Tidal Pumping Drives Weather and Climate
An entirely unappreciated energy input onto the surface of our planet is Tidal Pumping.
Not pumping water. Shifting our tectonic plates due to the Earth’s gyrations (Precession, Obliquity, and Orbital Eccentricity) in addition to our varying distance from the planetary gravity fields everywhere from the Sun out to Jupiter.
With heightened seismic activity and heat release, the instances of “Extreme Weather” are more Extreme.
Milankovitch cycles have nothing to do with solar radiation. They have everything to do with tidal pumping. This information has been coming forward over the last decade by geologists, geophysicists, and astrophysicists.
Unfortunately, climatologists, an entirely bogus gathering of charlatans, and their carnival barkers in the media hold the megaphone with their never-ending predictions of doom. Changing climate is also “Anthropogenic”. It’s all your fault.
Tidal pumping by the Sun, Precession of the Equinoxes, Obliquity, Orbital Eccentricity, as well as planetary alignments (particularly Sun, Venus, & Jupiter) move Earth’s tectonic plates. Therefore, all of Earth’s internal heat is delivered to the surface, notably into the waters at the two terminal points of the Pacific’s Ring of Fire.
The seismic heat injection is Enormous. Per NASA, this energy input is approx. 99.5 percent of all solar radiation but the flawed paradigm is that the internal heat of the Earth is dissipated in Mantle Convection. Mantle Convection and Subduction do not exist.
Per NASA’s very calculations:
“The interior of the earth contributes more than 99.5 percent of the total heating of the surface compared with the sun!
This answer, of course is quite wrong because it assumes that 100 percent of the internal energy is radiated to the surface.
In fact, the internal heat source drives powerful convective currents in the mantle so that nearly all of this thermal energy is lost.”

The energy statement is true, but the dissipation of the internal heat into Mantle Convection is wrong. There is no Mantle Convection.
The internal heat is delivered to the surface, specifically the ocean floor of our planet and greatly exceeds any putative “back radiation” from minuscule trace gases in our atmosphere.
Man-made ‘climate change’ is a complete farce.
At the Winter Solstice, the incrementally closer distance between the Sun and Southern Hemisphere induces greater plate movement across the Southern Hemisphere and greater seismicity in the Peru-Chile Trench to drive the El Niño. Alternately, these tidal stresses can find relief and induce greater seismicity in the Tonga-Kermadec Trenches to drive the La Niña.
Elevated surface water temperatures near Papua-New Guinea are due to a heat plume emitted from the Tonga Trench, but the heating of these surface waters is also affected by the multi-plate, seismically active regions to the east of Papua-New Guinea.
In “Plate Climatology”, James Edward Kamis describes a single “Source Point” for the La Niña and El Niño as centered on the multi-plate, seismically active regions to the east of Papua-New Guinea. It seems doubtful to me that this region could drive the El Niño off the coast of Peru.
Again, the elevated surface water temperatures east of Papua New Guinea are a result of the heat plume emanating from the Tonga Trench in addition to the seismically active conditions in this region. I hold that the ENSO is a binodal condition, at either end of the Ring of Fire.
The Dust Bowl years of the 1930s were caused by a strong, sustained La Niña. Drought across the plains states, punctuated by springtime flooding conditions further north.
The La Niña brings flooding monsoons across Bangladesh, while the Northern Hemisphere suffers extreme drought in the summer months. Extreme low water conditions across rivers of America’s interior as well as Europe. Yet earlier this spring the Yellowstone River flooded over its banks.
The geochemical reactions throughout the Upper and Lower Mantle are all exothermic (give off heat). Activation Energy is supplied by planetary Decompression. Fischer-Tropsch and Sabatier reactions produce methane and petroleum in unimaginable quantities. Most is diffused from the ocean floor. Land-based sources are minuscule.
Hydrothermal vents and plain old ocean floor seepage is immeasurable and these acidic discharges react with alkaline ocean waters to release the Heat of Neutralization and the Heat of Dilution.
We have been under pronounced La Niña conditions since autumn of 2020. Last year we went thru the alphabet in hurricane names. Entirely typical of La Niña.
50 million tons of water vapor released from the Tonga Trench volcano on Jan. 15, 2022. This largest submarine volcano ever observed will produce a warm, wet planet for years. Areas of drought are also caused by an increase in katabatic winds.
Moisture condenses on the southern face of the Himalayas, producing monsoons and floods across northern India and Bangladesh. Dry, hot winds flowing down from the Himalayas cause continuous dry conditions for Central Asia.
Significant tidal pumping stresses coincided with the Precession of the planet on Dec. 21, 2021 to tear open the Tonga Trench. On April 30, 2022, there was a planetary alignment of Venus-Earth-Mars-Jupiter. On Sept. 26, Jupiter made its closest approach to Earth in 59 years.
Tremendous tidal pumping stresses. Tremendous seismic energy release. Totally ignored.
The ancient astronomers weren’t far wrong.
Following the La Niña years of the U.S. Dust Bowl, a powerful El Niño dominated the European theater of WW-II. A facet of the El Niño are strong winds pushing northward from the Peru/Chile Trench. These shearing winds over the Gulf of Mexico and Western Atlantic suppress the hurricanes. These strong winds also drive the Gulf Stream further north, up to Iceland. In the summer, cold rain fronts drive down on Europe.
As Eisenhower gravely pondered the invasion of Europe he was guided by his meteorologist about a break in these rain fronts descending from Iceland. At that time, meteorology was just a nascent science. Eisenhower committed to the invasion and the Germans were caught off-guard. The blizzards and brutal cold of the Battle of the Bulge plus the Russian front froze men in their trenches. El Niño.
If Eisenhower had taken advice from a climatologist, we’d all be speaking German. At a minimum, the Germans would have improved their jet technology and Nazi scientists may have had the time to develop the atomic bomb.
The ancient astronomers called the planets “wandering stars.” So you see, the movement of these wandering stars and planetary alignments really do foretell the fate of empires.

