Japan to dump radioactive Fukushima water into ocean
Japan’s environment minister announced Tuesday (Sept 10, 2019) that the country will have to dump radioactive water from the Fukushima power plant into the ocean because it is running out of space, Reuters reported.
Tokyo Electric has amassed more than a million tons of contaminated water from the cooling pipes used to keep fuel cores from melting since the 2011 earthquake and tsunami totaled the plant.
“The only option will be to drain it into the sea and dilute it,” Yoshiaki Harada, the minister, said at a news briefing in Tokyo.
“The whole of the government will discuss this, but I would like to offer my simple opinion.”
The government is waiting for a report from an expert panel before making a final decision on what to do with the radioactive water.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga described Harada’s comments as “his personal opinion” during a separate press conference, per Reuters.
A spokesperson for Tokyo Electric told Reuters that the company is not in a position to decide what to do but would follow the policy once the government made a decision.
The utility claims it will run out of room to store the water by 2022.

TEPCO, Tokyo Electric Power Company ignored recommendations, built Fukushima over fault lines, rejected thirty foot flood wall in tsunami zone, failed to protect critical back up cooling generators. Now TEPCO will sterilize the Pacific Ocean because as we’ve all been told….
NUCLEAR POWER IS SAFE, ECONOMICALLY AND BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Ditto Joseph Olson…
And not only all of that, but the INSANE GENIUSES stored 400 tons of EXTREMELY highly radioactive waste product up three or four stories in the air, instead of at ground level. So when the building was torn apart by the tsunami… and you could see through the twisted girder frame, because the walls were all blown out… all that needed to happen for the 400 tons of death to self ignite at 5,000 F and vaporize everything that wasn’t already gaseous, was for the cooling water pumps to not be working for a long enough short period of time. It just about occurred.
Plutonium is 2,000 TIMES as deadly as Uranium oxide. Can any of us imagine what would have happened to the United States if several pounds of Plutonium, which was (is) in the mix of Fukushima waste product, would have been vaporized and caught the ‘red-eye’ flight to the West Coast and beyond? Something like ten pounds of Plutonium, evenly distributed, will kill seven BILLION people.
Before Fukushima, I thought that the stupidest thing technical people ever did was to stuff the Hindenburg with Hydrogen.
They created this disaster. Let them drink the water.

Yeah, and this from Joseph Olson:
” Now TEPCO will sterilize the Pacific Ocean….”
Think about this we plankton afficcionadoes… forget about the Brazillion rain forest being “the lungs of Earth”. Plankton really, really does provide 80% of Earth’s oxygen. What are the chances that dumping Plutonium and the other miscreants into the Pacific will not only kill a whole bunch of plankton, but will create mutant plankton that won’t produce oxygen and will successfully compete against the good stuff? Stephen King anyone?

I’m going to guess that either 1. We will have monstrous crabs in the Bearing Sea or 2. They’ll be inedible and most of the Pacific fisheries will be contaminated forever. The waters off of the Left coast will be glowing at night, this isn’t going to end well.
