Can the US Government Let COVID Go?
These SOBs won’t let Covid drop. Apparently Los Angeles County is bringing back an indoor mask mandate.
The previous ones not having sufficiently proved their uselessness, they’re going to try this one.
And now Ashish Jha, the White House’s Covid coordinator, is applauding the move.
“People wearing masks indoors is really important, and it really will make a difference,” he says.
Rather than review all the arguments, I refer you to my definitive masks-don’t-work episode from the Tom Woods Show. You know it’s accurate because it was removed from YouTube:

Meanwhile, I just came across this from a Twitter follower, and I don’t doubt that this stuff still happens:
Here’s why I bring this up.
As you may know, I’ve been spending less of my time focused on philosophical minutiae and more on how to survive and thrive in a world whose every institution hates us.
Earlier this year, inside my School of Life program (which opens again for a few days early next month), which is focused on precisely that, I spent some time on relocation: teaching my members how to relocate on a budget, what the best places to live in are, etc., and I brought knowledgeable people from a bunch of these places to answer everyone’s questions.
Shortly afterward, I wondered: with Covid restrictions being lifted everywhere, was this a waste of time? Maybe people won’t need to relocate anymore.
Ha. Was I wrong.
Even if the restrictions get lifted, there are still employers demanding the shots, still demanding masking, and as we saw above, there are still crazy people who demand you follow nonexistent rules.
And there’s this: how desirable is it to be surrounded by people who wanted your career destroyed and your family isolated from society?
That’s why the great Broadway actor Clifton Duncan feels like he couldn’t return to the New York stage even if things went back to normal. How can he share a stage with people who were ready to ruin him at the drop of a hat?
A very legitimate question.
Last thing:
Thankfully I no longer work for anyone (I used to be in academia, which I can’t imagine having to endure nowadays), so I can avoid some of the worst horrors of the private sector today, many of which are traceable back to truly hideous HR departments.

The totalitarian police state coupling a social credit score with programmable currency and the internet of bodies doesn’t happen without it.
By extension, the above doesn’t happen without doctors and nurses pushing it and sheep going along with it.
