Decarbonize Yourselves First!

The penultimate climate pow-wow is going to take place in Paris later this year. The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference  (COP21) is widely touted as a “make-or-break” event to prevent a global climate catastrophe that’s supposed to be just around the corner. climate argument

Most likely, there will be over 10,000 government and UN representatives, all the NGOs in the world, some industry observers and a few others from all corners of the world. Even Pope Francis plans to attend and provide encyclical guidance. For the majority of the blessed, the goal will be to convert the imbeciles (like you and me) to the bad-carbon-footprint and need-for-decarbonisation belief. Will their sermons fall on eagerly listening ears?

Row, row, row your Boat

Oh, these wannabe savers of the world are not likely to arrive by trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific rowboat, nor by a wind-powered multi-mast “clipper;” those went out of style a hundred years ago. Of course, the attendees of the Paris event don’t need to spare any carbon whatsoever. After all, they are among the chosen few to tell the rest of the world what to do or not. The “new science” of how to save the earth does not apply to them, it’s just for the unwashed masses like you and me.

Basically, the do-gooders want you to “decarbonize” at all costs, everything, and most preferentially yourself. How else can you reduce the world population from 7 or 8 billion to fewer than one billion which Professor HJ Schellnhuber opines as necessary? He is the director of the Potsdam Institut für Klimafolgenforschung,  (a German government-funded outlet for climate impact research, commonly known as PIK) who has all the answers. Oh, even the Pontiff appears to approve of them, why else would he recently have named Schellnhuber to the 400-year old institution of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (PAS)?

Schellnhuber Wisdom

Schellnhuber is certainly a learned man and a master in communication, particularly in double-standards like most other carbon footprint aficionados. In June of this year, 2015, the Vatican hosted a workshop on the world issues (including climate). Of course, PIK’s numero uno was there too. However, when Cardinal Peter Turkson wanted also to have a speaker with different views as well, like the French scientist Philippe de Larminat, Schellnhuber reportedly was very upset. The idea of having anyone there who might possibly contradict his egalitarian views could not be tolerated. As theWashington Post reported, upon Schellnhuber’s temper tantrum, de Larminat was de-invited a few days before the event.

Being a recently installed member of the PAS and also a member of theEarth League, he is a co-author of not only the encyclical Laudato Si but also of the Earth Statement by the League. That statement lists as item-4: “Equity is critical. Every country must formulate an emissions pathway consistent with deep decarbonisation. For the sake of fairness, rich countries and progressive industries can and should take the lead and decarbonise well before mid-century.”

Presumably, the people at PIK may want to lead by example—all 320 of the valued members of that organisation.

Edenhofer Wisdom

A good leader has friends and side-kicks to run interference where and when necessary. They help to obfuscate the facts and sidetrack anyone with pesky questions or requests for explanation or documentation and the like. Of course, the good leader of the PIK is no exception. For example, S. Rahmstorf and O. Edenhofer work hand-in-hand with Schellnhuber in trying to defend against any criticism whatsoever; I have first-hand experience in that.

For example, Edenhofer recently said “The atmosphere, heaven above us all, is a global common—yet it is used as a waste-dump for greenhouse gases by the few.” Well, Edenhofer is an economist and ECONOMISTS KNOW what’s good, especially for their own benefit. After all, Edenhofer is PIK’s chief economist and director of the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change. He wants more money, specifically YOUR money; just look at his recommendation to tax your carbon.

“We have to restrict the use of the atmosphere by putting a price on CO2 emissions.”

Edenhofer has no qualms about clarifying the intent of the CO2-hoax the upcoming show in Paris is centered on. In November 2010 he stated “But one must say clearly that we redistribute, de facto, the world’s wealth by climate policy. ; one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute, de facto, the world’s wealth ;” and “This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy, anymore.”

Humanity at Risk

“Humanity at risk: climate scientist Schellnhuber speaks at the Vatican” the PIK’s press release said on June 18, 2015. Indeed, humanity is at risk from faux-science, bureaucratic and activist control of every aspect of life.

Carbon dioxide regulations via mercury, coal, and other “faux front-end-explanations” are just the beginning. The US-EPA has recently changed the definition of NAVIGABLE water in the US to include every rain drop collecting in any size of water puddle on land. You are now a villain if you have a bird bath and the rain adds a few drops to it unless you have all kinds of permits to do so.

Emitting carbon dioxide (CO2), of course, is deemed to be the mother of all sins. The 40,000 to 50,000 ppm (parts per million) you exhale with every breath will also need to be curtailed. After all, the 350.org club has been recommending for years already a curbing of the CO2 emissions to 350 ppm in air. Frankly, it’s surprising EPA hasn’t yet stopped you in your sinful CO2-emitting tracks.

So, expect the crowd in Paris to expedite calls for “decarbonisation” of your wanton emanations of the atmospheric trace (at 0.04{154653b9ea5f83bbbf00f55de12e21cba2da5b4b158a426ee0e27ae0c1b44117}) gas CO2 that also happens to be vital to all life on earth!

Don’t hold your breath though, it’s unlikely that they will lead by example and decarbonize themselves first.
