Trump Did Not Propose Injecting Disinfectant to Kill COVID-19
Mainstream media in the U.S. and internationally is falsely claiming that US President Donald Trump recommended injecting bleach as a treatment for coronavirus. The lie was broadcast on American news channels, the UK’s BBC and elsewhere.
President Donald Trump on Friday said he was being sarcastic when he asked medical experts about injecting disinfectants into the body to fight coronavirus.
“I was asking a sarcastic and a very sarcastic question to the reporters in the room about disinfectant on the inside,” Trump said. “That was done in the form of a sarcastic question to the reporters.”
The president commented to reporters on the establishment media firestorm over disinfectants after signing a bill providing $320 billion in additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program.
When Reuters reporter Jeff Mason asked the president to clarify whether he was encouraging Americans to ingest disinfectants, Trump replied, “No, of course not.”
He added, “Interior wise, it’s said sarcastically, it was put in the form of a question to a group of extraordinarily hostile people, namely the fake news media.”
During the White House press briefing on Thursday, Trump questioned whether it was possible to use disinfectants “by injection inside” to kill coronavirus. He later clarified, “it wouldn’t be through injection.”
Here is what the president asked Acting Undersecretary of Science and Technology for the Department of Homeland Security Bill Bryan:
“Then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?” he asked. “Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that.”
The White House said Friday that Trump’s remarks were taken out of context.

Saw the presser this is about. He most certainly did not suggest, directly or otherwise, that anybody drink bleach. Listen to HIS words, not an articles alleged quotes

Well there you are now.
I always suspected that the best treatment for COVID was ‘wire brush and Dettol’.
But a UV light endoscopy? That’s pushing things just a little too far.
It’s embarrassing to admit that Trump is half Scottish! But at least he appears in public to spread mirth, hilarity and incredulity.
Over here, we have Major Major Boris who prefers games of hide and seek at Chequers.
In Scotland we have Napoleonette Sturgeon. Although I am a dyed in the wool Republican, I wouldn’t trust her to look after a new born litter of puppies. It’s an odd coincidence that Scotland’s last 2 leaders have both been named after fish.

Pretty sure that video clip isn’t showing a lie, being it is real-time, no editing, and no sarcasm detected. You state: “….falsely claiming that US President Donald Trump recommended injecting bleach as a treatment for coronavirus.” … then you play the clip with Trump recommending injecting bleach as a treatment for coronavirus. So, then if he actually said it, how is it a lie that he said it? Sure, one can say later being sarcastic (walking it back??) but that doesn’t change what was communicated at the moment. We all know when later people Trump actually listens to show him what he said, he realizes how wrong he was, scientifically or politically, he walks it back by saying sarcastic or out of context or blame it on WHO, and then later claims the original is now “fake news” because he said so and so then some will say thus the original is ‘fake news’ because Trump said so. Not fake new flash: Just because Trump says it fake, doesn’t make it so.
Shocker I know. That’s not how it works. p.s. the POTUS isn’t supposed to be ‘sarcastic’ by the way. It is beneath the position. Yet again 90% of what Trump does is below the dignity and expectation of the position so that’s not new news.

Charlei, if you are referring to the video above, at 2:10, he turns to the doctor and asks the question. He doesn’t say to swallow bleach, as has been reported.
