Beware California’s Fanatical Hater of the Oil Industry

I watched this press conference live, and was horrified to hear Governor Newsom announce: “We don’t need to drill things, extract things, in order to advance our economic goals and to advance our mobility needs.”

In recent days I have searched unsuccessfully for any written report of that deluded assertion, which as I recall received scornful treatment on my Facebook page. So I dug out that video, and yes, he really did say it, shortly after the 33-minute mark.

Below are more statements/actions by the dangerous Democrat who could make a late appearance as a replacement for Joe Biden. In each case, click on the date for the source, generally the Office of the Governor:

“Our cars shouldn’t make wildfires worse and create more days filled with smoky air. Cars shouldn’t melt glaciers or raise sea levels threatening our cherished beaches and coastlines.” announcing an executive order requiring all new passenger vehicles sold in the state to be zero-emission by 2035. “We don’t need to drill things, extract things, in order to advance our economic goals and to advance our mobility needs.”

26 Jan 2022

“The $6.1 billion [part of a broader $37.6bn plan] would help support more affordable, clean cars, trucks and buses and expand access to zero-emission vehicles and zero-emission vehicle infrastructure in low-income communities.”

27 Oct 2022

“California is empowering communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis to tackle pollution and build resilience in their own neighborhoods. This [US$96m] innovative support for community-led projects across the state will bring environmental, health and economic benefits to Californians for decades to come.”

17 Nov 2022

The California Air Resources Board today approved a far-reaching $2.6 billion investment plan that ensures all Californians benefit from our state’s transition to zero-emission transportation. Supported projects range from incentives for cleaner trucks and buses, and mobility options such as bike- and car-sharing, to consumer rebates for clean cars.

14 Dec 2022

The California Energy Commission (CEC) today approved an unprecedented $2.9 billion investment plan that accelerates California’s 2025 electric vehicle (EV) charging and hydrogen refueling goals. The funds will support the deployment of thousands of zero-emission trucks, school buses and transit buses to deliver clean air benefits to communities hit hardest by the impacts of pollution from medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

28 Apr 2023

“Extreme heat driven by climate change endangers the lives and livelihoods of Californians in every corner of our state, and threatens our vital natural systems,” said Governor Newsom. “The Extreme Heat Action Plan is a critical part of California’s commitment to strengthening community resilience and will guide partnerships and investments in equitable solutions to protect all Californians.”

26 May 2023

“California is taking swift action to combat the climate crisis and protect Californians from extreme heat and other climate-driven extremes. These resilience centers (Cost = US$200m) are yet another tool we’re using to save lives and adapt to our new climate reality.”

31 Aug 2023

We’ve set some of the most ambitious clean energy goals in the nation to break the vicious cycle of climate change-caused energy emergencies – we need every tool at our disposal to achieve them. This legislation will help us achieve a 100% clean electric grid and phase out the very pollution that causes extreme weather in the first place. We’re taking action to build the clean energy we need, faster.

30 Oct 2023

California and China will work on joint activities that decarbonize the power sector, planning efforts that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as California’s Scoping Plan and China’s Five-Year Planning Process, and action that will accelerate the deployment of clean energy. (During visit when he failed to notice that in the first half of 2023, construction in China was started on 37 gigawatts (GW) of new coal power capacity, 52 GW was permitted, while 41 GW of new projects were announced and 8 GW of previously shelved projects were revived (Source). Like former WA Premier McGowan, the Governor took no interest in human rights abuses in China including but not limited to the murder of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners to profit by the sale of their organs. Socialists are unconcerned by such matters.

29 Feb 2024

Governor Gavin Newsom announced millions of Californians will receive an average of $146 in credits on their April gas and electric bills. The California Climate Credit – automatically applied to Californians’ bills every April and October – is a direct result of the state’s nation-leading Cap-and-Trade climate program that requires polluters to pay for climate action.

Even worse than Biden?

The Democratic Party is intrinsically sneaky. There is a high probability that from the moment of the swearing-in of President Biden, plans were already under way to replace him after four years with a hardline leftist who will accelerate the Obama-Biden enfeeble America strategy. Beware Governor Gavin Newsom!

Subscriber Graham Lyons has helpfully drawn attention to the family connection between Newson and notorious lefty legislator Nancy Pelosi. This relationship was explained in detail on 6 January 2019 by Dan Walters.

Oil is material wealth. Their agenda is that you have zero material wealth, just fake intangible slave money.

    Simple solution to the ‘problem’.
Petroleum and energy companies could stop selling any and all natural gas, diesel fuel, and gasoline in California.
Democrats would then be back in their Utopian Stone Age.

Let the oil companies stop providing oil in CA. When the economy grinds to a stop, and the people wake up, we can finally recall or vote Nuiscance out of office!!!

Texas should pick a left wing city [Austin for eg] and cut off all oil and gas supplies.
That is what the alarmists/ communists/socialists wanted for all of the free world.
Then observe how they respond to this mini experiment.

Seems to me that the so called leaders in Texas are pulling that experiment on the entire state with their stupidity of Wind and Solar, and now batteries that will last what….5 minutes?