Thanks, Jerry – I often relate to folks your statement to me about Psychometrics. I should have not required prodding when we last spoke. Two (2) temperature measurements. Dry bulb and wet bulb. I would also add barometric pressure.
That’s kinda how I present the discussion to others. To understand the energy bound in a given volume of atmospheric gases you need to know the dry bulb temperature, some indicator of humidity plus the barometric pressure. To understand theis energy in our atmosphere we have to have knowledge of all three (3) of these conditions globally and on a real time basis, plus at least daytime and nighttime. Good luck with that.
Both Svente Arrhenius (1896) and Gilbert Plass (1956) eliminated water from consideration or held its effects constant because the water cycle is so damn complex. They grossly oversimplified and eliminated the most important molecule in the heat balance.

Hi Richard,
A barometer (and a thermometer) do not measure what you believe in the atmosphere. A high pressure area is a warm calm air mass while a low pressure are is a cool unstable air mass. How can the fewer air molecules in the less dense air mass weigh more than a equal volume of more air molecules in the low pressure air mass?
Both the barometer and thermometer have similar designs with the only difference being the liquid reservoir of the thermometer is totally enclosed while the barometer is open. How can a thin layer of glass convert a unit of pressure (weight/ area) into an energy unit (mv^2)? Both instruments are measuring the momentum of the air molecules striking them.
In a high pressure are that momentum is directed down by gravity while in a low pressure unstable air mass the air molecules have a horizontal velocity reducing the vertical momentum.
As altitude increases the number of molecules (mass) transferring energy to the instruments decreases while the horizontal energy increases. So even though the temperature and barometric pressure decreases, the kinetic energy of the individual molecules increases. This can be shown by dividing the temperature at an altitude by the density at that altitude to gat a measurement of energy for a constant number of molecules instead of a constant volume,

Hi Richard,
It was Knute Angstrom’s argument concerning water in the atmosphere that forced Svanti to concede that his theory was wrong and withdraw it. All the water on the surface of the Earth is absorbing heat. When a gram of water absorbs 600 calories it evaporates, carries that energy up in the atmosphere and releases the energy into space. Then It condenses back to rain falling back to Earth nd repeats the cycle. There is nothing any gas in the atmosphere can do that will in any way effect this continuous cooling. It is a shame that there are so few people who understand the true properties and action of water.

Why do not not quote for PSI Readers portion of that Arrhenius actually wrote at the beginning as he concluded that the measured air temperature would be about 33C (58F) less is not for the carbon dioxide in the air of the earth’s atmosphere in which we live. Every reader likely has a thermometer which they use to quantitatively measure the “air temperature” or the temperatures of liquids which have been sitting in contact with the air for hours during which the liquid temperature might be nearly constant and almost the same as he same thermometer is used to measure a room’s temperature?

Hi Jerry,
We all know that water absorbs a lot of energy that does not register on the thermometer, so comparing the temperature of the water where 1000 more molecules are transferring energy to the thermometer to the energy of the air molecules is not a valid comparison. Since the transfer is done by convection it follows the conservation of momentum where gas molecules with greater velocity will transfer energy the water even though they have less kinetic energy (due to their small mass).You can cook food faster in 100C water than in a 200C oven even though each gas molecules have more kinetic energy than the water molecules because there area greater number (mass) of water molecules transferring energy.
A more perplexing question is, that if the atmosphere is absorbing no radiated energy from the sun and is being heated by the Earth, why isn’t the surface of the Earth being heated to 230 degrees like the sun side of the moon?
