It’s commonly understood that the internal combustion engine has to die. Nations have considered banning fuel-burning vehicles beyond a certain future date, though none of these proposals have stuck around.

A research paper by the Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Germany presents damning analysis of the ‘greenhouse effect’ over central Antarctica.  After studying measurements and models the ‘greenhouse effect’ is proven to be around zero or even negative.

Contrary to expectations, climate scientists continue to report that large regions of the Earth have not been warming in recent decades.

While most people still worry about global warming, I am more concerned about the next Ice Age. A glaciation would present a serious problem for the survival of our present civilization, akin to a nuclear winter that many worried about 30 years ago.

SPOTLIGHT: Recent peer-reviewed science points in different directions. BIG PICTURE: Two new studies about dietary fat made the news last week. According to the first, fat is a villain. In the words of a headline at the UK Daily Mail: Fat consumption is the ONLY cause of weight gain! ‘Unequivocal’ data reveals protein and carbs are not responsible for a bulging waistline.

The concern that people have for rising carbon dioxide levels is based on an assertion being made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that rising carbon dioxide levels would result in the atmosphere becoming more humid, which would increase cloud cover.

The concept of time seems to be ingrained in us. We remember the past lessons we’ve learned and make plans for the future. This concept contributes to our survival and certainly has contributed to the success of the species.

SPOTLIGHT: A few weeks ago, The Economist ran an article titled Some science journals that claim to peer review papers do not do so. It not only missed the elephant in the room, it advocated unjust hiring practices.

Welcome to all you first-years matriculating next month at our beautiful campus in the lovely town of Brainwash, Massachusetts. We used to call you “Freshmen”, but we can’t say that anymore without triggering. And “Fresh-NonGenderBinary” is too hard to write and likely a passing phase, despite the state of Maine now using it on driver’s licenses.

Science has made mice look good by reversing age-related wrinkles and hair loss at the genetic level. Humanity could get a similar make-over in the future.

No matter how hard climate-catastrophe obsessed alarmists attempt to beat out a little doom from the data, their results still fall far way short of their projections. Moreover, the modest warming the planet has seen over the recent decades is tied more to natural cycles.

The climate alarm media, the bureaucracy and the Green Energy industry follow an agenda which is served by inflating any short-term weather event into a climate calamity. They should take a long-term view.

A new study, just published in the journal Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, claims to have found the mother lode – quadrillion tons of diamonds. To put that number into a more understandable perspective; it equates to 1,000,000,000,000,000 tons (I’m using metric tons, i.e. 1,000 kg), hence 1,000 kg/ton, times 1,000 g/kg, times 4 carat/g, and it all comes to a cool 4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 carat of diamonds (possibly in liquid form at a zillion degrees mixed in magma).

As Britain continues to swelter in the heat, the blades of the country’s wind turbines are turning incredibly slowly in the face of a nationwide “wind drought” which has seen a dramatic drop in the amount of energy produced.
