressure system, does the dew form because it cannot find another surface to nucleate it into a water drop, or does the high atmospheric pressure cause the suspended water vapour to fall to the surface as it is less buoyant in an expanded high pressure atmosphere. I am expecting a tongue lashing here Jerry as I am asking dumb questions. l
In his very good presentation “inconvenient lie-day one-dr william happer” Dr Happer makes the comment “Hi clouds warm; low clouds cool”, but I have only recently been pondering is this comment valid in day time as well as night, energy in from sun, or emitted energy back to space. So you have touched on my ponderings.
When you Juggle 100 things you always drop something.

You are doing great. I have been being what I consider somewhat harsh about your comments. But when you point to the life which lives in the seas and oceans we (I) should not ignore its possible significance. And we should not ignore what (Radiation Damping and Light Scattering) Richard Feynman taught his students in Chapter 32 of ‘The Feynman Lectors On Physics’. For the tiny life particles you called to my attention must have influence upon the temperature of a surface layer of the ocean as they limit the depth to which the visible portion of solar radiation penetrates. And we should not ignore that water strongly absorbs the invisible IR portion of the Solar Radiation so that this energy is strongly reflected back through the atmosphere to space where some of it may be further absorbed by the greenhouse gases. We should not dismiss anything that we “know’ has to be occurring.
Even though I haven’t yet read and pondered (studied) what you have just written; I will. For we are having a great discussion and need to keep it going and hope that maybe others will join us.

So are the Coccolithophores the source of the white cliffs of Dover and the chalk of the southern portion of the British isles in which the 56 holes of Stonehenge were dug?
The problem of your suggestion of having John O’ copy our comments is that would seem a wasted effort because no has time to even read Galileo’s, Newton’s Sutcliffe’s, Feynman’s, books and these authors have ‘proven’ scientific achievements far greater than any of mine. I write this only because I know if I don’t no one can read about the information I try to share.
And do you notice new names of commenters that keep showing up. Which I consider is evidence that people come to PSI for information even if they do not make comments. We can only do what is fun to us.
Does Greenland cast a gravity shadow due to the the gravity of the sun or moon on the water, or ice, of the Arctic Ocean?

Hi Matt,
Just looked at the Fluid Earth Viewer for the Antarctic polar map for July 15, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016. Very dramatic differences between the last three years relative to the first two. I forgot to check New Zealand temperatures for your approximate location, but will and you should too. To compare what you know about these past years with what FEV is reporting.
I have also looked at the recent Atmospheric Sounding data for New Zealand which I found quite interesting. Jet streams and sometimes a nearly isothermal vertical temperature gradient which isn’t a temperature gradient. Have you looked at this data. New Zealand is obviously a great laboratory as its narrow breadth and significant ‘length spans a large latitude range in what is mostly all ocean in that part of the Southern Hemisphere. Much to learn.

And I did not really see and acknowledge the GREAT INSIGHT, but simple, this actually was. Fir ti buffer the carbonic acid whicfh ormes when carbon dioxide dissolves in water, the calcium carbonate must also dissolve in the ocean water. Hence, the ocean water must not be saturated with the Calcium cations and the Carbonate anion. So without the ‘living’ Coccolithophores there would be no solid calcium carbonate laying on the ocean bottom.
This life was able to combine soluble calcium cations dissolved from maybe solid calcium chloride in the earth’s soil by the rain which fell on the soil and flowed into the ocean. act. etc.
But what seems terribly important, is, without water there can be no life. And it is the plentiful water that makes the Earth an unique planet. Just on3 miracle after another.

With my inexpensive weather station and IR thermometer I just measured (7:20am, local time) the following. All F. 29 Weather station, minus 30 sky, 29 road surface, 24 car window and paint surface. 30 pine bush, 32 grass, 11 sloped frosty roof of next door house.
What is the importance of these temperatures? I am not sure but I know they are better than no measurements. Just as I know that your comments are better than no comments.
If you have time, ponder this: Do the gaseous planet Jupiter have a surface?

I have already made the correction that an estimate of 1.5 million tons of calcium carbonate is deposited and that having said billions of tons is an error I regret. You have reprinted my error twice when the corrected figure could have been edited into my discourse when the question marks were added. Repeating something in error by a factor of a thousand raises questions.
The salts, minerals, and elements being continually washed into the ocean are instrumental in the ocean being alkaline. Hence the ocean’s “saltiness” will continue to increase.
Coccolithophores are but one of a number of single cell algae producing calcium carbonate. Then you have all the coral, bivalves, molluscs, and crustaceans (including Billie the Barnacle) sequestering carbon dioxide in the form of CaCO3 .
Approximately 60% of natural oxygen production is released to the atmosphere from the ocean so when one includes the seaweeds there is a lot of carbon dioxide being utilized but the single cell algae blooms make a huge contribution. Real team players.
We will not get into how those algae become natural gas and oil.
I mention coccolithophores because they have a cute name. We should all have a pet coccolithophore.
Of course, these oceanic life forms sequestering CO2 into the chalk of dover and limestone, and other rock forms where the CaCO3 has been crushed and heated between tectonic plates means that earths atmosphere was projected to have a dearth of CO2 where eventually not enough CO2 remained to support plant life. ( Dr Patrick Moore hypothesis)

Correction. Technically, these life forms are only sequestering the carbon and the oxygen is being released as dissolved oxygen and eventually released back to the atmosphere.
Re; Aerobic – Anaerobic. equals life – death.
