As predicted, Media claims 2024 was the ‘hottest on record’
As predicted, the mainstream media are claiming last year was the ‘hottest on record’, and as usual they are being economical with the truth
What they mean is the hottest since US records began in 1850, but as has been demonstrated many times, repeated alterations of the temperature record are being done to falsify the data, by reducing past temperatures, and increasing modern ones.
Hottest on record this time means 2024 was 0.1 C warmer than 2023. Whoopie-do.
This allows governments, and other agencies, to claim we are in a ‘climate emergency’, when no such emergency exists.
With all the environmental regulations that have come into force since the 1980’s, the planet is healthier now than it was a century ago, but don’t expect alarmists to acknowledge that.
They also usually ignore the longest continuously monitored weather record in the world; the Central England Temperature Record, which began in 1659. This shows that over the last 365 years, the UK, and some argue by inference Western Europe, has warmed by 1.4 degrees centigrade.
They also ignore the fact that we are in the coldest period of the last 300 million years, and currently still recovering from the last ice age, so warming should be expected, and indeed, welcomed.
The average temperature of the planet over the last 600 million years was 22 C. Now that average is 12 C. Carbon dioxide was as high as 7000 parts per million, and the Earth didn’t boil away, because all the ice core records from Greenland and Antarctica show temperature changes first, and CO2 changes in response to said temperature change.
That is not in any way concerning, so as Drs Tim Ball and Richard Lindzen said, you are told the opposite.
Our current level of 425 is far too low. The work of Sherwood & Craig Idso shows the optimum amount for best plant & crop growth is 1200ppm.
Also ignored is the urban heat island effect and poor siting of weather stations, which in the UK is particularly bad. The Met Office say they take into account the UHIE and adjust their readings accordingly, subtracting 0.2 C, but it is well known weather stations in cities and at airports can be elevated by as much as three or four degrees.
Our climate is controlled by three things; the Sun, water vapour and air pressure. Take the comparison between Mars and Venus.
Mars has a very thin atmosphere with low atmospheric pressure, and is very cold. Venus has a very dense atmosphere with high pressure, and is very hot. They both have atmospheres that are 96 percent CO2, so if the so-called ‘greenhouse effect’ did exist, both planets should be close to the same temperature.
Speaking of 96 percent, also conveniently ignored is the fact that 96 percent of the CO2 in the atmosphere is created by natural processes. Human activity adds just four percent to that, yet you are asked, or rather told, to believe that extra four percent is causing a ‘climate emergency’.
For context, the atmosphere weighs 5700 trillion tons. 78 percent of that is nitrogen, 21 percent is oxygen. All the other gases are found in the remaining one percent, yet we are expected to believe CO2 at 0.04 percent, and methane at 0.00017 percent, are the main drivers of our temperature.
This completely ignores the role of the Sun, and yet….people like Bill Gates want to block out the Sun to cool the planet, so doesn’t that tell you what the main driver of our temperature is?
In reality, there is but one atmospheric gas that affects temperature; water vapour; clouds.
Alarmists now grudgingly admit that before the Industrial Revolution, temperature determined the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but they want you to believe that at some point, atmospheric physics underwent a monumental and unprecedented change, and CO2 started driving temperature.
That has to be one of the most ridiculous of the alarmist claims.
