COVID Comeback: Push for New Vaccines, Mask Mandates

A handful of new COVID-19 restrictions were recently implemented at universities and workplaces

The federal government is revealing preparations to enforce pandemic “safety protocols.”

Corporate media and the medical establishment are again calling for mask mandates, and more.

And amidst all of this, conservatives are calling for civil disobedience.

On one side, there are warnings of a new COVID variant known as Eris, or BA.2.86. On the other side, there is speculation that the feds want the emergency powers back in time for the 2024 election.

CNBC reported on August 15 that the World Health Organization had classified Eris as a variant of interest, and that it “poses a similar level of global risk as existing variants.” It also noted that new COVID vaccines were set to hit the U.S. market in late September.

Moderna, Pfizer, and Novavax have already readied their new shots for the many Omicron sub variants. And because of this, we should all be prepared for whatever the new strain could bring.

The establishment media have gone into a frenzy on Eris variant coverage. And remember, the pandemic has been deemed over, and the global risk of other existing variants was not seen as anything serious.

Reuters questioned, “Do I need to worry about COVID again?” And this raised some eyebrows.

Of course, dig into those media reports, and Eris seems fairly unconcerning. The Reuters story, for example, states that only six cases of Eris had been detected in the entire world since July. The concern, though, was that Eris “spreads faster or causes more serious illness than previous versions.”

Apparently mutations have given the virus more spike proteins that allow it to infect human cells.

And with this, the writing was on the wall.

In other words, the media suggests there’s a new variant with the hallmarks of something that spreads easily, and while recorded infections are low, we don’t actually know how many cases there are.

The powers to track pandemics. The surveillance technologies. Contract tracing. These extra-legal powers were granted to authorities through emergency orders. And they no longer have that powers.

In other words, if we want to find out if there’s an emergency, we may just need to declare an emergency… even if there isn’t one.

Then the next wave of stories began to land. The corporate media increased the number of reports on Eris globally. Every article quoted new so-called health experts warning of the possible threat.

Some recommended bringing back face masks. Others claimed we need to bring back full COVID restrictions.

In the UK, British media reported that scientists were now demanding the return of lockdowns.

And who would question science, right?

As these stories increased, some mandates began to return.

Lionsgate studios in Hollywood brought back face masks and daily COVID tests.

Morris Brown College in Atlanta brought back mask mandates, but just for two weeks. Two weeks to slow the spread, you could say. And others are following.

Fortune declared that it’s only going to get worse. It claimed it’s not even just Eris anymore. Now there’s the Fornax variant as well. They’re calling this one the “Kraken.” It’s the “high-flying variants.”

It could even be what they call a “Tripledemic.” It could be COVID, the flu, which we only thought totally disappeared, and even RSV. There could be other variants as well, and these could peak around November.

Just in time for election season.

It quotes a medical researcher saying that this prospect has him sleeping with one eye open. But luckily there’s good news. As it noted, there are new vaccines, set to be released.

Some of you may be thinking. ‘Well wonderful. There’s a new variant out. Luckily I got that shot last time. I’m totally protected.’ Well, not so fast. You might just need to keep on getting them. And lucky for you, the new boosters launch this fall.

Which I’m sure has nothing to do with the mass media campaign around flu season. Forbes reported just a couple days ago that you might just want to hold off on that next booster until these new rushed-to-market shots become available.

Pay no heed to the point that the number of infections in the alleged outbreak is technically low, especially compared to 2022, as Fox notes. That’s in the past. What matters is now. And now, as Axios notes, we’re told that cases are surging. That is, surging compared to months ago, before flu season.

Luckily, the government is hot on the case. It turns out that when it didn’t even appear there was a risk from COVID, they had already started putting systems in place. They started buying COVID-19 equipment.

They were hiring consultants. They were preparing new ways to enforce “safety protocols.” And it just so happens that these contracts just had the foresight for all of this.

As Natalie Winters at Steve Bannon’s War Room found, “Some of these contracts are scheduled to begin in September and October.”

What a perfect coincidence. Right when the new variants drop, and right when those new vaccines are set to release. It’s almost like they just knew it was coming.

And while they’re not forcing it on us. The government came out with a new announcement a few days ago, urging people to get the new COVID boosters.

And what about all that pesky disinformation? Well it just so happens that Google and YouTube recently updated their censorship standards to eliminate news on anything that deviates from whatever the approved health authorities are saying. And it’s all happening around the same time.

There is, however, backlash on nearly every front, as institutions try to roll out the new mandates. Rutgers University is already facing pressure for its vaccine mandate. Senator Rand Paul said the policy isn’t just bad for science, but could even amount to malpractice.

X, formerly known as Twitter, is filled with statements from conservatives saying they will not go along with any of it—masks, lockdowns, mandates. Comments on news reports pushing the new restrictions are filled with criticisms against any such agenda.

As actor Kevin Sorbo noted on Twitter, “Wow it’s so crazy that we might have to lockdown RIGHT before the 2024 election. Thankfully we have mail-in ballots. It’s not a coincidence at all!”

James Lindsay at New Discourses wrote, “Amidst all this, it’s looking like there’s a new sentiment. If restrictions come back, people will not comply.”
