Dr. Fauci Exposed: Praised HCQ Treating MERS Coronavirus in 2013
NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci is amassing quite a record these past few months.
On March 20th Dr. Fauci “corrected” the president during a press briefing on hydroxychloroquine saying, “You got to be careful when you say ‘fairly effective.’ It was never done in a clinical trial… It was given to individuals and felt that maybe it worked.”

Exactly two weeks later hydroxychloroquine has been deemed the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus in an international poll of more than 6,000 doctors.
Dr. Fauci was repeatedly skeptical of hydroxychloroquine’s effectiveness in treating the novel coronavirus.
But he wasn’t so skeptical back in 2013. In fact, Dr. Anthony Fauci CHEERED the use of hydroxychloroquine appeared effective “only in cells in lab dishes” in treatment of against MERS.
Fauci, now so sour on hydroxychloroquine (+/- azithro) for covid19, despite its clinical promise, gushed in 4/2013 when a coronavirus [MERS] antiviral combo [ribavirin /interferon-alpha)] tested “only in cells in lab dishes” prevented viral replication! https://t.co/c9aN1b0nvZ pic.twitter.com/KBTLDUeIUW

That is interesting. So Dr. Fauci thought a 2013 test in a “lab dish” was particularly encouraging. But in 2020 after severl successful studies of hydroxychloroquine’s effectiveness in treating coronavirus patients he was suspect. That’s weird.

You stated “This is weird”, I do not think this is weird, because if you are familiar with evolutionary biology and follow Darwin’s theory of evolution, you should understand that people evolve in their understanding and judgment of events and processes in the surrounding environment. Do you expect Dr, A. Fauci to blindly follow his ideas and opinions expressed 6 years ago? If he would do so without good arguments., I would call him a religious person, not a scientist. It is so encouraging to see such a smart and brave person correcting the president,. Everyone needs to be corrected to evolve.

I’m 72, had a flu bug about 8 times. Rarely wash my hands (tradesman) and only got but when somebody coughed in front of me.
WE HAVE ALMOST ZERO PROTECTION – GET IT???????????

@Vladimir A,
At the moment, it appears that hydroxychloroquine is the best agent for treatment. See, e.g., https://principia-scientific.com/global-survey-of-doctors-hydroxychloroquine-rated-most-effective-for-coronavirus/ , as mentioned above.
Does Fauci have anything better to offer, right now?

Plants are attacked by insects, grazing animals, mold, mildew, fungus, bacteria and viruses, and have created chemical defences. Alkaloids are one family of chemicals, including caffeine, nicotine, strychnine, psychedelic drugs and QUININE. Quinine is derived from the South American cinchona tree, and has been used by natives for millennia, by westerners since Columbus to treat malaria. Quinine is antibacterial and antiviral, natural and organic. The BIG problem with quinine is that, at ten pill for a dollar, there is no BIG profit for BIG pharma.

From “Carson News:” Fauci said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday morning. “There have been cases that show there may be an effect and there are others to show there’s no effect. So I think in terms of science, I don’t think we could definitively say it works.”
I interpret that to mean it may not work but on the other hand it won’t do any harm. Isn’t that the beginning of the Hippocratic Oath? First do no harm? Well if there’s no harm, take the next step and try it, right?
I think we need a second opinion.
