Can You Really Cure Disease with a 9-volt Battery?
The term ‘Electrotherapy’ may sound scary but electrical stimulation has been scientifically proven to work well for some types of nerve pain. Treatments range from electrotherapy you can do at home to surgical procedures.
In this article we introduce the emerging field of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF). Could PEMF follow CDB oil as the next big DIY medical treatment? The respected webmd.com website has some useful pointers for the inquisitive.
That there has been some retreat in recent years by governments to permit more use of ‘home remedies’ is in no small part due to the spiraling cost of health care. Wider internet access is also prompting citizens to research for themselves alternatives for natural cancer treatments and pain relief.
So, how do cells control electrical currents?
How it all works is unclear but what scientists do know that the elements in our bodies, like sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, have a specific electrical charge. Almost all of our cells can use these charged elements, called ions, to generate electricity.
While electricity in the human body is still not fully understood, the University of Maryland Graduate School gives us this insight:
“A disruption in electrical currents can lead to illness. For example, in order for the heart to pump, cells must generate electrical currents that allow the heart muscle to contract at the right time. Doctors can even observe these electrical pulses in the heart using a machine, called an electrocardiogram or ECG. Irregular electrical currents can prevent heart muscles from contracting correctly, leading to a heart attack. This is just one example showing the important role of electricity in health and disease.” [1]
Of course, there are scammers out there eager to fleece you of your hard-earned dollars. But there are also genuine therapies that are proven scientifically to have some benefits.
Read a mainstream source of (mis)information such as Wikipedia on Electrotherapy and you will be told claims of efficacy are at best ‘anecdotal’ and yet will concede such treatments are apparently being used with success on racehorses. Since 2007 pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMFT) have been approved for use by the FDA. [2]
It is almost axiomatic that “A patient cured is a customer lost.” -Bob Beck
You don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to grasp the truism that effective home remedies and judicious self-medication are anathema to the corporate pharmaceutical industry. ‘Big Pharma’ fought tooth and nail to prevent legislation in the US that permitted free use of cannabis-based remedies.
‘Cannabis remains outlawed in the UK to protect the profits of Big Pharma’ (08/03/2017 Tracey Watson) revealed:
“Those who understand just what a powerful natural medicine marijuana truly is have trouble understanding how any government could continue to ban this amazing substance. But, a deeper examination of the subject quickly makes it obvious that Big Pharma is actively campaigning to keep marijuana inaccessible to the masses. After all, if marijuana were legalized worldwide for medicinal purposes, many of these pharmaceutical giants would sustain massive financial losses. Will Electromagnetic Therapy Catch on like Cannabis Remedies?
A surge in home use of CBD oil (cannabis derived) may be a pointer to how a financially hard-pressed citizenry may go with opting for such cheap home remedies.
CBD oil – Cannabidiol is derived from the cannabis plant, and comes with a wealth of health benefits and is now being sold on US and UK high streets. As with CBD, we can certainly say for sure that widespread veterinary use of electrotherapy is on the march.
Open minds are now seeing the where CDB oil goes, pulsing electromagnetic field therapy on humans may follow.
Even Wikipedia now admits:
“Veterinarians were the first health professionals to use PEMF therapy, usually to attempt to heal broken legs in racehorses.[5] In 2004, a pulsed electromagnetic field system was approved by the FDA as an adjunct to cervical fusion surgery in patients at high risk for non-fusion.[5] On 13 October 2015 the FDA reclassified PEMF wellness devices from the Class 3 category to a Class 2 status.[citation needed] PEMF devices that have been FDA cleared are able to make health claims that require a doctor’s prescription for use.”
What is Magnetic Pulsing Healing?
First, let’s be clear: electricity is everywhere, even in the human body. Human cells are designed to conduct electrical currents. Electricity powers our nervous system to send signals throughout the body and to the brain, making it possible for us to move, think and feel.
The American pioneer of Magnetic Pulsing Healing was Bob Beck. www.bobbeck.com tell us:
“Pulsed magnetic therapy, also known as pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy (PEMF), is gaining broad acceptance from veterinary use to conventional medicine. This article reviews medical research using pulsed magnetic fields to heal from difficult-to-heal bone fractures and wounds to helping regenerate nerves. This article describes how PEMF creates microcurrents in deep tissue such as organs and lymph, and supports healthy immune function.”
Veterinarians Steve Marsden, DVM ND MSOM LAc DiplCH AHG, Shawn Messonnier, DVM and Cheryl Yuill, DVM, MSc, CVH at vcahospitals.com report great benefits for bone fractures and wounds:
“Magnetic medicine continued to be explored through the ages, and the recognition of the presence of ions in cellular tissues and fluids provided a possible scientific explanation for the action of magnetic fields on living organisms. Magnetic therapy fell out of favor in the early twentieth century, as medical research became focused on drug-based therapies and biochemistry.
The US Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of PEMF in the treatment of non-union fractures. As a form of treatment, magnetic therapy is most often used to enhance healing from injuries and wounds or to treat chronic conditions such as tendonitis, degenerative joint disease, hip dysplasia, vertebral disease, and lameness caused by other musculoskeletal or neurologic conditions.”
Pioneer of the treatment, Bob Beck (photo, right) was certainly altruistic and not out to get rich from his innovations. As wiki.naturalphilosophy.org tells us:
“Professor at UCLA. In 1992, Dr. Beck was a highly respected research physicist-recently retired from his work with government contracts that were often classified, from his own business interests and from his work as a university lecturer. He was known for his leading-edge designs in measuring subtle magnetic fields and extremely low frequency fields. His last research project in the early 1980’s that focused on the brain and altered states of consciousness resulted in the design of the Brain Tumor. This won him an award from the John Fitzer Foundation.”
Beck’s genuine desire to share his knowledge freely is typified by his willingness to show others how they can build their own electrotherapy unit for home use. So, if you’re the “Do It Yourself” type download the download the schematics and instructions here.
It is widely perceived that ‘money-grabbing’ pharmaceutical companies are increasingly seen as focused on high-earning palliative treatments rather than genuine cures.
We may soon reach the point where all citizens will consider the possibility of both cannabis-based and electromagnetic treatments as cost-effective alternatives to expensive mainstream options.

John,
A big thank you for remembering the late, great Bob Beck.
I should also add that the very much alive Dr Jerry Tenant is on the same lines, see his videos entitled, “Healing is Voltage” such as here:
