A recent CATO Institute poll suggested that over 70% of the 2000 Americans they asked about CBDCs have absolutely no idea what a CBDC even is. If people don’t know what they are then it’s quite likely they won’t know why they should care.
Despite the fact that even here, recently the Bank of International Settlements reported that 93% of the world’s central banks are currently working on implementing CBDCs to have transactions more efficient and fairer.
