Facebook CEO Non-cooperative with Capitol Hill Censorship Probe

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was stony-faced and non-cooperative on Capitol Hill over a newly revealed whistleblower complaint.

The Big Tech billionaire repeatedly refused to reveal how many accounts Facebook has shut down, limited or censored in an alleged hidden campaign to stifle dissent.

Principia Scientific International is one of many independent online bodies routinely attacked by the Big Tech censors.

Yesterday Senator Hawley grilled Zuckerberg over whistleblower claim of Facebook coordination with Google, Twitter in a conspiracy to de-platform, censor and control content contrary to their shared corporate agenda against freedom of speech.

The New York Post reports:

“Hawley said that his office was recently contacted by a former Facebook employee who claimed that an internal program called Tasks is used by the company “to coordinate projects including censorship.”

“As I understand it, Facebook censorship teams communicate with their counterparts at Twitter and Google, and then enter those companies’ suggestions for censorship onto the Tasks platform so that Facebook can then follow-up with them and effectively coordinate their censorship efforts,” Hawley said.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that it’s not unusual for workers within Facebook to speak with their peers at other companies, but denied that there was any coordinated decision on what content should be unilaterally banned.

“Senator, we do not coordinate our policies,” he said. “I think it would be probably pretty normal for people to talk to their peers and colleagues in the industry. … But that’s different from coordinating what our policies are, or our responses in specific instances.”

But Zuckerberg acknowledged that the companies may give each other a heads-up on security threats, while maintaining that the same did not extend to how to moderate free-speech issues.

list of mentions of Google or Twitter in the platform, vowing instead to circle back with Hawley’s team once he looked into “any sensitivity that might exist” around the platform.

“I’ll just say in closing that what we have here is clear evidence of coordination between Twitter, Google and Facebook,” said Hawley. “Mr. Zuckerberg knows he has the tools to track this … but he won’t commit to letting us see it.

“I submit to you that this is both totally unacceptable and totally predictable.”

At Principia Scientific we are fed up and disgusted by the coordinated anti-free speech antics of Facebook, Google, Twitter. So we actively use alternatively social media platforms such as Parler, Gab and Telegram which are not poisoned by a political agenda.  We urge our readers to consider a similar remedy.

    Hi John,

You ave the ability to somehow refer to three previous PSI postings related to this posting. PSI readers do not have this ability. Google allows me to search “dr jerry krause science” and the first option is that of an essay you had posted for me at PSI. Because I was checking this out to see if I had remembered correctly, I just searched “dr jerry l krause science’ and the first option was as before. But there was a 2nd option I had never found before.

The 2nd was an article titled ‘Head Moderator [Nathan Allen] of Reddit’s Science Community Says Chemists Need To Be More Active Online’ which was published in C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News). The difference was my middle initial. This because I had sent an email to Nathan exposing a wish to have an email conversation with him. And he, unlike you, never replied.

But this 2nd option made me curious so I dropped the ‘dr’ from my search. And John, you are correct for it seems dr is important for in this case there was no Google option which involved me.

I have reviewed this to say that I would really appreciate the ability to search the PSI data base as you evidently can. And I would be willing to donate more to PSI for this service.

    Have a good day, Jerry

    Hi Herd,

I had tried to use that feature and did not get anything. I just tried again using a variety of key words from titles of posts and got nothings.

Have you actually tried to use this feature? And you did and if it worked, would you please send a few key words you used so I can check out if they will work for me.

    Have a good day, Jerry

Great article John. I was recently told about a new social media platform called Nebu2.com. It is very similar in looks and functionality to Fb, but without ‘fact-checking’ or censorship. It is run by a guy near Leicester. It has already gained several thousand members since it was launched just over a month ago. I joined in case Fb gets too oppressive, and I share climate and virus articles from here, CCD and other sources.
