First Ever Double Slit Experiment In Time Not Just in Space
In this video, Anton Petrov, discusses some very interesting and intriguing discoveries in regard to the very famous experiment involving light, the Double Slit Experiment.
For the first time ever, instead of producing the typical pattern that is usually observed when light passes through to different tiny slits creating the famous interference pattern, the scientists were able to create something entirely different, an interference pattern in time not in space.
The experiment was originally conducted by Thomas Young in order to prove whether light was a particle or a wave. By using this particular experiment he was essentially able to produce the interference pattern that was expected from a typical wave. This was confirming light’s wave-like nature and this was generally accepted for a long time until Einstein came along and claimed that light was both a wave and a particle.

All objects above absolute zero will radiate energy. All objects radiate electric fields. A moving object will produce a changing electric and energy (magnetic) field. How is it that when these changing fields , that everyone knows about, are detected they are baffled and conclude the matter can be either a wave or a particle instead of realizing the object is radiating these fields?

Hi PSI Readers and Herb,
I have repeatedly written that the air temperature has never been measured to be less than the atmosphere’s dew point temperature when measured at the same place and time. This morning I found a batch of RAWS (Remote Automated Weather Stations) data from Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montane which I must admit clearly refute this.
Unless one has regularly studied this data, one cannot be expected to follow any explanations about the data which contradicts my previous summary statement.
However, I offer a possibly fundamental FACT about the Earth’s energy balance system. Which is that we should not ignore that the earth’s surface can be cooled by the the evaporation of water molecules from its surface for this can explain the uncommon data I just discovered.
However, I am aware that few, to no one including you Herb, make comments relative to my comments. But this problem is yours and theirs, not mine; for I can only submit my comments.

I would be interested to see this experiment conducted on the space station – to check if there is an association between light and gravity. My belief is that light has an ephemeral mass phase as it changes from electric to magnetic phase.
To show this would have a direct implication for red and blue shifted star light.

Hi Robert,
Since the difference between gravity on the space station (distance 4250 mi) and gravity on the Earth’s surface (distance 4000 mi) is less than 1%, I think you would need to go further away to see any results.

Hi Lloyd,
The reason things appear weightless is because the inertial mass and horizontal velocity are carrying the object away from the Earth as fast as gravity is causing them to fall towards the Earth.
Gravity decreases as a function of increasing distance, it doesn’t disappear.

Another way that one could state this is: The centrifugal force (effect) of the orbiting ISS, and its contents, balances the gravitational force on them due to the mass of the earth.

Hi Lloyd,
Actually there is no force of gravity or centrifugal force. The Earth and other objects radiate energy (V^2) that decreases with distance from the object. Objects in this energy field will equalize with it. If they have less energy they gain energy (velocity) by moving into a stronger field (fall). If they have more energy they lose energy to the field (slow). When in equilibrium they will neither gain or lose energy (velocity) and will remain in that equal field unless something causes them to gain or lose energy. An object will not travel in a straight line (nothing does not even light) but will maintain the same energy (coast). This is why if you want an orbiting satellite to go faster you slow it down so it gains energy from the field and to slow it you add energy so it loses energy to the field.

Since my math has deteriorated since calculators became commonplace I will believe you are correct. However I’m not sure that a 11% difference would be great enough to give Robert the red or blue shift needed to verify his theory given the minuscule size of his “ethereal” mass..

Exploring the structure of light has the potential to provide very useful findings. An 11% variation in gravity could indicate the presence of ephemeral mass by revealing a slightly different double slit light pattern. My money would be on giving the experiment a run in the space station.

The double slit experiment is not hard to reproduce….just need a razor blade to make a double slit in a piece of paper…and a laser pointer ($10). The blind double slit experiment which involves the entanglement of photons requires more sophisticated equipment.
