Book Review: Everything Reminds Me Of Tim

Marty Ball, the wife of the late climate scientist Dr Tim Ball, has published a book about his life and achievements

The book details Tim’s life from birth in 1938 to his sad demise in September 2022.

Marty recalls many aspects of their life together, their trials and tribulations, their joyous and sad times, and the disgraceful libel suit brought by the ‘climate change’ fraudster, Michael E. Mann.

One of the first things that may surprise readers is that Tim was actually born near Chippenham in Wiltshire, England. He moved to Canada in 1957 and subsequently joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. In June 1961 he married Marty.

In 1964 he joined the RCAF’s Search and Rescue squadron, as a radio operator aboard their C130 Hercules aircraft until 1968.

Tim received a bachelor’s degree with honors in geography from the University of Winnipeg in 1970, followed by an M.A. from the University of Manitoba in 1971. The same year, he became an instructor at the University of Winnipeg, and a lecturer the following year. He then served in the latter capacity for 10 years.

In 1982 he became an assistant professor there, and the following year received a PhD in geography with a specific focus on historical climatology from Queen Mary University in England.

He was promoted to associate professor at the University of Winnipeg in 1984 and full professor in 1988.

In 1984, Tim helped found the Rupert’s Land Research Centre, a historical society dedicated to promoting the history of the area. He also served as its director from then until 1996.

He published a number of peer-reviewed papers in the field of historical climatology, most of which are about reconstructing temperatures in Canada during the past several centuries.

Tim was also associated with the Canadian Friends of Science Society and Natural Resources Stewardship Project, both of which oppose the ‘consensus’ argument of ‘climate change’.

He retired from teaching in 1996, but carried on speaking out publicly about the climate scam for many years.

In 2007, he was one of the people in the British tv documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle, which is regarded as the bible by many climate skeptics.

Many pages in the book are reminiscences of Tim from family, former friends and colleagues, and to keep a sense of fairness and ensuring the book is not a back-slapping exercise, Marty has included several items that criticised Tim or his work.

The final chapter of the book lists Tim’s career and achivements.

In 2018, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Climate Science Award by the Heartland Institute.

Summing up

Tim was a giant in his field. A warrior, but a warrior for truth, in science above all, and for that he should be celebrated. He had the guts to stand up and be counted against what I call the biggest scam ever perpetrated.

Tim is survived by Marty, and their sons Tim Jr and David.

I heartily recommend this book, and it can be bought in hardback, paperback or Kindle here: amazon.co.uk

He wrote the forwards for the 2011 edition of Slaying the Sky Dragon: Death of the Greenhouse Gas Theory, and the 2019 sequel, Sky Dragon Slayers: Victory Lap.

The UK version of Sky Dragon Slayers, Victory Lap (paperback or Kindle) can be purchased here amazon.co.uk

Tim also wrote two books that reveals who is behind the climate scam, and why.

They are:

The Deliberate Corruption of Climate Science (2014) available on Amazon here

Human Caused Global Warming: the Biggest Deception in History (2016) available on Amazon here

About the author: Andy Rowlands is a university graduate in space science and British Principia Scientific International researcher, writer and editor who co-edited the 2019 climate science book, ‘The Sky Dragon Slayers: Victory Lap

Sad news, I don’t know he had died. I have all his books. A pity that politicians and teachers don’t read them and discover the truth.
