Queer Theory critically examines the way power works to institutionalize and legitimate certain forms and expressions of sexuality and gender while stigmatizing others.
This perception that queer theory is solely about sexuality has been opposed by having an intersectional approach that starts off with the hypothesis that sexuality cannot be disconnected from the other categories of social status and identity.

Wow, God help us all.
Queer theory is simple BS from short-sighted people who have no alternative way of thinking. It applies a theory to a whole group when that group is not comprised of the theory meaning.
As usual with Humanity, all are tarred with the same brush.
Obviously, In any group of people, there are members who are not part of the group for it’s meaning, but what can be taken from it. So how many LGBTQ etc are genuine, and how many are fakes? How many are there for other reasons, hmm? Guilt by association?
Are you aware of the Balearic islands, specifically Ibiza? It has a bad name from people who see it as a den of iniquity. Some even want it shut down. So, look at the image from Amnesia night club:

Which ones are same sex couples?
Which ones are groups of friends just enjoying the night out?
The exhibitionists? The hetero Men and Women?
That’s right, nobody has a clue. Any and all types exist in the same space and none present care about it. Like many things, queer theory is just picking by a certain mindset for the sake of it and has no basis of belief other than I’ve stated, or fear. It relates only to those who made a conscious choice, not those who are actually driven from within. That reason is why it is pointless.
Separate the wheat from the chaff, then you will have a place to proceed from. Not that that matters, since the prejudice will not allow any reasoning to exist.
Short-sighted and closed minded people.
