The No Fly Zone with Greg Maybury
Interview with Monica Smit, Australian Activist, Global Freedom Fighter, June 4th, 2023
Hello Friends, On this episode I had as my guest Monica Smit. I will come back to Monica’s story shortly. First, a bit of background.
About ten years ago my employment contract as a teacher with our state Department of Education was abruptly terminated. Why?
Because I had the temerity to publicly stand up and speak out against any number of issues which I saw at the time were not only affecting my ability to do my job.
At a broader scale, these issues also pointed to official incompetence, dysfunctional management, systemic corruption and assorted shenanigans (workplace bullying, harassment, intimidation, coercion, gaslighting by senior staff and administrators was of epidemic proportions) at the highest levels of public education administration in the state.
To say I did not endear myself to the PTB is an understatement. (By default almost I became an internal whistleblower.)
This went on for a few years with the situation becoming increasingly intolerable. During this time a senior colleague pulled me aside to point out the following, as a word of friendly advice: “Greg, if you keep this up, here’s what’s going to happen:
First they (the PTBs) will ignore you and trust you’ll see the error of your ways after which you’ll pull your head in for the sake of being gainfully employed;
Second, if that doesn’t work, they’ll disparage and discredit you professionally and go out of their way to make your employment untenable; and
Third, if that doesn’t work, they’ll come after you with everything they’ve got, and you’ll be out on your ear before you know it.”
The “Big Machine” in this case was of course the state Education Department, as my interlocutor patiently explained. And if you go up against the “Big Machine”, it will chew you up and spit you out without so much as a by your leave.
Turned out he was right. On all counts.
Why do I tell this story? Like many of my previous visitors to the NFZ, my guest on this episode is someone who has also gone up against a Big Machine, albeit one of a different kind, and a machine far more formidable and ruthless than the one I had to deal with. And she did this on a far larger public stage.
Although my experience was a modest, parochial affair compared to hers, I readily identify with people who are prepared to stand up and speak out when they see something that doesn’t sit right. I understand what they put themselves and their friends and families through.
It’s not an easy gig to take on. But we need more and more people to do this.

THE GLOBAL WALKOUT
We covered quite a bit of real estate in out discussion, including: her ordeal being imprisoned; the role of the media, the medical profession, and the politicians throughout the pandemic; what drives her to stand up and speak out against government overreach; the WHO’s pandemic treaty and the implications for Australia; the Central Bank Digital Currency proposals; and both her own future and that of our democratic and sovereign way of life.
Monica is someone who has been on the front line of Australia’s freedom movement since August 2020. She hit the international stage when she spent 22 days in solitary confinement in a high-security prison for promoting anti-lockdown protests.
After one year of fighting those charges, they’ve been dropped, and she is free to continue her work.
She is currently in Europe developing her networks and going up against the Big Machine, the biggest and more formidable machine ever assembled by the predators, psychos, and parasites that be.
She can and should be followed by all on her website below. She will be regularly reporting on her travels and keeping us all informed on events and developments that are relevant to cause. Networking, connecting and growing EXISTING community groups
