Excess Death & Cold Waves (Part 2)

Climate alarmists like to talk about heat-related death, so let’s have a quick look at cold-related death

In part 1 of this mini-series I presented the results of a rough and ready foray into the cold end of excess death.

We noted a consistent and persistent drop in the annual cold wave period count since HADCET records for daily minima began in 1772, this being a jolly good thing since a warmer world means less famine, crop failure, death, disease and economic despair.

It’s no coincidence that the Romans built their empire during a warm phase, only to have it collapse during a cold phase (well worth a Google, but since I don’t trust Google you might like to use a search engine such as Brave).

Neither is it any coincidence that most species took evolutionary advantage of warm phases only to perish in the great ice ages, with the DNA pool entering bottlenecks. Life on Earth generally likes warm despite globalist attempts at selling us cold.

The climate narrative and the COVID narrative are two peas in the same pod, so we may expect nonsensical climate lockdowns for planetary ‘protection’ and attempts to pass the blame for vaccine deaths on ‘climate change’.

This coming winter we shall see a surge in excess death that the globalist media will spin into stories of climate death, hence this preemptive mini-series.

If the Daily Express can blame crisps for blood clots then they are going to try anything and everything as vaccine deaths mount

It doesn’t have to be truthful and it doesn’t have to make sense. Neither does the headline have to agree with the accompanying text since 80% of folk will only read the headline. That’s a scary statistic because people are not even thinking, they’re just reacting, which is why the entire COVID narrative focuses on emotions and feelings rather than facts and logic.

Use the phrase ‘a new study shows’, then throw in death and destruction and the public are putty. Here’s one for the coming months: ‘New study reveals record excess deaths linked to falling apples’. The chilling thing is that any expert will be able to pull down data to support this. So let’s have a look at some data that I’ve prepared as honestly as possible…

In The Blue Corner…

I’ve already produced estimates of excess death due to heat waves (subscribers may wish to start with part 1 of my BBC-bashing series) and in the last article I produced estimates of excess death due to cold waves, so let us put them together and see how they square up:

Well there you go! If I was forced to choose a life in perpetual heat or perpetual cold I’d go for perpetual heat to maximise my chances of survival as I became frail, wicked and unmanageable.

Please note that data for 2022 are necessarily incomplete. Arguably the most interesting year is 2003 when deaths due to heat exceeded deaths due to cold, and in this respect 2018 was another ambivalent time.

Ratios & Insanity

What we can do to assist our eyeballs is derive the ratio of cold deaths to heat deaths and plot this out along with the series median (orange dotted line) and a line reminding us of equivalence (black line at a ratio value of 1.0):

We now see that (using my definitions and dataset) cold winter deaths generally outgun hot summer deaths by a factor of 3x each year, reaching a minimum ratio of 0.96 during 2002 and a maximum ratio of 8.2 during 2007.

Bizarrely, our illustrious leaders, backed by a raft of woke folk, would prefer to steer us toward a colder future with less atmospheric life gas from which crops and other leafy delights may grow.

Bods like Bill Gates want to dim the sun, and on Twitter there’s talk of nuclear war being a good thing because it might reduce global warming.

Insane is not the word. We need a catchphrase that describes people stone drunk on a death wish cult that perverts the basic tenets of life as it has evolved on Earth.

Dee’s Combi Burger

For my last slide I am going to combine excess deaths due to winter cold and excess deaths due to summer heat to see where we are being taken as a species in a lovely shade of lilac:

Now isn’t that darn interesting? If I run an ordinary least squares regression over this data (OLSR) I get a trendline that is flatter than the flattest pancake I can make with a slope of +0.901 deaths per year (p=0.935). In addition a nonparametric test for randomness using median values (Wolfowitz runs test) reveals we are looking at a random walk (p=0.398).

There is nothing to see here folks, things ain’t getting any worse and things ain’t getting any better when it comes to exces deaths due to temperature extremes recorded in Merry England over the period 1987 – 2022.

The weather is doing pretty much what it always has done to folk these last 36 years.

What has notably changed are the drunken death cult perverts hidden within government, the media, venerable institutions, corporations and our universities who have no compunction in taking full advantage of a gullible public.

Cold kills and this winter millions are going to suffer and many die because they can’t afford heating or their eco-green, WEF-driven government has made an arbitrary ruling to help them achieve Net Zero.
