Another Heatwave? Don’t Blame Global Warming, Blame The Jet Stream!

There’s another heatwave on the way and no doubt the UK Met Office/media will blame it on global warming, as they always do. It is of course nothing of the sort, just weather.
It is inevitably hot in Britain when there is high pressure in summer – it is the sun, stupid!
And sure enough, we have another weather blocking high, which is going to hang around for at least a week. In turn, these high pressure set ups arrive because of the jet stream, which is currently well to the north of the British Isles:

Instead of blaming sunny weather on global warming, maybe the Met Office should be researching why the jet stream does what it does.
As for their nonsensical claim of 45C temperatures in thirty years time and ever hotter heatwaves, the Central England Temperature record shows a different story:

Take away the 2022 heatwave, which is a clear outlier, caused by an unusual plume of hot air from the Sahara, and there has been no marked increase in the highest temperatures each year since 1976.
Last month peaked at 32.8C, which was less than the 33.1C recorded on 3rd July 1976.
The Met Office can cherry pick all the junk sites it wants, in order to claim new “records”. But they prove nothing as far as long term trends are concerned, because they are comparing chalk and cheese.
For that, you need long term data from reliable sites, which the CET provides. The temperature record at the Class 1 site at Rothamsted produces very similar trends to CET.
